in my opinion the Easy Anti Cheat does not work, i am still facing a lot of cheaters. I thought EAC was meant to ban all the hackers/cheaters but obviously it's just a second version of Battle Eye.

EAC will only keep cheaters out for a few days at best which is very normal for any Anti-cheat, although I HIGHLY doubt that players have bypassed EAC's measures yet so the chances of running into cheaters right now *should* be extremely low, however, in the coming weeks as cheats get updated they will slowly creep back into the game at which point the cat and mouse game that is cheating / anti-cheat measures continues, this is where BE was lacking, it simply took too long to catch players cheating after they found a way around the measures put in place by the Anti-cheat to prevent injections.

How effective EAC will be is going to show in the next few months, not right now as players are very unlikely to be cheating and most ppl are not going to risk their account cheating until they know the cheat is going undetected so the only cheaters you may encounter right now are those testing the cheat and probing the anti-cheat.

Good update. Just scared about the lack of a line drawn for modified files.

If you're referring to players using edits to remove all smoke particles etc then I'm happy to inform you that EAC kicks you for using those type of edits.

FF is coming back? What software am I allowed to use while playing the game then? Because afair FF could ban you literally for everythning,

FF was a purely server side anti-cheat that used stats to determine who's cheating and who isn't, it had no access to check what sort of programs you're running on your PC so your concerns are unwarranted.

but hey looks like LO still have stuff to hide that includes cheating helpers...

All Helpers are members from SPCT, myself included, if you think someone is cheating the /report functionality should be a lot more effective in combination with EAC so I'll advise you to use it for any player you think may be cheating.

does it really matters to much? when your own helpers or whatever the f*ck they are blatanly aimbotting in your game i dont think adding EAC will change anything lol

    ded game,sh1t community period!

If they're blatantly cheating then EAC has a much better chance of banning them than BE ever had, not to mention that they also talked about possibly returning FairFight in the future on top of EAC.

Overall happy to see EAC return and actually having meaningful patch notes along with it, hopefully this milestone patch is the first of many.

Cause the game still limits itself to <4GB RAM usage.

There's plans for potential settings for users with 16GB or more RAM, for now players can use custom garbage collection timers, I went as far as 10 mins without a crash in which case my game used 8GB of ram although the stutter following that was quite severe.

Out of curiosity, what does "realtime GC" show in the logs for you? Mine shows about 160ms on average, regardless of player population.

It should change slightly depending on pop but it basically just tracks how long it took to clean up all the garbage, this process makes your game stutter, if you're averaging 160ms then that means your garbage collection stutters/freezes are around 160ms long.

    Motherboard: AsRock x670E Taichi

Make absolutely sure that your BIOS is up to date, the 7 series of AMD CPU's have been burning up lately due to possible SOC failures.

I played this weekend, and despite the APB 64-bit update, I can still experience the garbage collection FPS dip.

Garbage collection stutters are still around as those are an integral part of Unreal Engine 3, however, 64Bit raised the memory ceiling so APB is no longer limited to 4gb of ram anymore which means that they can very likely add an option that moves these stutters to happen in non combat scenarios for users with 16GB of RAM or more.

he main problem, even noted as top priority in your 2023 roadmap, is to take care of the cheats. Of course, that has been told to us for a decade, but anyways. So with your top priority, do you take care of the cheats??? No. You nerf the secondary weapon cheaters use a lot, nerfing it for everyone. Now they just use the macro + aimbot on the starter pistol instead. Over a decade, and this is what we get. I have been trying to get a bunch of my friends to come back after years away since the 64 bit update, telling them y'all say it's different this time. Of course, you just do the same exact things you have always done. Well, see you in a few years I guess. The last few weeks were as frustrating and not fun as always.

The main focus is still EAC and may be sooner than you may think, the developer was given 5 hours a week during downtime (such as when compiling a build) to do small balance changes such as these, it did not really take anything away from the EAC progress.

Taken from your own video evidence, showing there is no change. Fuck off with the gaslighting.

No gaslighting, just better understanding of what these changes actually do, the STAR is running into its jump accuracy cap in both clips due to moving and jumping as in this scenario its not using a negative multiplier such as that of the marksman modifier. The real difference in jump modifier values has always been when aiming down sights as the negative multiplier of most guns will make it so it no longer runs into its jump accuracy cap.

I know you're always on the look out for something to complain about to feed your narrative that LO is doing nothing to improve the game but if you're gonna spew miss information because you're uninformed I'm more than happy to fact check you because I actually do know just about everything there is to know about the games mechanics and value interactions under the hood. Also, Speed's DB runs the updated values straight from the SDD that was sent to him as part of this patch, this actually caught that the .45 has received a stronger nerf than initially intended which made it to the Live servers and once more confirms that all changes have made it to the Live game as intended.

Also on the topic of the .45, surely you've noticed that it turns into a 6 stk at 37m when it used to have a 40m effective range.

Their jump accuracy remains unchanged, and on top of that, this is beyond easy to tell because both have different accuracy while jumping (LCR is more accurate, as expected). According to the patch notes, both should have the same accuracy, and the STAR especially should be a third tighter than it currently is.

That's not how modifiers work, it's one value that plays into a bunch of other values, for example Base Accuracy x Marksman Modifier x Jump Accuracy. Here's a comparison image I managed to grab from before the patch went live, as well as a video made by Secrets to show off the difference. These are all done with a stock STAR and the change would be even more apparent if the STAR was equipped with Hunting Sight 3 as that makes the Marksman modifier much better.

Wouldn't be surprised if they forgot to push the car glitch mitigation either.

If you didn't spend that much time on the forums talking nonsense you'd probably be better at telling if the changes made it into the game or not. They all made it into the game and its extremely apparent on the STAR for example.

And so far. Thanks LO. For nothing. 2 years of active serious bug,

As of 64Bit release the bug is no longer affecting actual role progression, its simply a visual bug now so before you bash them for doing nothing you should probably actually look to understand the bug you seem to be so passionate about 🙂

  13. First of all, this is an entirely visual bug the Sniper and Munitions Specialist roles will very likely not be bugged anymore after the Easter event is over, however, there will still be some roles that remain bugged as they were already bugged prior to the Easter Patch, this is on their Radar but right now the focus is on getting EAC going.

I am having terrible trouble with the game as soon as i engage with somebody. Some players its really really bad, others not so much. As soon as my aim is on a player and it goes red,i completely lag out. I manage some shots but ultimately i completely lag, then ragdoll. The rest of the game is smooth as a cucumber. I have my graphic settings right down but still having this issue. Its now become unplayable. Sniper is impossible to use, again nice and smooth but as soon as i land on target, stutter and i jump off the target.

It'd help if you posted your PC specs and when this issue started happening. Outside of that have you tried to close background applications? I have heard of a case recently where razer synapse would make a users fps dip down to 10-20 from 80+ by just moving their mouse.
