    Halloween 2019 – A Guide

     

    Halloween 2019 is here!

    The Headless Horseman is descending on San Paro once again on October 23rd! He’ll be scaring up some of your favorite frights and creepy new challenges till November 6th. He’s looking to turn all of you into his mindless Pumpkin Headed Soldier army, will you fight or join him? Either way you’ll be earning new rewards! Let’s explore what’s in store this witching season.

     

    The rules for the event are simple:

    -          Collect pumpkins in Halloween versions of Financial and Waterfront to become the Headless Horseman and start the event (Timer Starts).

    -          The Horseman must kill other players to convert them to their Pumpkin Army (Pumpkin Head Soldiers).

    -          Pumpkin Head Soldiers must also kill other players to recruit them into the Pumpkin Army.

    -          Survivors must avoid being killed until the time runs out (Timer Ends).

     

    NOTE: Survivors blip on the Pumpkin Army's radar when the bell tolls, signifying that the Horseman Event is coming to an end...keep fighting, running or hiding to survive.

     

    Horseman

    -          Buffed up health, flare gun and a custom Envegas steed.

    -          Earn points by killing survivors.

     

    Soldiers

    -          Able to re-spawn multiple times without penalty.

    -          Earn points for killing survivors.

     

    Survivors

    -          Earn points for surviving.

    -          Earn extra points for killing and thereby becoming the Horseman.

     

    New Achievements to Earn

    Achievements that you can earn this year are similar to years past, but the rewards you earn from them are different from what you’ve seen! Players hunting the Headless Horsemen this year will find:

    -          Living Blight – Become the Headless Horseman – Rewards the Tile: Your Nightmare

    -          Feed Me… - Kill 25 Survivors as a Pumpkin Head Soldier – Rewards the Title: Demon / Demoness & the “Demoness” Preset Leggings (M/F)

    -          It Could Be Worse – Survive the Headless Horseman Event – Rewards the Title: Sparkly Boyfriend / Sparkly Girlfriend & “Demoness” Preset Hoodie (M/F)

    -          Masochistic Tendencies – Play the Headless Horseman Event 25 Times – Rewards the Title: Hoard of Bees & Short Sleeved Fishnet Top (M/F)

    -          Black Thumb – Kill 100 Pumpkin Head Soldiers as a Survivor – Rewards the Title: Professional Pirate & Strapped Top (M) / Webbed Bra (F)

    Red Pumpkin Exterminator!

    New this year are the difficult to find Red Pumpkins to hunt. Find and shoot these elusive gourds to earn rewards. You’ll find them hiding in both Financial and Waterfront districts.

    -          Shooting 50 Red Pumpkins will earn you 50 Joker Tickets and the Occult Symbol Pack

    -          Shooting 100 Red Pumpkins will earn you 100 Joker Tickets and the Occult Pants (M/F)

    Halloween Daily Activities

    Trick and Treat, your Halloween Contacts will have missions for you again this year, but a new reward can be earned this year by completing some of their devilishly good fun they have in store for you. Players this year can earn:

    -          Not the Done Thing / Wages of Sin = 100 Joker Tickets

    -          Glory Awaits / Lost the Will to Live = 100 Joker Tickets

    -          Slayer / Pop Gun Fun = Demoness Weapon Skin

    We’ll also be introducing some Occultish themed items into ARMAS that will bring frightfully good fun to your Halloween season. Be on the lookout for the following items to get your claws on:

    Players can also still hunt the purple and orange pumpkins from years past if they haven’t yet earned those rewards. Those rewards are:

    Purple Pumpkin Hunter

    -          Shooting 150 Purple Pumpkins will earn you the Halloween Pumpkin Weapon Skin

    -          Shooting 300 Purple Pumpkins will earn you the Devil Wings Clothing

     

    Pumpkin Smasher

    -          Shooting 50 Orange Pumpkins will earn you the Title: Pumpkin Chaser

    -          Shooting 150 Orange Pumpkins will earn you the Title: Pumpkin Murderer

    -          Shooting 500 Orange Pumpkins will earn you the Title: Pumpkin Assassin

    -          Shooting 1000 Orange Pumpkins will earn you the Title: Pumpkin Terminator

    Hello everyone,


    It is that time of the year when we are announcing a thematic design contest, this time in the spirit of Halloween.
    The rules are simple. Come up with the best costume idea for trick or treating on the streets of San Paro. It can be something of your own creation, or a cosplay of your choosing. Then simply strike a pose and share your screenshot here with us. Please also include your in game name and server!


