I mean, no.... it doesn't work like that.. it removes the delay to regen, and doubles regen speed. Thus... this isn't instant, and still requires any user (kevlar or not) to seek cover to regen. It only gives players more control over when they would start to regen their health.

    How?

I don't want someone to say "fix this" and just say "it needs to be fixed"

if you think something is a problem, and you think it needs fixing... please suggest how to fix it.

As a studying software engineer... I'd much rather have a problem, and some suggestions as to how the users want it to work. Not the backend for how it's designed, but how the user's end should function...

    At least give us that...

I don't think more people will try "This setup" because it's not as viable as you think it is... but, do go ahead and see how it works out... doubtful it'll work as well as you entertain it to be.

Have you tried restarting the system?

Maybe Clotting Agent can be "balanced", because its just pushes the regular game mechanic, by increase the HP regeneration.

How about we adjust the whole of the green mods and not focus only on nerfing/buffing one since CA is the current meta?

While I agree that CA is obviously much much more widespread than any other green mod, as others have said, it's likely because that other mods don't have enough going for them to justify the risk of slower movement or reduced health compromising on faster healing. It's because that's how the game has been designed due to the weapon balancing.

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

But this is allready the best of the best.

See at Flak Jacket, do we want realy a game full of high explosive spaming?

Flak Jacket literally reduces the amount of grenades you use, and unless you're using Low-yields, you're basically got 1 opportunity to make a grenade work. Lots of players don't want to afford that risk, thus most don't use it.

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

Fragile is killing the mission system, because if you are very fast you can finish most of the tasks solo... and against this, Kevlar have no chance to reach the point to defend or wathever.

Fragile reduces the amount of health you have. I unironically main this green mod myself, but the cut down amount of health definitely puts me at a disadvantage. Higher movement speed only helps if you're using a heavy weapon... pretty much a LMG or HVR/DMR, especially if you're in a group where you're not needed to be a front-line attacker for your team.

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

Kevlar is my favorit because ich play in every game thr part of the Tank = more HP or Armor.

But Kevlar works not so fine how it should. In the past time, most weapons have dealed over damage, so Kevlar 3 have no effect.

I see no signs of this even being remotely true. TTK has iirc, over time been reduced since the game's inception. Which actually is a net gain in damaged dealt... not a net loss...

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

The idea of the 1000 damage NHVR is based on, because we have 2 same sniper, one with more damage (NHVR) and one with lesser damage (HVR), but both can kill player with two shots.

There are 3 (4) snipers in the game. You have:

    DMR and variants.
    NVHR 762 and variants
    NHVR 243 and variants

Anubis (I forget the original one but w/e it's based off of) and variants.

These three snipers have different specs. The 762 version of the NHVR that you're referring to as needing more damage was literally nerfed to 800 from 850 in the previous weapon balance. That's because there's the issue of quick switching.

Asking for "headshots" or 1 hit kills destroy the game's entire mechanics. Everything in this game is designed for characters to have a single - unified hitbox, and no (non-explosive) weapon has ever, nor should ever, deal enough damage to kill a player in 1 shot.

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

But here comes the problem, CA can regenerate so much HP in relative short time to survive two hits.

Kevlar can only survive 2-3 hits from HVR, but just 2 hits from NHVR... and with Kevlars slower movement you are a much easier target for the sniper (like a slow duck you know?).

Yes, kevlar makes you a harder target to hit.

    That's the point???

CA still requires you to take cover. If you're hit 2x in a row by a 243 or 762 NVHR in optimum range, CA doesn't protect you from that (and I don't believe kevlar does either)

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

Also give the big Sniper NHVR 1000 damage, but poor accuracy and ammo = high risk = high reward.

    What?

You're saying... make a sniper... inaccurate... did a fuse blow or something?

No. In no way, shape or form should this change ever be made.

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

    Same for the rocket launcher.

Kevlar can survive one missile (why? I mean we have Flak Jacket for this part)

Whatever... i am happy to survive a missile but it is not real/ok for game balancing.

Congratz? Play style and player ability help you far more against explosive weapons than a green mod. Though the green mods do help... I don't see the point you're trying to help yourself with here... this example would actually support those who think Kev. is balanced against CA....

On 10/26/2020 at 3:28 AM, Todesklinge said:

Kevlar should have more ammo resistances.

Flak Jacket more explosive and other resustances.

Clotting Agent should have a bit lesser resistances to make other mods more of interesting.

Maybe modify the green mods to have resistances... that's an interesting proposition, and something that could be an applicable idea... Now, would it be good or not? I can't say... that would require more analysis of the game.

So i think having to have a bit of an immersive activity in apb is fun. Not that ripping of other player for their legendary is one of the common practice but grabbing an alig to gold district kinda fun.

should have more off the field activities. Games should endorse people doing trade.

and I cant believe they chose to believe a new player who never spent a single dollar on the account. Instead they ban my account that had atleast 5 years in and multiple legendary and so many stuff.

so i think, its either a trap. Because the new guy was so keen into reporting it. Frankly i dont even know whats a custom car until i got to level 50 or so...

this is what the team did before LO and i hope it died with them.

