you know what would help out a lot of newer players, and also many veterans? having the weapon stats ingame...
instead of these broken bars, implement text like on the APBDB.

I'm confused about the COBR-A here... did it always have 50m range? I thought since it's more of an automated version of the carbine / huntress with great hipfire accuracy, it had 40m range... the APBDB says it's 50m though... so what's fact here? someone help me out, thanks 🙂

https://db.apbvault.net/ is basically APB DB mkII and it's currently being mantained by speedz

It shows the COBR-A as having a 50m range

That was kind of the point. To make rifles more viable, and assault rifles less appealing for long range engagements.

Which is a good change imo.
I think you should be able to hit semi consistently at 50-55 with an AR - you just shouldn't be able to straight up outgun anything else, which the drop-off change should take care off rather nicely. Either that, or have a TTK that's on par to that of rifles, which is where the new IR comes on

  3. I would honestly argue most secondary weapons shouldn't deal full damage 40m out. The RFP is gaining a lot of traction with the more tryhard crowd and it's really annoying to fight against

Would this also mean you'd be limited to a single grenade if you run Flak Jacket, or should they make it so you still get two low yields with flak jacket?

Unless they were to make a specific exception for flak jacket, one low yield only.

As I said in the OP:

Even with Flak Jacket's capacity reduction, their low weight (flight pattern and fuse too) would still make them a formidable option that in no way would feel underpowered

  5. Given the host of benefits these grenades have over regular frags, and the relatively high damage output, it doesn't really make sense - balancing wise - for players to be able to carry 3 of them.

Their throw arc and reduced timer make it much easier to nail targets than a regular Frag grenade - and on top of that you get 3 of them, with each grenade being capable of inflicting more than half your health damage!

Even with Flak Jacket's capacity reduction, their low weight would still make them a formidable option that in no way would feel underpowered

I think the higher accuracy (and 40m range) are due to the Whisper and Kris using different base stats, and not the mod. For example, the Silverado SD has the same mod, but doesn't have the Whisper's intrinsic benefits. Strangely enough however, it also equips Cooling Jacket and the red silencer at the same time.

As for the change, it wouldn't make any sense to remove the crouch bonus from the Whisper and keep it on the PMG, especially if the entire OCA range is being nerfed as well. Though honestly the PMG needs much bigger nerfs than having its crouch accuracy decreased. The only excuse to keep it as it is right now is the state of shotguns, but aside from that the weapon has been blatantly overpowered for years.
    Bingo!

I posted about keeping the crouch modifier in the same thread where I brought these to light - I have a feeling people don't quite agree with that (as much as I'd like to see the crouch mod on the whole OCA series).

Funny to see how many of the users going "uh no" are now campaigning for the same change... :,)
As I said before - I really hope the crouch mod gets standardized across all OCA variants, but the extra range on the Whisper series (not even OCA-SD) had to go

Yeah, you might just play some games on a cpu if you're lucky and going to make a lot of sacrifices, having a low resolution, the lowest settings, and low frame rates.

Not sure if anyone would enjoy "gaming" that way.

Your title sure rings true. Again, do you know what the iGPU in a 2200g is like?

I can confirm that the community can influence decisions, they actually looked into making cooling jacket 3 work on burst rifles after I asked for it X)
And they seem to have read what I had to say as well, because the Whisper's 50m range and crouch multiplier are gone

  9. honestly - it's undeniable players as a population have changed. New players just don't have the same bullshoot resilience there used to be.
Why would I put up with APB's crap as a newbie when I can just hop on fortnite / siege / whatever other popular game to get my fix?

If this game needs to have new players hear of it, and most importantly keep them. I hope there'll be a proper marketing push with the 3.5 release, and I hope LO will actually do something to aid newbies instead of listening to salty forum vets who don't even play the fuckin game anymore

    • Thanks 1

  10. are all of you guys posting without reading the thread title or something

If a shitty igpu can manage 15-20fps at 720p I'm pretty confident ryzen's igpu can very well do 30, if not even 60 - considering the little shit can even run fucken DOOM 2016 at 45fps (if you make a lot of sacrifices that is)

EDIT : As a quick comparison.

I used to play APB pretty comfortably at 1024x768 with an Nvidia GT520
The iGPU found in the Ryzen 2200g iirc sits slightly below the performance of an Nvidia GT1030 - so going off by this comparison I don't think you'd be having a truckload of issues

Are you hinging your 2200g purchase solely off this, btw? Or is it just a stopgap?
