Little Orbit did a lot of work on various aspects of the game. Only this work was useless. For example, a lot of time was spent reworking the game engine. They managed to make significant progress, laid the foundation, and then simply abandoned the idea. Meanwhile, the game got overrun with assholes using macros and other banana‑extenders. And the anti‑cheat system banned half of my acquaintances for using a program that creates transparent windows in a graphic editor. My acquaintances simply didn’t want to come back — they were ignored by the support service. The clans disintegrated. Meanwhile, macros became part of the game. Little Orbit started working on inter‑district matchmaking. It took them more than six months. The result was that the imbalanced missions remained, jumps between districts appeared, and there was some idiotic escalation. From the perspective of an ordinary player, the outcome of the work was zero. Later, the employees of Little Orbit sold one of their kidneys to the devil, and an anti‑cheat system emerged from the depths of hell. It took about three months to develop. That’s suspiciously fast, considering the previous experience. I don’t understand why they did all that. In my opinion, it’s a waste of resources and a complete lack of understanding of the game’s problems.

There is no logic in this game. Only chatterbox Matt and his entourage sang along. This game has long been a garage project developed by a couple of dudes drinking beer. I draw such conclusions by watching the news, studying new content. Everything that is being done to develop this game is done carelessly. Don't you agree with me? I advise you to evaluate the quality of the manufacture of a new body kit for a new car. Working at the high school level as a hobby on a winter evening. I can also give you an example of the meaningless result of months of work on matchmaking. What was the purpose of all this? What did it do? It's not clear to me. For the first time in a long time, I decided to spend money on this game and buy a new body kit for a car. To do this, I deposited a small amount into a Steam account. Then I added this game to the library. But it just refuses to start. The anti-cheat cannot run its driver. I've been messing with this problem for 5 hours. I learned a lot about the operating system devices, drivers, registry reading, and system kernel protection. Thanks for that. But I still couldn't launch the damn game via Steam. I think I'll spend this money on some game whose developers really love their creation and respect the community of players.
-
I used to launch the game using the launcher and everything was relatively good. Today I added the game to the Steam library. installed it. The startup attempt was interrupted by the error message "gfac service error 214 system 5". The search for a solution yielded no results. I reinstalled and updated the anti-cheat, changed the registry, deleted files in the "appdata" folder. I disabled the anti-cheat and checked the firewall settings. Your GFAC creation is always causing problems, you always need to explore the dungeons of the darknet and go three ways to nowhere to launch this creation of sticks and clay. What does this error 214 mean? Why is there no explanation? How can I do anything if I don't get any objective information from your creation? Do you understand that I'm not alone? It's just that most people will forget about it and delete the result of your worthless work from the library.

I'll tell you a little bit about today's attempt to enter this wonderful game. And so, after the last weekly prevention, you need to update the anti-cheat. To do this, I need to use a VPN. The monthly subscription has just ended. So be it, I'll spend 5 bucks. Next, I log in to the game. Play. I notice signs of poor routing (the health interface is not working, freezes in melee, instant death without the ability to react to an attack) I'm checking my ExitLag subscription. The subscription has expired. I'm buying a 3-month subscription (it's cheaper this way). I log into the game and start the mission. They're giving me a pretty toxic One2PL player to partner with. I get insults from him and completely ignore the task. The mission failed....
The audience of this game does not forget about it. The social media community has several thousand people. It's just that it's getting harder to play every year. There are more and more reasons not to play. All major game systems are simplified or broken to please a bunch of players who don't understand what respect for themselves and others is. Even this forum is empty because there is no point in writing, explaining, or proving anything here. -
My proposal to add the possibility of exiting a mission is indeed flawed and can be used for bad purposes.
There are several reasons why I would like to see this feature in the game. Terrible random matchmaking, stupid broken mechanics of character movements and shooting, anti-cheat that does not ban immediately. For many years, developers have been unable to establish matchmaking, anti-cheat, and fix bugs that break the game. A lot of work has been put into setting up the game. But the result remains the same. How many times have their matchmaking system been changed? Not one or two. What has changed? nothing. There is NO positive result. Matchmaking added useless features. Changing the area does not make the quality of matches better. Escalation ruins the mission. And as a player, I can't give up on that. Why should I waste time on terrible matches because matchmaking doesn't perform its functions? I hate escalation. Every time I log in to the game, I have to check the box against the non-escalation match option. Why is that? If the developers themselves haven't been able to fix the basic mechanics of the game for many years, then why should I take it easy? Give me a choice. Give me information about who I'm going to play with. Give the opportunity to give up an unbalanced match. I don't want to play against a bunch of bronze kittens. I don't want to set my chair on fire in a match against twitch jumping jerks. I just need an equal opponent who doesn't use the game's bugs and cheats as an attachment to his banana.

