rutikiller 0 Posted May 5 Hi all, i'm having a problem with missions, i cannot get into one, been in financial and waterfront for hours and can't get any mission, ita was fine 2 days ago but now i cannot play in the normal district, only in asylum. Is there some sort of shadownban or account limitation of any sort?
CookiePuss 5396 Posted May 6 it sounds like a shadow ban you can hit up support at support@littleorbit.com
BlatMan 744 Posted May 9 I thought getting banned meant you also couldn't join Asylum. There was a matchmaking bug that caused groups to not get matches. I forget if it was the leader or any player that went afk would cause the matchmaking to not start. It might also be that there's no one else ready that meets the matchmaking requirements. 200 players online doesn't mean 200 players are ready. The matchmaking often refuses to match unequal threat groups, who are readied up, if there's equal threat groups who are not ready. You can't get unopposed missions. Add cross district matchmaking, and now you have a larger pool of players who are not ready, that matchmaking is waiting to match you against, but it never happens because they're not playing missions. rutikiller 0 Posted Tuesday at 05:36 PM So apparently little orbit wants to keep long time players from playing this game any further. i got a reply from the support team (Spike) saying that "Upon further review, we have confirmed that unauthorized third-party tools were used on the account. As a result, a restriction has been applied" , so ok i didn't do anything wrong, must be some sort of GFAC bug that sees an application as potential cheat or something, i thought. so i replied asking to be more precise on what software or tool might have caused this situation beacuse i genuinely didn't know, he replied saying "We understand your perspective and the time and effort you’ve invested in the game. Please note that the restriction applied to your account was thoroughly investigated and validated based on the evidence available to us. At this time, the restriction will remain in place, and we are unable to make any changes to it. Please be informed that we are also not at liberty to disclose further details regarding the review or the action taken." which is a way of saying we don't even care if you have been restricted, we might not even know what caused that, stick to our decision. does it sound anything remotely fair to you? if they don't disclose to me what caused this situation how can i be held responsible for anything i might have done? a 15 years 3 character account ,400+ dollar spent in g1c, getting restricted to only fight club for what? are they police officers? only their word counts as truth? until they show me the exact cause for this situation is their word against mine. what interest would i have to get a 15 year 400 dollar account banned? their last reply was "As previously stated, while we understand your request for further clarification, we are unable to provide any additional details on this matter, and the restriction applied to the account will not be changed. As much as we would like to provide more information, the details shared in our previous responses are sufficient to outline the current status of the account." and "We have already discussed the status of your account, and the decision regarding the restriction remains unchanged. The case has been thoroughly reviewed, and no further action can be taken to alter the outcome. Please be advised that this will be the final response on this matter, as we have already provided a clear and conclusive answer regarding your account’s status." 15 years players getting banned without any reason and the inhability to get a solution or a "hey you used this software which we consider a violation of our rules, please be carefull do not use this softeware again, your account will return normal in 2 weeks time, do this again and you will be banned permanently" which i would happily accept. the verdict is up to you reading this forum post. We don't do this because this would be exactly what cheaters wan. As unfortunate and frustrating as this can be if the Anti-Cheat is to succeed then cheaters can't have any information to work with otherwise we would create a loop in which we detect a cheat then cheaters reach out to ask what got them banned to which we would tell them what gave them away. We're also very careful with what we shadowban for and are constantly updating our detections fixing false positives and retroactively removing them from affected accounts should they arise. In my experience almost all claims of "false positives" ended up being down to a user running a macro whilst playing the game which is considered cheating. That said, even if a false positive goes unnoticed the system does not apply permanent shadowbans meaning that shadowbans do expire after which players will return to the regular matchmaking pool. BlatMan 744 Posted Wednesday at 02:14 AM Getting strait to the point, by giving players the banned error code, would at least generate less support tickets. Does a banned player use up a server slot for other players if they're in a district?
SuperConker 8 Posted Wednesday at 12:53 PM (edited) It is extremely unprofessional to restrict a player without telling them that they are being restricted. An Error Code at log-in (telling them they can only play Asylum for, let's say 30 days) would create a lot less confusion. The online shadowban-culture needs to be stopped, it's a big enough problem as it is. We don't need good-old games like APB following suit... And no, I don't give a rats patootie if Little Orbit disagrees with me here, as long as I know that I'm right. CookiePuss 5396 Posted Wednesday at 06:44 PM If it weren't for shadow bans, I think you would have just been outright banned.
SuperConker 8 Posted Thursday at 01:50 PM (edited) Don't try and sugar-coat it, shadowbanning is wrong no matter how you put it. Either put an Error Code at log-in, or don't do anything at all. Edited Thursday at 07:06 PM by SuperConker