... game is great... the people in it... not so much.

Again - If you've been wronged, hash it out with support and discuss it there. They're the people with power to lift/enforce the ban.

Aside from I'm 90% sure that TechMech said many years ago that increasing the vehicle speed much beyond what it is now caused stability problems with the game, think of game balance: Imagine 2 members of each team wipe as the objective moves. The attacking team respawns within jogging distance of car spawner, spawn their Koenigsegg replica and take off across the map at 400 km/h, whilst the other team spawn on an empty street and have to run 100m to find a Packer Ceresco.

Vehicles are probably one of the things functioning best for their role in APB (albeit there are balance issues between them). If anyone wants Need for Speed car sounds and Need for Speed car physics, might I suggest you play Need for Speed? Just an idea.

(Although recent NFS titles have physics that make APB's cars look like rFactor.)

Also OP, the GTR is an actual racing car, with only 10 watered-down road going versions made for homologation. The Bishada looks like it's meant to be something like a Porsche or Japanese make sportscar (NSX / 370Z) designed for daily road use. You wouldn't hear anything like the transmission whine from a car like that than you would in the GTR.

I actually recommend Forza Horizon 3 & 4 if you want open world racing. Forza Motorsport 7 for track based racing.

For you PS4 gamers: Gran Turismo Sport is fantastic track based racing. If you still prefer Need For Speed, NFS Heat has been a good ip to the series.

Could just improve the already functioning DND system built-in. In WoW, it makes it so people can't whisper you at all and lets them know via automated message that you're DND and can't receive them. I'm not sure how it works in APB as I've never really used it, but that's probably what it should be for.

/dnd will set your status as DND in game, I haven't tested in a mission, but when out of missions, it'll keep you from getting queued- it's a better system than /afk if you're not wanting to have your mouse bumped kick off the /afk and your team has to wait for the auto-afk to set back in. DND will also auto-reply to whispers with a message that you're /dnd and a custom message that you set. [/dnd message me in 10 minutes] as an example.

Also @OP, I rather enjoy chatting with opposition. So I don't see why you wouldn't just add the players harassing you to /ignore and/or report them for harassment if it's really bothering you. IF there is some circumstance, you can customize your chatbox (press home) and check/uncheck the threads that you want to see and not see. I think this can hide whispers, but I haven't tried.

Adding a report button to the scoreboard would be a good addition to at least make it more known that there is a report feature instead of having to find out that it's /report.

  9. RNG depends on the game. Not going to say the game requires "real life" as a deciding factor, but in games, RNG helps make the game at least more "fair" as it tends to already have people who can understand the RNG chances that aid in helping play. Games like CS:GO that have little to no RNG are hugely skill dependent, but the matchmaking in the game is a lot more open to choose from a wider range of players with as close to similar skill sets. APB has neither, a small pop, and a considerably wider skill set based match making system. (Think the different threats, while we have 10 hidden threats in each level, the game allows what would be a "low" silver to a "high" gold to be paired in a match given the circumstances in a district.)

The non-mission player cars have been able to be shot through for as long as I can remember, so if that was a change then it was made before 2012. Either way, I don't think that it would ideal to mess around with this now as we're going to have phasing with missions in the near future. Though, I personally like how the system is now, I don't want to have to be forced to see cars as a half opacity object. If this is an option sure, but why not just make it so that your vehicle can't give damage to another vehicle if it's not in the mission. Your car would receive damage for attempting to grief someone. It also doesn't seem to hard to code as the game does know what vehicle velocities are, so given the vehicle with the higher velocity you could receive the damage that would've been intended on the "targeted" player.

Understandably so. Best recommendation is to just /report and move on. Only other thing is recording it happening, and subsequently submitting a ticket to support. Those are about the only sure fire ways.

Seeing in district chat "x person hack report" is extremely annoying.

the item juggler is botting,  Read the Dev post on it:   "a bot is the use of a macro or anything that mimics a macro"

so no you can not jump and grab the item and not be cheating, that is the point.  How do you know if you are grouped with a cheater
?  If you see your team mate as you say item juggle the you  know they are cheating. Cheaters are very easy to spot, just look at them and watch what they are doing.  Also and this is the part that everyone overlooks, until they are banned for it,

If you see an item juggler  on your team and do not report them  or quit the mission then you are cheating. Read the rules under exploiting "using a cheaters cheats to give your self advantage is exploiting"

So to answer your question, if you see the item juggler and  the rest of the team accepts it then every one you are looking at on your team is cheating (period).

Correct, a bot is the use of a macro or, and here we go down the rabbit hole, "mimics a macro"

While you could argue "a person mimics a macro by tap firing" that's stupid and misses the point. The post is referring to software that mimics a macro. In no way, shape, or form does this refer to humans doing human actions with human skill.