There are several ways to leave the mission. For example, you can simply restart the game. You can spam the chat and wait for a kick from the system. You can earn a red medal and ask the leader to kick. But it usually ends with insults or empty talk.
I might have a bunch of reasons not to play this damn mission. It can be a banal call at the last stage of the mission, an imbalance of commands, cheaters, teleporting nolifers, lags. Yes, anything. All problems are solved with just one button.I just don't want to waste time and move on. A lot of negativity appears because of this. There are always free players in this game, but they are trapped in useless matches.

I often end a mission for various reasons. I might get distracted, I might get a call. I often find myself in a hopeless situation when, at the first stage, I realize that the mission will end in failure. It happens that it becomes not interesting to play because of the obvious, stupid cheating of the players of both teams. In all these cases, I ask the leader to kick me. That's damn REASONABLE. About half the time, they start throwing mud at me, or they don't pay attention, and then they defiantly kick me in the last seconds. The problem you describe makes me smile, because it's absurd and ridiculous. Little Orbit is very good at making nonsense. All the parts of the game that have been corrected become absurd. This can be seen by evaluating the design of the new car. Or by listening to Matt Scott's speeches.
-
With such priorities, this game will soon be played only by admins and a bunch of wreckers whom they listen to, receiving money from them. Guys, seriously. Remove everything from the game that lowers FPS. Cut out all the editors. Make one female character in a black suit. And delete all cars except Vegas. You'll have less work to do. And your target audience, whose needs you are trying so hard to satisfy while killing the game, will be delighted.
-
I just wait for the assignment to end if I see a cheater. It's a pity, of course, that they stubbornly do not want to add the function of exiting a task or blocking tasks with players from the blacklist to the game.
Instead, the opinion of the old solvent players remains a priority. For example, adding another broken pistol with a silencer to the game. And completely ignoring network issues. I wonder if these smart guys from the moon know that network problems and the mechanics of rapid-fire pistol shooting are the main reason for reports of cheaters?
If they know this, then why have they ignored it for many years? Why are they sacrificing their player base for the sake of players for whom APB is just another desktop shooter? I don't understand.

Another conversation about heavenly pretzels. Many words, few actions. Lots of promises, lots of excuses. Matt is not the kind of person you can trust. He proved it many times. His problem is that he is unable to assess the opportunities and risks when choosing a goal. There are only one rakes in the field, but Matt managed to step on them probably five times...

