8GB ram, i7 3770, GTX1050ti...on windows 7 64bit...80-100 fps...whats your specs? If anything this could be a big help with is the new call of duty battle royale(WARZONE)for 97GB file size. Hell to run that game with my specs for what i thought I had future proof system.🤔 I can run Bf3 and 4 Ultra at 1080p Max with over 60 -100 fps. I managed to get war zone stable with 60fps lock using page file extension, bit NVIDIA 3d settings sweet spot and some config file With 8GBRAM and Win7. I really don't understand how APB can run bad for you, Maybe you should watch warzone performance fix videos and apply it to APB. For a game that requires 16GB RAM WIN 10 64bit. I'm not straying off topic about another game just to let you know.

    My Specs are:

    Ryzen 9 3900x

    RTX 2070 SUPER OC

    16Gb 3200Mhz

The Stutters in APB are related to your drives. I hit 144FPS consistenly in APB but there are still stutters, because those are unrelated to overall performance.

  2. Hello,

I am posting this here because I do not only want to post this guide, but also start a discussion about any other fixes that the average APB player might not know. First of all:

This fix is not my creation. It was shown to me by a person named Secrets, you might have seen them on the APB Community Discord.

    [Information]

    What are we doing?

We are going to use some of our RAM to create a virtual hard drive (A RAM Disk) and link APB's Asset Cache to that hard drive with a CMD command (symlink).

RAM Disks can be a lot faster than even an SSD (depending on age)  and allow us to bypass some of the OS level issues that APB has.

I don't want to go into too much detail, just know that this is perfectly safe to use. Google is your friend if you feel unsure. Keywords: RAM Disk, Symlink

    What can this do?

    - The amount of stutters when ingame might be significantly reduced.

    - The game might no longer freeze and/or otherwise lock itself, ever.

    Important Info:

    - Results will depend on how fast your RAM is.

    - A minimum of 4GB RAM (for the virtual hard drive) is recommended for the average APB Session (You can lower this, but you will get a out of memory crashes.

    - You will have to redo the process when you restart your PC. It takes about 30 seconds once you get used to the inputs.

    - Once you have set it up, you just launch APB normally.

    - If you have a newer SSD this might not give you any benefit or even worsen your performance. Players with older Drives benefit a lot more from this.

    [Guide]

EDIT: There is an error in the original video, here is the remaster that actually works:

    [Discussion]

Do you have any "unorthodox" fixes that might yield results and you wanna share?

placing a forfeit option behind a time restriction ultimately results with a quitter afk'ing for that time restriction, then proceeding to forfeit. no difference is made, this is obvious to you based on what youve said at the end of your reply. of course not regarding all games or communities, but specifically for APB, it could range from something as simple as recognizing an enemy player's name, indicating that the mission is infact an 'unwinnable match', which is ground for 'taking the easy way out'. obviously this issue is behavioral, meaning that you cant treat it with the assumption that people are behaving according to the structure.

your previous post, you mentioned that, 'if you really want to, you can spam out of district or close your game'. thats what we already are doing when our opposition determines that theyd rather afk. streamlining this as a proper option funnels you against players actually willing to play you more quickly.

the main point here is that im not advocating quitting, im pointing out that a notable amount of players do quit for their own valid/invalid reasons, and theres no mechanic that can with certainty make them play, so there needs to be a mechanic that lets willing players conveniently get themselves out of a would-be abandoned mission.

Both sides of the coin here have pros & concs and I am well aware of them. In my opinion, the proper solution would be to develop a matchmaking system that minimizes the amount of times a surrender would even be justified. Either way, implementing a surrender function into the current game is really about picking the lesser evil, which is simply a bandaid that I don't think is good for the game.

tolerance of duration is variable, what you mentioned about inevitable losses is far more concrete. time/duration shouldnt be the factor in what determines whether or not a feature like this is positive because again, from that lesser experienced player's perspective, that soon-to-be loss is just as inevitable as the MOBA players match.

