fps cap need help

Hello is it possible to have cap of 145 fps or 121fps on  60 hz monitor? if yes please tell me how

turn off v-sync and any kind of frame smoothing stuff...

with a 60hz monitor you'll get to a cap of 101 I think... only if you have a 144hz monitor you'll be able to reach the 145 cap.

framerate cap is still tied to monitor refresh rate afaik

You realize you wont be seeing anything above 60fps on your screen right? You could have 140fps in game but it wont  matter on a 60Hz monitor.

Oh I don't play on low fps, my rig is good and my monitor is 144Hz.

I was just telling you that getting more than 60 fps wont change what you see on your 60Hz screen... at all.

Hey CookiePuss since you know enough people with good rigs can you get some people together to make a few builds setups of what you guys have in a tutorial thread?

I'm asking because this topic seems to come up every couple of weeks and especially since the market changed so many do not know what to buy or to upgrade anymore.

to be fair, it's not just a placebo... I'd recommend watching this:
 

when I turned on raytracing in battlefield 5, my FPS tanked from the average of 110 fps to just slightly above 60, barely reaching 75.
and I've felt it in gameplay... it didn't feel as smooth anymore... mostly because worse input lag though.