I fully agree with you. It's very stupid to spend money and time on a complete redesign of the machemaking, and then throw it into the game and just forget about it. Unfortunately, this is a common practice for these "developers". They "develop" something for a long time, add it to the game and forget about it. No further configuration or modification. The budget has been mastered, the report has been submitted. No development goals have been achieved. Players got unnecessary downloads and an annoying interface.
There is no free pool of players in the game, not because there are 300 people online. It's just that you need to create a pool of players, but no one thought about it. All players get stuck in useless, boring, unbalanced matches. For this reason, the players receive almost unlimited tasks. For this reason, the call for help practically does not work.
I've written many times about these problems and how to solve them on this godforsaken forum. It's useless. The "developers" are busy with some useless thing again. I mean escalation or streamer mode (potatoes). And let's not forget about some idiotic kiosks that the Arab sheikhs probably asked for.
I think this game would be much more popular if the "developers" really wanted to improve the game. I see a lot of bugs that are very harmful to the game and do not require much effort to fix. But the "developers" prefer a different way - to redo everything. However, they overestimated their capabilities many times. Every time. This is usually how fools behave - they repeat the same mistake many times and do not draw conclusions. -
On 3/28/2026 at 5:05 PM, Frosi said:The goal wasn't really to "nerf" but rather make it so there's a little more skill involved in maximizing their output. Additionally, turning them Semi-Automatic fixes the horrendous ghost shooting issue they've had since their release what feels like a decade ago so the result is a more consistent gun if you can time your shots which admittedly isn't very hard on the SBSR's.
I do not know who in your gang is adjusting the characteristics of the guns. But I can say for sure that he lives in a rainbow world with zero ping. For the second month in a row, I have to buy a subscription to the program optimizing routes for connecting to the server. Thanks to you, some more competent team has earned 10 bucks.
The Legends patch is just a set of game mods from the second day. Ctrl+C, change characteristics, Ctrl+V - that's all your work.
You continue to ignore the problems of the systems that you have added to the game. For example, matchmaking. Why am I being forcibly transferred to another copy of the area for an ending mission with a clear command imbalance? Why the hell did you spend time, money, and effort on machemaking and then just forget about the subsequent setup and finishing? You immediately change the characteristics of the SBSR rifle, seeing it as a threat to the metagans. But why don't you see a threat in the characteristics of the metagans? In this game, the word meta is synonymous with the word broken. I repeat, you live in a perfect rainbow world without ping and lags.

It would be fun if a shadow ban reduced health and weapon damage. These factors will turn everything upside down. The cheater takes the place of his victims and becomes a worthless laughingstock.

I sympathize with you. If what you wrote is true, then try contacting customer support. The chance of luck is very doubtful. I came to the conclusion that some of the players are using cheats because other players are exploiting vulnerabilities and breaking the game. Today, after restarting the servers, I got into a concentrated soup of veterans of this game. After a while, the game crashed. There is no desire to come back at all. The game has become a shadow.

Please fix the bug that turned this game into a wasteland... Just turn around and you will see that all your efforts are empty. The path you're on is almost over. He will lead you to disgrace and ruin. Who you've been listening to for years is your enemy. He only says what is beneficial to him. The game is dead, as is the studio that owns it. I've seen this sunset twice already. There is always one scenario. Always, at all times of the existence of this game, she was killed by her own owners, without realizing what they were doing. Keep up the good work. You have no place in game development.

Oh yes, thank you very much for supporting the newbies. All these innovations are very useful... Not really.) Even the best weapons won't help a beginner against jumping level 255 dummies in black clothes. Matchmaking is exchanged by newcomers like a trifle in a store, creating the appearance of balanced matches. And your wonderful anti-cheat is useless as long as the cheater does not experience any obstacles when creating a new account. Little Orbit, as usual, is engaged in some nonsense satisfying the needs of a bunch of players who make this game a "competitive shooter". God, it sounds stupid when you play this game.

Is the game working? After selecting a character, I get to the main screen. There are 200 online players on Steam charts. Repair, removal and old methods of solving the problem do not help. And most importantly, there is no information about the status of the game anywhere. The forum, discord, and steam page do not provide any information.