Time HAS to play a role in order to ensure that players atleast try. The individual tolerance is not important here, apart from determining an average which you can use. That's why League has a 15min minimum requirement for an early surrender. If you do not lock that function behind a timer, you will have people surrendering after the first team wipe. Taking the easy way out is far more common than you actually having an unwinnable match.

Considering what Frosi said, the chances of you having an unwinnable match will be lesser in the future. I see it all the time, people die once and then AFK the entire stage. Sure, not having to wait out the timer would be beneficial for both sides in this situation, but I just have a feeling that this will be horribly abused.

  5. I can understand a surrender function in a game that requires a relatively long time investment per game, such as MOBAs. No one wants to play another 45 minutes dragging out the inevtibable. In APB? Most missions don't take that long. If you really want to, you can just spam in chat and get kicked to the lobby, or leave the game. This sounds more like a more convenient way to skip any form of challenge, since you don't give up your district slot.

    Not a fan.

  6. I would suggest that you try to the enhance the already existing color schemes within the game, if you do want to adjust colors for the video. A primarily blue-ish tint that you have used it very rare within APB. Only a few areas in the game have a color scheme that can adapt a tint like that. One being a minor part of north-west Financial. You can see that when you use those color changes in Waterfront that it just doesn't fit right.

In general I am against external color adjustment for APB. The way the UI looks makes it so that whenever you slap som adjustments one, you have a struggle with the UI. At some points it was hard to even read the UI because of that problem.

Basically try a warmer approach to colors, especially in Waterfront.

  7. I think a reason as for why the development process is so selectively revealed is because a lot of it is probably boring and could potentially give bad PR. It's not like they are developing a lot of new and cool features.

If the process was more open it should be restricted to only actual APB players.

Edit: Warframe devstreams are pretty succesful, but I would argue that is mostly because we usually get the stuff within a few weeks after they are shown. With APB no one can say how long until we get the stuff.

  8. Oblivion is one of my favorite guns. It can 4 shot up to like 95m with CJ3. Also you can run Reflex Sight and still have perfect accuracy while strafing. Also keep in mind that 3 shots of the oblivion are like 95% health gone, with that much over damage you can really pressure enemies. It also means that just a small bit of damage to an enemy turns them into a 3STK.

Please... stop complaining. With the game in lo hands apb will turn into a kindergarten.

By 2022 guns wont do damage but fire a water splash and you wont be able to shoot in other players eyes. You wont be able to drive, only adult civilians. You wont be able to cross the streets alone, you will be escorted by an authorized gm (adult obviously). After 8 pm your character will be provided with a warm bed and you wont be able to play while its dark. You wont be able to create symbols anymore, instead you will be able to use forms with the basic colours so you learn their names. Civilians wont say anything anymore (they usually say adult words), they will play baby sleep music when they need to say something. You wont be able to use underwear anymore but diapers, whatever throusers you use will be baggy in that zone and you will make poop sounds time to time.

And so on. The game will be the most blanced game you will be able to ever see in your whole existence thanks to matt ;,^)

I'm sorry you didn't have a mother figure in your life but this isn't really the place.

    hot take:

all N5/P5 should do is put the VIP marker thing above your head until your opp kills you

    Don't @ me

    Hell no.

At least with the star on the minimap you can still fool people by using vertical environment to your advantange. For example the stairs in the middle of asylum, with 3 different floors. The VIP marker reveals your position entirely.

  11. As someone who has actually used both DMRs for several dozen (if not a couple hundred) hours.

Don't use the DMR-AV for cars, atleast not as a goto choice for AV. You are better off using an ALIG or a Dog Ear. The DMR-AV only really shines at 85m+ or if the enemy isn't running a pioneer/vegas.

Don't get me wrong, it has insane hard damage. BUT it is too slow to consistenly deal with the vegas/pioneer meta. Enemies will almost always manage to drive out of your line of sight or out of render distance. They will also manage to successfully drive up to you and attempt to kill you before the pioneer is even remotely close to critical damage.

The DMR-AV is however the best choice for squishy car missions, if you can play from 85m+ range. ALIG being the king here again.
