  1. It's odd that all of these things are not already built in to the game/options, especially seeing how long the game has been out. I'm not a coder or game designer but I can't imagine that would require much effort to implement.

  2. For me it's this:  You're told what the objective is but there's like an unlimited number of ways to do it. It's up to you, using any weapon/car/mods setup you like, looking any way you like, in an open map, together with other people/friends. APB is rewarding if you're a tactically creative or creative with design, music, art etc. You get to actually use whatever skills you have as a person. In most other games there's one or a couple of ways to do something only. Not here. There are so many elements which can make the same exact missions feel completely different almost every time you play them. If you get tired of your gun, clothes, theme, colors, car, mods.... you just change it. There's also something about the gun mechanics that I find addictive which is hard to put words on.

There's really nothing else like it.

  3. I hope the community takes the chance to show that just like Little Orbit, we too want to contribute to a better, more mature and friendly community. If we help out, everything will be much smoother, things will happen quicker and it'll be a much better experience for everyone. I'll explain what I mean by "help out":

Just after LO took over APB, nothing had happened to the actual game itself yet, but the improved general attitude for the future brought back so many players (and some new ones) who enjoyed a better atmosphere than in a long time. The game hadn't changed, but it felt better due to our own attitudes. The game felt a bit more fun again which rubbed off on the general behaviour in the community. It's a good example of what we can do ourselves as a community. It's just a tiny mental shift but it has a great effect. Nothing had happened in "reality"/ in the game (yet). There was a shift in our minds and look at the effect it had, in actual reality.

Stop asking too much about your tickets when you know they have a good reason for being swamped. They'll get to it.

Let LO do their thing now, be patient, behavelet them work and things will happen.

  4. [removed stuff I was wrong about]

About double the amount of spawn points would be nice.

    Car spawners help.

As a side note, when you spawn into fightclub after just arriving to the district, you should get to select the same spawn point as if you just died and not the same entry spawn points every time, beause you'll spawn there no matter how close any enemies are.

  5. Color information that the crosshair is now on the enemy hitbox is a silly thing to have in a game because it's so easy to make a color triggerbot. BE may prevent scripts of various types or with various functions, but there are ways to get around that too, I'm afraid. With shader editing, changing world colors etc, things like the enemy nametags could be used to make scripted color aimbots (100% external), so this is one reason why shader modifications should be made 100% instantly bannable. I know shaders wont be editable in UE 3.5, but right now they are.

Related to this, having an overlay crosshair should just be made an ingame option. People have them built in as features in their monitors anyways. That way people will stop complaining about it being "unfair" and everyone will be on the same boat.

Locking the config is not going to happen.

See any unreal game. (e.g. fortnite / PUBG that both use BE)

People seem to think that these changes have way more effect on the game than they actually do.

Changing stuff in configs is a common thing, and changing stuff in games that run BE is also common.

    See:

People are blowing this specific part out of proportion if you ask me.

    Shaders, that's a different talk.

Hm yeah. Looking at those links, I see your point.

    Alright, fair enough.

It may sound counter-intuitive to do so for many reasons but do tell me, regarding publicly admitted cheats as well. How many of those would you know for sure are legitimate, and how many of those are done for the sake of attention? Yes, believe it or not, albeit negative, attention is attention and it is a fair assumption a certain amount of players just thought it was an amusing thing to do. Now, take into consideration the surroundings those players were in. When you go against a foul player(s) for days, weeks, months, what choice do you legitimately have? Some choose to report and complain, some choose to foul play themselves.

Now, don't get me wrong I do  NOT justify this sort of behaviour, but the environment it came to exist in was already damaged enough to participate in spreading the issue even more. Cheats and hacks for APB are available on the internet. They are among the most popular ones. Why? Because no matter how much of a fair player you are, soon enough you will get sick and tired of getting punished by an unfair advantage so you will do one of two things; cheat yourself, or quit. Of which one of the options is temporarily good for you, and none are good for the community.

And with all that in mind, our support is doing a lot of hard work as it is. Going through every single ban to make sure if it is legitimate or not would take so much time that they would never get it done. Have some faith in the way stuff has been dealt with and you will soon see the progress that was anticipated for so long. As I stated before, risk of unbanned players doing damage again is significantly mitigated just by BattlEye alone, while there will be other side means of protection present as well.

That would most likely be the case.

People are just paranoid since they've been told that they can't change any files, but AL is fine.

Seems a bit like a two steps forward, one step back kinda deal.

Yeah. The way I see it, making manual config edits off limits through BE would require AL to be fully integrated into the APB ingame settings first which would most likely not happen until earliest the 3.5 update (speculating here). EDIT: BUT .. it still means it could be off limits in a not too distant future.

  9. We've already started seeing GM presence in districts and we'll  be seeing a lot more of that. Battleye integration for APB is about 75% of the way there.

Be patient. It's going in the right direction and it's going to be great 🙂

I agree that there should be colorblind mode that allows you to pick different sets of colours for things, but messing with text (background?) opacity would be an advantage and everyone would use it because if the text had a background "block" behind it, it would be almost like having a huge downwards pointing arrow on top of everyone.

Well the text itself could just have 0% opacity without there being a block behind it.
