Iiits network move season again!

Both games are affected. Currently, most info is from APB side, FE isnt getting separate updates yet.

@APB:Reloaded as we're nearing the 12 hour mark we would like to provide and update on the server migration. The first servers have been moved to their new locations and are powered up allowing our remote networking team to start configuring and bringing parts of the game back online.

 

However, there were quite a few delays getting to this point which means that we're going to need to extend the maintenance by another 2 to 4 hours to complete the necessary steps to bring the game back online.

Sorry folks, there's been a bit of a miscommunication internally.

 

Our LA Datacenter has been experiencing issues which has caused a lot of issues for us as most of our infrastructure is hosted there.

 

We have been planning to move to a new datacenter for some time now and were preparing to do so the last two days, seeing as our NA West region servers have become essentially unplayable last night we decided to pull the trigger and start moving all of our server racks to the new Datacenter. This started at around 5:15 AM UTC.

 

We failed to communicate this to you all, I am sorry about that and I'll try and make sure that this won't happen the next time we do major infrastructure work which will take the game down for an extended period of time.

 

As for the progress, we're nearly there, the servers are powered up in the new datacenter and we're currently configuring everything so we can bring all of our games and services back online. We don't expect this to take that much longer with APB coming back in the next hour (if all goes to plan) and Fallen Earth coming back soon after. [1]

Self hosting has been a struggle and we've been seeing a ton of issues that ended up being down to where the servers were being hosted. As an example, our NA West APB players have been struggling to even play as their latency would shoot up to 500+ with large amounts of packetloss during peak times which rendered the game basically unplayable for most players in that region.

 

If you visited the website in recent days you will have noticed that it will constantly time out

Logins/downloads failing frequently

Just all sorts of instability which all should be resolved as part of this move [2]
