    Yes you will need to make a fresh character. In your mail you will find various weapons, vehicles, clothing, etc as well as a bunch of weapon mods, money, and joker tickets.

    Those that know about the game as past/current players, know what's under that sugar coating.

      Those that have never heard of APB, still won't know about a new title 

    cuz they don't know what Advertising is. 

     When I talk about APB in Public to younger folks, they have never heard of it

When I see that I get an empty mission with a full low silver/bronze team I abandon it because matchmaking and current pop can't guarantee me a balanced opposition. Most of the time I get pre-made full gold team against me with my low babies. Also when I get a defending mission I also want to know I can rely on my teammates or I have do it on my own without a basic teamplay.

    Fair enough. I’m not willing to wait that long for matches.

    Makes sense to have it anonymous so people have to judge the content of the letter by itself without things like “Oh Player-X wrote this? They’re an idiot not even worth reading.”
