And I agree with your disagreement. You are showing that Fang with HS3 has drawbacks compared to IR3-Fang (which is true, HS3 is the lesser of both evils). Fang will surely not be the same at hip-firing, even worse because a mini-OBIR isn't really meant to be hipfired.

I was arguing in favor for pure-RFP. RFP is ultimately losing Marksman Modifier because of HS3-Fang's existence. Players WHO OWN FANG (those who don't might as well not even bother) will have to make a choice on a non-meta-secondary between having slightly better hipfire or better accuracy down range, because it is a secondary and thus doesn't exactly allow attaching/removing modifications. It is just evident that while IR3-Fang shouldn't have existed, HS3-Fang shouldn't either despite being less bad overall.

There's really no getting around the fact that IR3 made balancing the base RFP essentially impossible; anything that felt good with base RFP would be unequivocally better with the IR3 Fang.

Some of us feel that modded secondaries were a bad idea to begin with, but the cat's out of the bag and there's no getting it back in.

To that end, we looked for a mod that: reflects the spirit of the gun; has some precedence; and still offers a slightly unique experience compared to the base gun.

We felt HS3 does so without being a flat upgrade.

I would recommend trying out HS3 Fang for a few days before drawing any concrete conclusions.

Poor design? They are replica of a mauser, pretty iconic gun from WW2 to cinema/ animation like James Bond, star wars, Lupin, Texas films, Clint Eastwood etc series you have no idea what you are talking about 😂

FR0G is based on the HK MK23. It's a mix of the procurement design and trial components; phase 1 LAM (Rocket and Thumbnail), phase 1 front slide serrations, procurement suppressor. The SOCOM in MGS1 was a similar frankengun. Kokoe and Thumbnail have some unique parts that are mostly based on accessories for the airsoft version of the gun.

  3. Personally I've had little issue with most of the points brought up here. LO seems to have gotten a grasp on a real direction for APB's future with the 64 bit work, and has stopped chasing the engine upgrade dragon. The effort spent on implementing and validating work for the current LIVE game is better spent elsewhere; weapon and car balance are largely fine and the outliers that do exist are not game breaking.

Beyond all of that, the misplaced desire to revive the player-base before any meaningful delivery from LO will likely just leave a bad taste in the mouths of those players; "Oh, is the engine upgrade done?" "Oh, is there anything new to do?" Any serious drive to bring back players needs to happen when there's something they can come back to. This game doesn't even run reliably on RTX cards, so many of us can't even play it even if we wanted to.

I am glad to see that you are making further changes, I actually like them. I don't understand, the Scoped N-TEC 5, it didn't have to be the N-TEC 5 with the Hunting Sight? I checked the database and these guns were the same.

The Scoped N-tec is quite similar to the N-tec 5 stat wise but plays quite different due to the Scoped N-tec losing most of its accuracy when moving, even in marksmanship mode.

They are visually distinct, as well; the Scoped N-TEC has a scope on it.

  5. Removing the Notoriety/Prestige system is removing a core part of APB; I personally am opposed to it being removed, and would much prefer to see improvements made to it.

What are the big pain points of the current system?

    • Players TKing to lose N5/P5
    • No way for Enforcers to bribe down
    • "Mission interference" AKA
    DXR7i2g.gif

These are really the three biggest issues, and unless I'm overlooking something obvious, every other problem stems from one of these.

The in-lore explanation of N5/P5 is that whoever reaches that level is so dangerous to the opposing faction that it becomes open season on them to literally anyone in the district; the TKing issue could ostensibly be hand-waved with the lore as well, given the notion that Enforcers are basically criminals with a badge, but I'm not 100% on board with that.

The system needs some looking at for sure, but should absolutely not go away.

One hour in the game and he already tbags and shittalks, something tells me he's not really a sunshine. APB doesn't need more toxic players, I can't feel bad about him.

Being teabagged is hardly offensive, I usually just shrug it off; there are much worse ways of being rude to people than rapidly crouch spamming. Hell, it's even how people say "hi" in plenty of other games.

Agreed. But that's because the current status of the game is:

    3. Being treated by its new ownership without the seriousness it requires.

Though this would be a fun event. It's not going to really be effective unless changes are applied to its problems, and the community are shown signs of efficient use of time by its developers. Otherwise this is just reward to players who are complicit in furthering the deconstruction of a game that many other customers would love to see flourish into its full potential.

Totally ignoring that this thread exists, I guess?

didn't bullets have greater range than 100 meters?

I think LTL even had longer than 35 meter range.

I would love to have the old TTK/TTS back along with the range we used to have during RTWs time.

APB has always had a 100m hard render range.

Damage dropoff (weapon curve system) was introduced after Reloaded launched, which heavily contributed to the meta we have now. Before dropoff, RSA and ACT-44 could counter CR762 and HVR to a degree; now you hardly see anyone using either of those sidearms.

I'm also in the "current TTK is too fast" camp, but people like to argue that when Reloaded trialed RTW TTK districts, the community reaction at those times was sufficient to judge RTW TTK as not worth bringing back; those districts, however, were not RTW TTK because they included Reloaded mechanics, ultimately negating the experiments' results.
