Seadee 107 Posted August 30, 2018 I am a huge advocate of the Gang warfare idea, faction v faction, capture points (use the spray points) control map areas and by the end of a timer the factions get a relevant boost to, money or rep gain or something immaterial, maybe even a bonus item for rental for a time period related to the % of area they held. but that is another thread (well it can be the same one but baby steps) OCD (Open Combat District) needs a focus, a global objective that will get everyone fighting for a reason, rather than just doing jumps and shooting their friends for the lulz. Add a Capture area objective, Filler bar, longer than normal, maybe takes 5 mins of constant presence to capture it. Repeat this a few times (maybe go for 30 mins, so 6 points) Winning side get Cash benefits or maybe an item in the mail (lease for a jmb special or the new weapon you are testing/selling) it probably isn't a huge change (snowball event isn't it?) and it would encourage activity by rewarding participants and the faction. (so cash reward for participants, item reward for whole faction when playing in that district or whatever) anyway, that's the idea, have a poke at it, discuss below.
TheMessiah 430 Posted August 31, 2018 Is good idea ofc. This "Riot" mode they talk about is maybe something similar.I dont see something like that soon anyway.Right now in prototype dist. not bad..is still some change
vsb 6171 Posted August 31, 2018 current setup is optimal in the fact that you can test weapons with no wait time in real district scenarios, but realistically thats not whats happening orbit needs to realize if they want more than 20 people using the ntec and volcano on each other around the central park, they need to lead players by the hand additionally they could have rustled up some titles or something and satisfied the players clamoring for events
Seadee 107 Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) quote thing in this forum is shite. Bxnnxd is right, getting the playerbase of any game to do what you want is like herding cats, you need to give them a reason to do something. In APB's case the community is so starved of attention that even just a "everyone gets a pat on the back" would probably suffice short term... Objective in the district, give focus, give reward of some sort of completing x amounts. it's only a start right now, i'm sure they have plans for the future. Rikard86 32 Posted September 4, 2018 Don't put any open objective. For an Open Combat district to work you should have the players play as they normally would with the added extra of being able to kill players outside your mission. As such, you need to give them an incentive to play missions instead of just killing random people. - Introduce the following leaderboards for Open Combat. Longest survived (in mission) Opposed missions won Longest kill streak (in mission) Most damage dealt Most money earned Most missions interrupted (kill other players while they are on a mission) Most Bounties killed Rewards are divided in Single and Clan, with Clan rewards being the sum of all of its players efforts, but since the reward is shared between each player it's not as big as a single player reward.. Reward players daily, weekly and monthly, with prizes getting better as time goes on and they keep their spots (items for daily, Joker Tickets for weekly, 30 days Armas weapons for monthly). Players that are on top on the leaderboards are marked on the map at all times, so that you can chase and hunt them down if you're after the same prize (nothing better than going after the guy that just beat your Longest Survived record, right?)DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU

We all know that the solution for the test district issues is to have devs pop in and say "just play missions normally". and that's terrible.