13 hours ago, sweetLemonade said:Maybe because the previous management (RP, from Revoemag to Tiggs era) has not listened to a single complaint that his game has had for 13 years now?
You can look at Youtube videos of this game in 2013 and now, it's the exact same game.
mmunity hosted events, no visual change, no map changes, no severe gameplay changes to better the balancing, no proper competitive & casual crowd separation...
0 incentive to grind in this game whatsoever. It's wasted time.
Completely false. All 3 eras of this game (RP, Tiggs & LO) have been plagued with no feedback taken from veteran community players.
I cannot convince you otherwise as you're clearly unable to comprehend that someone can be better than you
Such is life in games without a separate queue for the competitive & casual crowd.
I described the general situation in the game. I explained the essence of the failure. Explained why this game has such a bad reputation. Explained why the population is declining. I don't understand why you're explaining the obvious to me.
I don't strive for victories and I don't complain that someone is playing better.
My goal is to develop the project, improve the quality of the game, eliminate a bunch of bugs, and restore the population.
Evaluate the current situation:
The developers have spent months of work on creating inter-district segregation, anti-cheat, fuc.. escalation, and streamer mode.
Money and time have been spent, but nothing comes out.
All these new developments were brought to the table by "professianal" players. They did not affect the attractiveness of the project in any way, they added a new batch of bugs. In most cases, the stream of this game will be anti-advertising. No one is interested in looking at a blockhead in blurred textures.
Tell me, is it worth listening to professianal players after that?Anti-cheat has banned cheaters (silvers who think they are the smartest), but it has not eliminated the problem with a bad reputation. Because the new matchmaking continues to mix "professianals", and as you called them, casuals (who make up the majority of the gaming community). Inter-district matchmaking should aim to place players in different copies of districts, focusing on their skill level. Instead, the players got loading screensavers and the same unbalanced matches. I don't see a fix for the problem here, but rather the addition of new problems. One of them is escalation. It is beneficial only to "professianals". And it is a source of pharma. It breaks the structure of missions.
Everything that has been added to the game lately does not make it better, on the contrary, the game is getting worse. Visually, this can be assessed by looking at the "new car" and taking a ride on it. A schoolboy-level job making a car mod in GTA SA on Saturday evening. Another problem is that after adding new features, they don't try to bring them to mind for many months. -
8 hours ago, sweetLemonade said:Sounds to me as if you're having a severe network latency & system latency disadvantage and aren't able to keep up with better players

Yes, the tick rate is abhorrent and archaic by today's standards, but that's not the issue you have.
Wow, a PvP game has players which want to play the game at a competitive level! Such a shameful act!
This write-up of yours reinforces my idea of them not separating casual & competitive crowd early on to be a fatal mistake from the RTW & later RP team even further.
those things you've mentioned are the main or side culprit of the "bad reputation" this game gained. There is such a thing as common sense. There is a lack of common sense in many things in this game. If we describe the situation using the example of chess, the situation is approximately as follows:
- The developer made a chessboard.
-An ordinary player who wants to play this game places the pieces on the board and makes the first move with a pawn.
-"ProfessiAnal" players sweep all the pieces off the board, grab the board and hit the skull of an ordinary player.
The professionals won the game. The game is over. An ordinary player goes to the forum and writes about the problems of the game. Or he concludes that he was beaten by cheaters. installs cheats, log in to the game, and goes into a ban.
ProfessiAnals, in between battles on the boards, go to the forum and start laughing and accusing an ordinary player in comments that he does not know how to play, he has problems with the network, and so on.And another problem is that developers listen specifically to "professiAnals". Literally, all the innovations added to the game recently are focused on "professiAnals". Developers create an environment that is beneficial to professionals. That's why the game has been forgotten for many years. A normal player with a sense of common sense and at least some respect for others will not play this toxic piece of an incomprehensible substance.

