US-West servers unstable

US-West servers are unstable. It has always been an issue. There's been a few posts in Social about it but no official bug report.

Here's common issues I have when playing on US-West. I am located near New York in the US.

 

- Inconsistent hit registration.

- False hit markers.

- Inconsistent user input such as driving and throwing grenades.

- Number of shots fired client sided does not match server sided, going by ammo count.

- Latency in game is 90ms on average, with spikes up to 150ms. These spikes are not displayed when pinging the server in cmd.

 

According to wireshark and resource monitor, this is the IP address APB is sending and receiving data from, when connected to Missions-Waterfront-2-US-West.

I ran a few random tracert to the server IP address, but they do not show issues. Here's what one looks like. I left out the first 3 routes for privacy reasons.

When running a repeating ping, I got a lag spike in game, but it was not displayed in the CMD window.

7/18/20 - The populated west coast server was running fine. Still had 80-90ms latency, but it was stable.

 

7/19/20 - US-West is unstable again. I need extra hits to kill players. Some players don't take damage, even though there is blood and hitmarkers.

Delete these POS servers. Can't even throw a grenade at times.

 

I bet it's Amazon's endpoint that's causing the problem.

Now it's all of the US. EU is still somewhat stable, probably due to using a different entry point into APB's network. I also see a lot of players teleporting/warping/desync since last patch, which my main group of friends also see, so it's not on my end.

Still an issue. I noticed the server's ms going over 33ms. Sometimes 35ms, 36ms or so, with less than 40 players connected. In game latency is still not accurate. The latency value displayed in game is related to the total number of players online. Less than 40, it 1ms. In a full server, it's about 10ms-20ms for US East, 80ms for US West.

i think its your internet connection isnt stable.

i play from south korea and my ping is always stable in na west.

check ur internet provider.

Server tickrate has nothing to do with my internet connection. Part of the problem is players with high ping are allowed to connect and ruin the experience for others.

 

Looking through the in game latencytest, there's lots of instances where the server's frametime is higher than 33ms. Some outliners show over 40ms, there's even a few over 70ms. The tracert latency is relatively consistent, about 80ms on the last hop. The district latency is all over the place, between 100ms and 150ms so far. I've only looked at maybe 10% of the test.

 

The servers are not running at 33ms (30tps) consistently.

Here's the problem, your servers are not running at 33ms, 30tps. There's spikes like this in every latencytest.

This is just a great theme! I lost interest in the game due to sync issues. You can still do something in the bronze copy, because the level of the players is lower and they spend more time on kills. In the silver copy, I see my character fall, and then I see him get killed. I guess the server load is higher in silver copy due to the speed and playstyle of the players. The situation has worsened since the last update.

I deny the fault of the internet connection because the level of synchronization decreases with the increase in the number of players in the copy of the district.

This is from one of many /latencytest. Every minute there's a 200ms tickrate spike. There's also tons of smaller spikes that increase the overall average latency.
