    Hi all, I use to play back around 2014-2015 and was unfairly banned for what was suppose to be a 'FairFight' ban. Even though when I contacted fairfight etc they never said I was banned and G1 at the time wouldn't allow me to contact them.

    The message below was what I received which was an inappropriate activity, which to me is quite vague and was very frustrating at the time.

    Someone with access to this account was observed performing an inappropriate activity which violates our posted Terms of Service policy. This account has been permanently closed due to behavior contrary to the policies of our Terms of Service. This account will not be unblocked and all current/future tickets will be closed with no further action taken.

    Any idea's to the possibility of an unban, as I'd love to come back and play again. (Missed my Vegas G20 😄 )

    So, you, or if someone was playing on your account, broke a/some rule(s) from the ToS.

    Now, they don't specify what rule you broke, which in lieu of the unbanning, you might just need to send a support ticket, and find out.

    It's a client sided anti-cheat, different compared to fairfight (checks for stats compared to checking your game)

    Implementing FairFight again with it would yield to better results most likely.

    IIRC, FairFight is still running in the background, while BattlEye has taken primary use as the anti-cheat.

    It's likely not possible at this time. The codebases are currently different between PC and console--at most you may be able to get purchases, but character specific information would likely be lost.

    This.

    The best time to ask will be after the Engine v. 3.5 rolls out for the game.

  4. Before the update, Vivox never worked for me. I never used it, and I don't want to use it. If I need a voice chat to play, Discord.gg is the most useful, and lightweight on my system. Better than Teamspeak, and Skype. Not to mention, I don't really enjoy using VoIP with randoms...

  5. I'm pretty sure the NA server is the only one close enough for people in South American to play with a somewhat steady latency, (compared to EU and Han).

    However, to address the ethics of your topic.

    No, they shouldn't get blocked from joining any server, just you, an American, can play on the EU server.

    • Jericho is for North America, so Canada and Mexico, and I guess any Caribbean Island can too. (San Juan is a US Territory, and they predominantly speak Spanish).
    • I'm pretty sure G1 didn't block the entire country of Brazil from playing. I was playing earlier, and out of the entire EN2 Waterfront, there was 1 or 2 people in /d speaking Portuguese. In my 7-8 missions, only 1 teammate was Brazilian. And guess what, he actually worked with our team...

    Live and let it be. They're not hurting you playing on the server.

    Holy crap, nice to see you posting again. And they certainly do look similar. I think you can try experimenting with GIMP and get somewhat similar results... Not exact, but close.

    I hope to see it too!

  7. I know that it's been said the server is in Dallas, although I wish it was in Kansas City, would certainly be helpful to have the server in the city you live. I hope maybe a subsidiary of the server can be placed near the east coast for some Han players that would like to migrate over for a higher population.

    I'd also like to see how Little Orbit wishes to expand the playerbase in all the servers for a population boost after this patch.

    being common =/= supposed to be done.

    inis exist because devs can easily be adjusted without interacting in the code. What ini settings are supposed to be altered by the user is usually reachable trhough an ingame setting. Yes devs can lock them, but not locking them doesn't equal an allowance for the user to adjuts it at his will.

    being able to =/= being allowed to =/= supposed to do

    these 3 can have a connection but don't necessarily imply each other in any way.

    yes could happen, its still a difference if those things get altered through the ingame or by any other user directly in the File, so yes it COULD happen, because you do stuff you aren't supposed to do.

    @SImilarities

    if the client doesn't listen all consequences are his own fault, thats liek your warranty being gone because you opened your laptop within Warranty time which you were not supposed to do.

    This is just how it works, and just because youc an open it and probably do undust it yourself, you never should do so, not if you expect warranty to stay for those 3 years.

    Just because they have not enforced anythign before simply doesn't means they won't in a future. Thats the danger many might run into, And "but you never acted against it" isn't a workign excuse then.

    Being a Computer Science student helps with situations like these. If you create a program (game) that takes in input from the user, you only want a specific type of input, so you only allow the user to enter in what you give them, or what you want to give them. If they enter in something you don't want, you have to account for that, and prevent them from doing it.

    Hence:

    int input;
    cin >> input;
    while(true){
      if(input <= 0)
        cout << "Please enter a value greater than zero" << endl;
      else {
        cout << "Thank you for entering a value" << endl;
        break;
      }
    }

    If the programmer doesn't want an integer less than or equal to zero, account for it, and prevent it.

    If Little Orbit doesn't want a user to edit ini files, have default values set, and overridden when the game starts.

    Oh wait, it already does that.

    Now, I'm not saying to and edit everything to be fine tuned to your heart's desire. EULA states you can't edit the game's files. Don't edit the files, if you get caught and banned for editing them, don't say you weren't warned.

    If that's not an adequate comparison.

    Apple Inc. doesn't want you to reverse engineer their operating system, MacOS. However, there's a big community that do that, they make PC's run MacOS, and they're called Hackintoshes. You can't go and publicize telling people to do it, Apple will sue you, but you can say that it can be done. If you do it, you're not going to get arrested or sued, Apple has bigger fish to fry. You'll be fine if you do it. Worst thing that can happen is Apple will disable your computer from connecting to their services.

    (Also, Apple says in their ToS and EULA to not use their computers for any sort of nuclear arms development or launch systems... soooo...?) *in case anyone gets upset, last statement was sarcastic*

    I am all for discussion, but OP didn't prompt any discussion, it's just bashing of LO and people saying he's impatient. There's general lack of civility to the post, while other similar posts are genuine. This is probably one that should be locked from the get after a response from staff.