I sincerely don't understand these complaints every time someone writes them. They're borderline delusional & lack any concrete thought.Do you need specifics?
Specifics: The general point of view is that the average player dies from gun five shots.
The point of view of the average gambler: I was killed with a pistol using one shot.
The killer's point of view: I put five bullets in him.
Why do these two players describe the situation differently? Because this game is broken, rapid-fire pistol shooting breaks moving animations. The server does not provide information to the victim gradually, but in an instant. The health interface doesn't have time to work.
All the players at the top of the leaderboard are essentially bug users. They exploit all kinds of vulnerabilities in the game, turning the gameplay into the contents of a cesspool. But the administration ignores this, they have more important things to do. They're busy shoveling another pile under their feet. They don't have the resources. All their efforts to improve the game are destroyed by the players themselves.
A streamer mode has been added to the game. The developers spent time on this. To advertise and promote the game. Have you seen the streams of this game? It's just impossible to watch. This is anti-advertising!
That's why this game has such a bad reputation.
That's why the most popular reviews about this game contain complaints about cheaters.
-
If the development team has such experienced people, then why have they ignored the gameplay issues for many years? Perhaps their opinion is not taken into account in any way? Or do 20,000 hours of gaming experience have no effect on competence?
A simple example of a complete misunderstanding of the game: A common problem is that the opponent takes the briefcase away at the last stage of the mission. The obvious solution to the problem is to limit the task execution area. The developers are introducing a speed limit for loaded cars. That is, the problem of one system is solved by changing another system. Bottom line - all cars become useless, the Vegas car rules the ball. The original problem has not been solved, a stable system has been de-stabilized. A serious problem affecting the outcome of the mission has remained relevant for many years and has not been solved in any way.

17 hours ago, Victoria97 said:You have to be crazy if you cannot objectively see that number of players are doubling down each year as the year passes.
When was New Horizon launched? 6th of august 2024. Check the data. 1,186 players online. Look how long that number lasted?
Ever since, the player base kept dropping, every few months for literally 100 players less.
If player base was 10 000 we would not notice 100 players less... but since entire player base was around 500 you definitely notice when 100 ppl suddenly vanish. Then another 100..and now we are at 200 players. Most of which are veterans who cant let go.
This legends patch is the last resort you have and last chance to bring players back. But then after its release, we need events, we need new content we need to see that devs are actually caring for the game. Give job to more devs. Hire more devs. You cannot function with 1 physical dev.
I admire this man how he even decided to stay in APB. I am grateful for it. But this leads nowhere.
It takes too long, to see any change. People are not as patient as they were. You are prolonging inevitable death of APB if there wont be some serious changes.
You cannot attract new player base with having certain glitched weapons being in usage 24/7.
I invite the dev to play few missions, stay in FC. Look at the bs.
Don't get me wrong, take the critique, embrace it, improve.
Lets start working together on bringing the new population. Lets start with changes. It is now or never.
If this Legendary patch gonna be postponed again after this year, next month you will have player base of 100 people.
When patch finally comes, you will introduce it to those 20 people left, who remained waiting only to see, get disappointed and finally delete the game.Change the meta usage of ca3, change meta weapons usage, give chances to newcomers. Dont make them start with literally 0$ with 0 unlocked decals, that they cant even start to explore customization which is the only ace in sleeve this game has, but nobody waits that long to unlock the basics.
I started to develop new chars, I play for 3 months with completely new char, not daily, when I get the time. I reached rank 90 and I have to say if I weren't a veteran and in love with this game, I would have deinstalled it already 500 times.
nsane to compete with broken MM, without any starting weapon without any slot, without even char slot opened. Without being able to buy and use ca3 before you are rank 40. Do you have any idea how long it takes to reach rank 40 with star gun 0 slot, no grenade (since its not unlocked), no money, with basic useless car??
You wonder why there are no new players? ARE you KIDDING ME?!?!?! Seriously??? Someone there sitting in Little orbit wondering why pop is dropping or why we never get new pop??
Do you guys or your employees ever created a char? Ever tried to max your char? Do you even play???
There needs to be some serious changes in the core! Forget engine upgrade!Start working on a easier process for newcomers and maybe someone will actually stick along longer than 1 hour of complete traumatic experience and torture, after which they proceed to alt f4, format the part of disk their APB was installed on, right after they chopped that disk out of their pc and set whole thing on fire; type of game experience!!
Wake up!!New content, new events, all fine with that, but make not the tutorial process easier, but way shorter and ffs give people at least startup of 10k apb $, 1 char mod, 1 wep mod!
Lets brainstorm this! If someone has something against this, fine, do tell, elaborate, lets adapt.
But one thing is certain! This cannot continue because the APB is seriously this time dying for real, even though people kept saying game is dying since 2015...but this time, just observe the statistics. Numbers don't lie!
rn is there!
Lets try to keep APB alive at least for few more years! Please! Lets start changing things!
Otherwise shut the whole thing down tomorrow already and be done with it!And stop tormenting us further, and stop tormenting this video game program any further. Pull the plug and rest it in peace! Maybe one day somewhere sometimes someone will create APB 2.
Another simplification of the gameplay will once again harm the game. The start-up capital and bonuses will not lead to anything good. This will not add interest to the gameplay. You're not interested in playing your old account, are you? That's why you created a new one. I agree with the fact that it's hard for beginners. It's not about a lack of resources. The point here is that all the game changes are directed at a bunch of jumping dummies with a machine gun, a rifle, and a fucking AP 45 pistol. I don't understand why we should interfere in the same fight between a chihuahua (bronze) and a bulldog (gold). It doesn't make sense. The lack of common sense has plagued this game for many years. The high dynamics of the gameplay is designed for a local server. Interdistrict matchmaking does not seek to organize players by skill level (then why is it needed at all?). The game doesn't work well on default graphics settings, and beginners don't give a shit about third-party applications that are completely unrelated to the developer company. APB is primarily attracted by the customization system, but its development has been completely ignored for 10 years. Matt Scott does not understand what he has in his hands at all. What the hell is a competitive shooter? APB is a competitive shooter to lick the minds of a bunch of bouncing dunces from the leaderboard! Chess will also make a great shooter, it's worth believing it.