    First place reward: 1000 G1Cs and 30 day premium + All new items from our Halloween shop
    Second place reward: 500 G1Cs and 15 days premium + one choice of item from the Halloween shop
    Third place reward: 250 G1Cs and 5 days premium


    Other than these rewards, users winning first three places will have their outfits featured on the launcher with credits, so make sure you do your best!
    The contest is opened from 20th of October until 28th of October 2019. The winners will be announced on 31st.

     

    To make the event easier for everyone we have also made a 3 day premium code: CreepedOut2019

    Get ready for Halloween in San Paro with new and exciting events happening all season! This year, we’re scaring up some new events with new prizes while also letting new and existing players complete events from previous Halloweens.

     

    The events that will be running are:

    ·  Headless Horseman Event

    ·  Pumpkin Hunting (Purple, Orange, and now Red)

    ·  Trick and Treat

     

    There is a new mini Pumpkin hunting event for players to experience. Be on the lookout for 50 red pumpkins in both Waterfront and Financial. Shooting these red pumpkins will earn you new rewards!

     

    Over the next few days we will be spoiling some of the new rewards that you’ll be chasing. There will also be a number of new ARMAS items for sale the day the Halloween patch goes live. For now, enjoy the new splash screen for Halloween!

     

    Headless Horseman Event

    This event is run in special Halloween districts. 

     

    The rules for the event are simple:

    ·  Collect pumpkins in Halloween versions of Financial and Waterfront to become the Headless Horseman and start the event.

    ·  The Horseman must kill other players to convert them to their Pumpkin Army.

    ·  Pumpkin Head Soldiers must also kill other players to recruit them into the Pumpkin Army.

    ·  Survivors must avoid being killed until the time runs out. 

     

    Pumpkin Hunting

    Each set of pumpkins has its own set of rewards for how many you find. Good hunting!

    ·  Purple pumpkins are hidden throughout Financial and Waterfront. Finding a number of them will grant you a prize.

    ·  Orange pumpkins are found in Asylum and destroying those will reward you with a number of different titles.

    ·  Red pumpkins have been carefully hidden throughout Financial and Waterfront. There are quite a few less red pumpkins than purple so finding them is going to take keen eyes. 

     

    Trick and Treat

    Finally, there are two contacts, Trick and Treat which are located in Waterfront. These special Halloween contacts are only around for a short time but can be leveled normally like other contacts. They have rewards that you can only get during this Halloween event from leveling them up!

    Hey everyone,

     

    In support of our Streaming Community, who have been doing a lot of work on providing visibility to APB over the years, we will be providing qualifying streamers with codes as giveaways on their channel. Below is a list of qualifications that the streamer must have before they are eligible:

    1. You are not currently banned or been banned by Little Orbit previously
    2. You do not violate the Terms of Service while streaming
    3. You are an active streamer (at least 2 days a week - 3 hours per session)
    4. You have been streaming for a least a month
    5. You have your VODs available for review

    If you think you meet the qualifications as a streamer, please DM me, @lixilkae, on either the forums or  Twitch.tv.

    If accepted, you will be given a number of codes to be given away on your channel to viewers. The number of codes given will depend on how often you stream, how many followers and views you get on a consistent basis. Codes that are provided to you by Little Orbit must be given away as a random draw on your channel that anyone can enter. This drawing can not be limited to Subscribers but can be limited to Followers of your channel. The drawing must also happen live on the stream. If any of these conditions are not met or any of the above qualifications no longer apply to your channel, code support can be removed.

    A new patch is going up onto the Live servers for PC. This patch will be happening on Wednesday 10/2/2019. Patch will start at 9 AM UTC and will last for 2 hours.

    Console will have its normal maintenance starting at 9 AM UTC as well.

    Patch Notes

    Many of the weapon changes that we have been making over the past few months are being moved from the Prototype Districts into all districts.     We are adding in the new Dark Prophecy clothing line to Armas based on the the tarot cards Death, Priestess and Tower. Each set will include 5 preset pieces. Check back each week for the next set in the Dark Prophecy line!