    I'd like your post if I could, but I'm all out for today.

    Also, conversation has seem to run it's course. If a GM or staff wish to reply, but lock afterwards.

    Hey, where'd you get your signature? And how did you add the image? Couldn't figure out how.

    I posted a thread on the signature generator. Link:

    Upload the image it downloads to imgur (or your preferred site) and then right click it, copy image location, and then paste it into your signature on your edit account page.

    Sorry for being off topic.

    I voted to keep it, game needs a money sink, it's what keeps the inflation down, and prevents our game from having any legendary cost 500 million +, or any symbol costing 1 billion

  11. As a Computer Science student, Software does not work 100% of the time. If you fix an error in your code, two more appear, blah blah blah.

    What I'm saying is, a large endeavor like this takes time. Patience is a virtue, and if you don't want to play the game until there's an update, go ahead. All your stuff will still be here. Take a break from the game.

    If you don't want to take a break, then keep playing. I have a friend that can't play missions, his internet disconnects him every time he plays in a missions district. He spends time in social making themes. (search him up: iry. )(shameless friend promotion).

    On top of complaining about hacking. Sure broadcasts are still disabled, and will forever be. However, with the communication they [Little Orbit] have brought forth, I trust them for the time being, hopefully the future, and that they have FairFight enabled. It's going to be tough for an untuned system (over a year mind you) to catch cheaters efficiently. There are still cheating bans likely being handed out, and rules being enforced by the new team. However, it's not automatic, and it's not fast.

    I'm not going to tell you what to do, other than simply asking that you wait for a bit. Let them give us the first new update to the game. They have told us that the next patch/update will be with BattlEye. It's their priority right now. Once that is set, and everything has become stone, then if you have issues with their management, criticize them. Petition and debate, whilst being respectful  (because some of the community can't even do that)

    Pretty sure it works, this and getting rid of vivox.

    I'm not going to really debate it here, but here's a link and a quote to another forum post discussing it.

    And how exactly was it fixed since if you check the default BaseInput.ini all the acceleration is still there by default ?

    Default values:

    LookRightScale=300

    LookUpScale=-250

    Bindings=(Name="LookUp",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=+25.0 AbsoluteAxis=100")
    Bindings=(Name="LookDown",Command="Axis aLookUp Speed=-25.0 AbsoluteAxis=100")

    Bindings=(Name="MouseX",Command="Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX")
    Bindings=(Name="MouseY",Command="Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY")

    it's not because it's there that it serves a purpose , any devlopper could disable it , ifyou watch other config files , there's options for freecam modes and all that stuff that isn't enabled in the game  , there's also XBox bindings with half of them working correctly .

    also there's a texture file for the convertible in the game files , yet it's outdated and has no reason to be there . there's just so much stuff in apb that's there and doesn't serve a purpose , and this "mouse fix" is one of them ,

    it was effective before , but now it does nothing AND supposedly puts you at a risk .

    so be honest with yourself , would you rather keep your placebo and have a chance to be banned , or just not use it and play exactly the same without the ban chance 😐

    So after battleye is implemented, can we use these things (untill implemented in-game)?

    -Hold to crouch

    -Toggle sprint

    -Mouse fix

    -Overwolf/mumble  custom crosshairs

    Pretty crucial things imo.

    Might I add that the title of this thread is a bit misleading... just a bit?

    Hold to crouch is a reasonable request.

    Toggle sprint is a reasonable request (although sprintshooting needs fixing)

    *mouse fix* What are you talking about? Are you asking about the .ini files that change the mouse settings and such? Because there's already a thread on the new forums asking for this... and on top of that... the mouse "fix" doesn't work or do anything.

    Custom crosshairs would be nice in game, I'd rather not have a third party software edit the game's files to have your own cross hairs.

  14. I kinda wanna know what they thought about the gun play, and whether or not the tutorial was well explained or descriptive. I've been playing long enough, that the tutorial didn't really affect me. This past week though, I got my girlfriend to sign up, and try playing. She didn't like it, albeit the tutorial wasn't really detailed enough, and she felt like she had no real direction that explained the game for her.

    Probably better to post this in another thread about the tutorial, but I'd like to hear something back from the devs on their opinion of the tutorial.

    Are there people that run this game w/o issue? I can run max settings or minimal settings it doesn't matter I'll still get random stutter/shocking lag even with <20 latency. Or is that running the game 'perfectly' and everyone deals with this nuisance?

    In the same boat as you.

  16. I personally have mained the 762 for years. (up until I stopped playing a year ago) And, I can barely still quick switch, or let alone play well with the gun. I think the best way to "balance" the gun would take it's damage from 850 to 750 or 800. However, the HVR isn't the only problem, and everyone seems to be aware that other guns have issues. But, ignoring the N-Tec, so many guns in the game aren't being used as much. Everyone REEEE'd about the PMG for a long time. And, when Quick Switching was easier, everyone REEE'd about that.

    As long as people don't like a particular gun, people will complain about it being "out of balance". I have certainly seen quick switching, and issues with some guns.

    But, there's also a lack of diversity with weapons, many guns, like the PMG, the SHAW, ALIG, and any secondary weapon except for the ACT .44, FBW, or Nano not being used. They're not in the meta. Rather than bring a handful of guns down, bring some back to meta.