We'll get a new AMA with another delayed timeline with more promises before that legend update gets out.
I hope that someone goes back here and prove me wrong soon (tm)
And so it will be. These developers don't have a goal to develop the project. This is evident from their actions. I can't imagine a beginner who might enjoy the game in its current form. And the gaming community cannot live without newcomers. Updating the Legend has no effect on the quality of the game. Just dust in the eyes. Copy, paste, tweak the settings, change the name - a typical content update of these "developers". The number of players will rise for a few weeks, and then fall back to the basement. The game is not capable of retaining players, it is not capable of providing a healthy competitive gameplay. The developers are not doing anything to improve the quality of the game. Well, who asked them to fix the bug with the car doors? Okay, they fixed the bug, but another one appeared. The character does not leave or get into the car if the door is half open. It is necessary to open the swing door as if it were the door of a limousine approaching the red carpet. Why not remove the cargo-carrying bug from the game? Just add a two-second delay before the sprint. Why was it necessary to slow down the speed of loaded cars? This did not improve the quality of the game. It just increased the number of Vegas cars on the road. Why did you add the "Autosprint" feature? It's not enough! Add the Auto-Aim feature It's awfully convenient! New players will enter the game in droves. I can name many more such holes. But who needs it? Matt Scott? Or Psydaka? Not funny.
Do you know why the population has declined so much? I'll explain. There are about 50 players with NTEC and AP 45. These players set the pace. You can find them on the Leaderboard that Matt kindly suggested (it's not clear why you need it). There are roughly 300 players who can't make 100,500 kills, but they want to be important. That's why they use all sorts of crap for which they were banned by a great new anti-cheat.
At this point in time, there are 50 Leaders left in the game, 50 twinkies, 50 idiots who continue to suffer for some reason, and 5 newcomers. -

This is provided for in the project development plan, but is not a priority. Unfortunately, the development team has to spend all their energy washing their pants.
(It is noticeable that even the regulars of this forum have lost all interest in it.)

“Summer Nights” Event Discussion
in Social District (General Discussion)
Posted
There’s no point in investing in this game. The path the developers took led to a dead end. All they can do now is clean up the mess they’ve made. The development of this game, with its strong focus on the shooter genre, was a failure. The client and server parts of the game are far behind the pace of modern players. Using network route optimization programs and graphics configurations reduces the load and improves performance. But when you use these tools, APB reloaded simply disappears. Instead of the game we all know, a dull, plasticine‑like thing appears on the screen.
I think this game will only be saved by a new part. Made from scratch by people who really understand what they’re doing.