    Weapon Balance Changes

     

    NTEC-5 and its variants:

     

    Test A:
    No change

     

    Test B:
    We are changing the NTEC-5 in the following way:

     

    Previous Prototype District B Values

    - Increase the Jump Modifier from 12 to 30

    - Increase the Fire Interval from 0.14 sec to 0.17 sec

    - Decrease the Recovery per second from 5.00 to 3.00

    - Reduce Effective Range by 5m

     

    New Prototype District B Values

    - Health damage: 185 -> 180

    - Fire Interval: .14 -> .15

    - Increase the Jump Modifier from 12 to 30

    - Decrease the Recovery per second from 5.00 to 3.00

    - Reduce Effective Range by 5m

    Hello everyone!

     

    A new patch is going up onto the Live servers for PC. This patch will be happening on Wednesday 9/18/2019. Patch will start at 9 AM UTC and will last for 4 hours.

    Console will have its normal maintenance starting at 9 AM UTC as well. 

     

    Patch notes:

    This week we are making some changes in the Weapon Prototype Districts to the N-TEC 5 and some of its variants. The gun is very powerful when being used while mobile, so we are going to address that by decreasing the accuracy while jumping. This change will be reflected in both districts. We are also slightly reducing the effective range of the gun, meaning the damage drop off starts 5 meters sooner.

     

    For Test District A:

    We are making each bullet more valuable by reducing the Ammo and Magazine Capacity size on the N-TEC 5 weapons.

     

    For Test District B:

    We are changing the N-TEC 5 weapons to be less accurate for longer periods of time by increasing the time it takes your accuracy to normalize after firing a shot. We are also slightly reducing the fire rate.

     

    After feedback from players we are making the final adjustments to Low Yield Grenades.
    Explosion Radius 700 -> 550 (+50 from the previous Test A stats)
    Health Damage 575 -> 515 (+15 from the previous Test A stats)
    Stamina Damage 365 -> 295 (Same as Test A)

    Hard Damage 435 -> 376 (Same as Test A)

     

    We have added a Joker Ticket reward system for completing opposed missions. For more information about this new system, please head to the link below.     We have added new Weapon Harnesses to ARMAS! These are contact inspired harnesses that you can own and customize yourself.

     

    This patch also introduces the ability to pay for G1C using Razer Gold. To celebrate the launch we are running a special promotion. Any player who uses Razer Gold to make a purchase will get a free account lifetime clothing bundle!

    I hope you try to avoid more RNG based events where no skill is involved like the mattscott clones event that went down at one some point.

    We make those events so that players have fun shooting staff (we had similar with shooting the GMs). It will not be a Halloween event though.

    Hello everyone,

    Patch notes:

    We are starting some new weapon tests this week and we want to explain the changes to Low Yield Grenades (LYGs) that we’ll be testing. We decided to focus each of the LYGs changes on one specific aspect: Each district variant has had its Health damage, Hard damage, and Stamina damage decreased. Hard damage and Stamina damage changes are the same in each district and we are focusing mainly on size of the explosion and amount of Health damage done.

     

     

    For Test District A:

    These LYGs are designed to be used in a more accurate fashion compared to live. The amount of Health damage has been reduced slightly compared to live, and requires a more accurate throw as we have reduced the size of the explosion. We’ve also decreased the radius of the maximum damage.

     

    For Test District B:

    This variant focus more on using the LYGs for area control as they do less Health damage than Test A but are the same size explosion as on live. We also wanted to add in a slight amount of counter-play, so we are increasing the fuse timer by 1 second.

     

    Some other changes that we are making concern the OBIR and FFA. In both districts these guns will both now prevent you from weapon swapping while the re-fire or burst fire timers are active.

    We also wanted to update you on the weapons that have previously been in the Test districts: The RFP changes that we are comfortable with and are moving into the next phase of testing are the changes from Test District B. This change will be put into both Test District A and Test District B. The RFP-SD will have the same base stats as the RFP. We are also moving the changes we made to the OCA from Test District B into both test districts as well.

     

    RFP:

    Health Damage: 133 -> 110

    Magazine Capacity: 21 -> 24

    Ammo Pool Capacity: 105 -> 120

    Radius at 10m: 10 -> 20

    Min Damage Range: 25m -> 15m

    Marksmanship Modifier: 0.64 -> 0.32

     

    OCA:

    Fire interval from 0.092 to 0.098 seconds

    Accuracy Recovery from 5.675 to 5.25
