I would appreciate if you read my response to the other guy in this same post. It explains why working backwards makes no sense. They are implementing features that are of no use at this point.

    1

I understand what you're saying, but someone must exist to keep up the website, what if they find a problem in their code

/database that exposes user data? What if a zero-day is discovered in one of the plugins they use? Things like that are incredibly serious and need to be handled by SOMEONE, you need to prepare for the future to some amount, you can't live your life working on day-to-day problems and then be met with a serious one that you can't handle because you don't have the right people on hand, and a dev team always needs to have the right people on hand at a moment's notice. Zero-day exploit patching, securing customer payment data, problems with payment providers, these are all things that need to be handled in a timely manner.

What if suddenly ARMAS went down because of payment issues? You know the ones I'm talking about. What would they do? They have no web devs, they have nobody to fix it, nobody to look into it. What if an API becomes obsolete and replaced by something else? Nobody to dev the sites, nobody to update the APIs.

They need to prepare for the future, web development is an ever-changing field, and they need SOMEONE to be able to maintain the sites. (ARMAS, forums, homepage, etc)

You can't just fire Y to hire X because then Y's job will not be done, X can't do Y's job. Y could do Y's job but Y is no longer here.

  2. I think it'd be a very bad move to fire all the people doing the web development, yes it's a different area, but it's a different area that resources need, no matter how big or small, skeleton crew or not, the web side of things needs to be tended to by SOMEBODY. I understand that you understand that X cannot go to Y and vice versa, so why should Y be removed if there's a legitimate use for them, no matter how big or small?

  3. Sorry for the bump, but this is definitely an issue on lower-end machines, my PC sucks and I get this on occasion when loading into districts, loading back in tends to fix it, but it's very finicky and tends to be quite the annoyance when it occurs after spam joining a district, it also seems I can't be tabbed out while loading in (for obvious reasons.)

Did you finish your shaming? That kind of speech is boring already.

The fact you think I've shamed you for calling you out on the weapons you use not being adjusted is hilarious. You started it, now because you can't end it you're pulling the victim card? Lol'd. Go back to your tinfoil lined room bud.

When i played against you you barely went positive, I dont take opinions from that kind of people.

    (me using pmg, HAH)

That's coming from someone who has never won a mission against me in their life, even going as far as to not get a single kill in one of them outside of car det. You also hackusated me before. Nice try though.

    a) i could still enjoy the game time to time without fear that my efforts or weapons i liked went to trash. And actually had the game installed.

Every time I played you, you were using car det and PMG/Volcano/OPGL. None of those got touched. Not sure where your complaints of the weapons going to trash are coming from. 🙃

The HVR being changed doesn't stop you from using that, I'm using it and going 3:1-4:1 KDR often, or you could use your usual PMG/Volcano/OPGL, you could even learn the "overpowered" (as you put it) Carbine, or...any of the other guns in the game.

I can't speak for the other person, but for me 100ms is about the limit where it becomes unplayable, I'm also used to playing on local Counter Strike and Rainbow Six servers, less than 20ms, and before that mostly split screen console games, so my perspective is probably skewed.

Eh, I can play at ~130ms, even higher on the occasion that EU's ping shoots up in district for some reason. Speaking from experience. Going from 60ms to 130ms is an adjustment, but with EU being the only server that is even semi-alive, I need to play there.

Please? Funny how the game looks worse now than it did then.

A lot of that comes down to shaders, the RTW shaders were better but I don't think they'll ever be restored. I was working on my own shader library to replace the RTW feel and look while also being marginally more optimized than the current ones, but I will never finish it because of the ruling on shaders.

  9. Here's the real, hard truth.

The game being 9 years old means nothing, look at FFXI, WoW, and FFXIV, subscription model games which have improved and taken different forms with the releases of expansions over and over, is it the same core game? Yes, definitely. FFXIV 4.x still runs on FFXIV 1.x's broken codebase, but they can still produce content and change how the game functions on a fundamental level in 2 years, something APB hasn't had in the past 8 years. 🤔

Until we get devs that don't break things every update and think they can use RPCs for everything, regardless of if it's something client/server exclusive or important data (e.g. FF & BE), this game won't get better. Figure out how RPCs work, figure out server and client replicated fields, put the devs through a UE game development course if you need to, this isn't rocket science. Is the codebase bad? Yes, that's a fair excuse, but I wouldn't say your code is any better, ex-Reloaded.

    Short-midrange AR seems about right

No, it really doesn't, because that's the STAR's role. Don't put the N-TEC in the STAR role. Make the N-TEC less accurate in CQC so that it can be the mid-long range AR that consistently loses to other weapons in CQC (and the area between CQC and mid-range, such as the Carbine range)

Then it's literally just a spam LMB to win at all ranges gun, while still being better than some of the SMGs in this game for close range.

Examples being...? Norseman guns don't count.
N-TEC loses to PMG, N-TEC loses to OCA, N-TEC loses to Manic, N-TEC loses to Curse, etc, etc, etc...

  11. Shot 1: Hit, but was far away so could've been bad RNG
Shot 2: Hit, but reasonable low damage because of RNG, Showstopper has quite a wide bloom.
    Shot 3: Hit, should've been a meatshot.
    Shot 4: Clear miss.
    Shot 5: Clear miss.
    Shot 6: Hit, should've been a meatshot.

Not rocket science folks, the enemy should've taken a lot of damage or died. Bad RNG isn't an excuse for this to be +32.

  12. K quoting is broken because this forum really fucking sucks and somehow it hasn't been fixed, anyway, yeah fuck the deli, I'd rather work the night shift and get my extra dollar without all the requirements of working the deli. Far more strict (obviously) and also much more of a pain in the patootie with worse hours, they tried to have my patootie working like 12PM-8PM and I was like "Nope." because no way in hell I'm working that late, I'd rather work all night and leave before traffic gets bad.

Some people will do anything to get any advantages they legally can, even if it's only a very slight advantage like this one.

It's an FPS config lol, what advantages does it give? The inability to see through a fence? Black smoke from blown up cars/grenades? Yeah, d00d it's so AdVaNtAgEoUs to not see SHIT.

You'd be surprised how many non-potato-pc players do this to their game, when their game runs absolutely fine on the highest settings.

4:3 makes it easier to aim for some people, due to the models being wider than on 16:9 or other modern aspect ratios.
    2
They are PERCEIVED as larger, that does not MAKE them larger. By making them about 33% larger via stretching 4:3 (which I don't do), the models also travel across the screen 33% faster.

Clearly this change is fucking stupid if you look at that latest video. Revert pls.

You don't remove a good feature because of a bug, you fix the bug to polish the feature.
Since when was this suddenly a feature and not a bug caused by the last update?