Thus, Item juggling is not botting, nor any other form of cheating.

The rest of the post, is invalidated by the immediate first premise, except for the end.

Yes, it is against the ToS and EULA to have a cheater give you an advantage. Thus, you can't knowingly group with a cheater, (key word here mate is knowingly)

Yes, you should report cheaters if you are teamed with them. Problem is, what if they're not cheating? Unless they're a blatant cheater, you won't know. Report who you know is cheating. If it's a teammate, watch them. Observe them, and make a judgement based on that.

Just because someone is cheating on your team, doesn't mean you should quit. Think about your opposition, if they end up all playing against a (or multiple) cheater(s). You could let them know, and advise they too report. You could record the gameplay, and send it in to support in addition to /report. There's plenty of things you could do.

  12. Only thing it to contact support, which you already did, so not much else we can do here on the forums other than repeat the same (sometimes kind, others not so) words.

"Put in a ticket and wait for support to get to it"

I too work in IT, and getting to tickets will take time. If you didn't do anything against the ToS, or the EULA, then you should be fine.

Sidenote, not sure where having a 2,000 euro laptop figures into this. My gaming desktop is less than half the price, and it runs perfectly, hasn't banned me even temporarily.

(make sure you weren't team killing or anything grief wise, as one of my friends got a temp ban for tk'ing too much)

    best of luck.

Shields are already problematic for crouched objectives or people doing mini-fortnite when you shoot them. They have far too much health and you can fully hide behind them, one of those has to go imo.

Shields'd be great if we could lower their health, and maybe a gap between the sides of the shield on the left/right wings? just enough to shoot through, but only if you're aiming well enough.

APB isn't newbie friendly, if you don't get the ropes you'll probably get stomped to death to dethreaters or just tryharders. Even if you are a veteran there's some times you'll get stomped by tryharders.

There's some nerfs and balances that kinda broke some guns but overall it's fine. Gotta hope that engine revives the game otherwise RIP

In the silver or bronze districts, I agree. I wish the tutorial district was brought back, and only open for accounts with <100 hours. The whole account could play there until their total character in game hours are over 100, in which case, they'd be kept from joining the district, and put out into the normal (likely bronze) population.

If the new players wanted to play with friends who're not new, then they could join the normal districts and play with friends in the major pop, yet as long as their hours are under 100, they're still able to go back to the tutorial district.

The early tutorial district was limited to your first time playing APB, and that was it. (iirc, maybe you could go back to it while your character was a Trainee)

I remember the community talking about shooting through vehicle windows , but I do not recall any stance by Little Orbit on if they would like to rework the cars or not after the engine upgrade given how much there is to do.

Personally, I think that on a meta standpoint, having the ability to shoot through car windows would be detrimental to the gameplay, as the game has been oriented around this for the past decade, and is one of the core elements in the game's design. I say this, because currently, players become part of the car model, as that's how the game has been built. Given this, I remember hearing that it's either insanely difficult, or impossible to implement this in the current engine. Granted, however LO built the new engine, I'm unsure of the merits of the backend side of the argument, but I think because of the design of the game, this would hurt the gameplay should it be implemented.

APB is my highest played game according to steam if you want the exact number: 931. To me this is a lot of hours for a game Skyrim coming second and gta 5 coming third. So 1000's is a lot to me. I used the halloween event to my advantage so I could learn the maps really well. My first character is almost max rank at 233 and my other at about 70. While I know i'm not a day one veteran, I am experienced at the game. I mentioned my hours to let people know i'm not a 6 hour noob who came to harp on why this game isn't GTA 5.

Not to worry, I'm glad to see some people have stuck with the game - even if they're not "new" per say.

Do you mean .png, as in the image format? I don't know, I feel like using an image as a cloud would look worse than using a 3D model. I'm not a game dev so I wouldn't know the complexity of doing so.

Also not all cars change your crosshair to red i believe, civ cars show up as white with a white hit indicator? But I would see the smoke being used for more team play you toss one through a narrow opening and it could be used to get the jump on your opponent. Or like I said give just enough visual cover to cross a street.

And, true. What I meant was, when you can shoot through something, like a fence, or underneath cars, at enemies, your crosshair turns red. If you could shoot through the smoke, you would still have a visible shot/red crosshair at an enemy. An interesting idea if you wanted to add smokes would I think modify concs to do no hard/soft damage, and have the smoke linger for longer. However, this won't affect the UI/HUD. Your crosshair will still show the enemy, and so will the enemy's name above their head. The smoke would have to do something like obscure the UI, and that's not necessarily something you'd want to happen to your HUD.

Another option would be to turn the smoke into an object, one that can be phased through, but not seen through/out of.

If people want it, I'd be curious to see this in the OTW, to see how it would change the meta for the better/worse.
