  1. There's actually a bunch of Golds, they're all in Silver district and a few in Bronze. Which causes the Silvers to go to Bronze and causes the Bronze to quit. Move all the Golds to Gold district and there would be people there. Some of them will de-threat though to get easy OP and go Gold again, which is why there should be an auto-move. I've been round and round with other Golds on this, and it always come down to them saying: I would like easier OP from time to time, so I don't have to go 100% all the time. One way around this would be to make threat per character and not account wide, for those times you want to chill with easier OP or play with low threat friends without bringing them to Gold.
  2. If you remove threat (like other shooters), then you should remove the ability to team up / premade (like other shooters). There should also be a 10min or so penalty for abandoning a mission, or remove that feature all together so they can't keep abandoning until the odds are stacked in their favor. Keep in mind that no Trainers, Green, Bronze or Silvers are calling for threat to be removed. It's only some high rank Golds who don't want to play against other high rank Golds all the time. They want some easier matches here and there. Everyone is happy playing against other people of their threat except Golds. You have high rank Golds calling for threat to be removed so that lower ranks can "get better", and yet, they don't want to play against each other to "get better". Golds that want to get better are playing against other Golds, they're not on the forum asking for no threat. Plus, if and when everyone is in one big pool with phasing, the system will still group you by your skill level, which means you will be playing people at your skill level all the time. If you automatically move players once they threat up with the current system, there would be no point in de-threating and all districts would have people in them. Also, this would accurately mimic a future phasing system. Take the ability to choose the district out of the hands of the players, which will also mimic future phasing. Then instead of one district with 40 and one with 10, you would have two districts with 25. Once they have the ability to phase missions, then remove threat from all districts. The system can then group people up and move them into districts automatically based on population. Group A in district 1 matches best with Group B in district 2, move Group B into Group A's district / instance (or vice-versa) and start the mission.

One thing I would really like to see is: Able to progress any contact from any mission district Yeah, this needs to already be a thing. At the very least, make it so Trainer, Green and Bronze are the only threats allowed in Bronze district. Silver and Gold can join any silver or gold districts. But if that becomes a thing, threat should be per character and not account wide. For times when you're just chilling or want to play in Bronze for whatever reason, maybe with noob friends. But if you go ham and threat up, it'll auto-move you out. Bronze and lower need somewhere to be noob and learn without getting steamrolled by silvers and fake gold with legendries and 2k+ hours. Noobs are fresh blood and nothing can survive without fresh blood. When you pick a district, something along these lines happens: If district not full and player threat equals district threat, then move the player to the district When you threat up, there's something like this: On player threat up, send notification: You are now new threat (a little banner pops up for a few seconds on the left of the screen) Seems like all that would need to be done is to do something similar when you threat up as when joining a district: On player threat up, send notification: You are now new threat If new threat greater than district threat, then show message box: Your threat is too high for this district. You will automatically be moved in 10 seconds Get districts by population (high to low) which are not full and are their same threat, then move the player to the district Optionally, any group members would get a message like: On group member threat up, show message box: Group member name is now new threat and will be moved to a new threat district. Would you like to join them? (with a 10 sec timer too) If they pick Yes, then move the player to the same district (similar to how you can move a whole group to a new district) If they did this, I would also do a little advertising: New engine come soon, here's a video! Come join the game now and get ready! Etc... Get some new blood in and have a place for them to noob out. Having those differences entices players to try the other side though. Cash shop versions of the cars should be any faction IMO, just no sirens / taxi accessories. If you want a car from the other faction, you have to buy it with cash. An optional cosmetic thing that gets the game money. This probably won't get added until after the engine upgrade. For PvE, not too keen about bots in mission districts. But something that might work later on is something similar to what GTA 4 had. A mode called Team Mafiya Work which had AI cops chase you while you do a heist in an instanced area. Could do AI crims and have enforcer players try to take them down also. I think racing worked the same way, everyone spawns into an instance of the district. It might split the population a little bit, but it will also bring in new players and keep existing ones that burn out on PvP. People who would mainly play AI most of the time, also probably aren't the type who would play a PvP only game. Those new PvE players might give the PvP a go and vice-versa. With a healthy population, it would work fine. The population is low because there's not many new players. There's not many new players because they get rofl stomped by silvers and fake golds. Silvers and golds rofl stomp new players because the population is low. And around and around it goes...
  4. Yeah, an opt out of 1v1 matches would be nice. I don't mind 2v2, but actually prefer when it goes above 4v4, those are really fun! I would rather wait longer for a 2v2 or higher or tick the option off if I just want something asap.
  5. IMO, the respawn system is enough punishment. The people who like the themes: Leave it on The people who don't like the themes, but want others to hear their theme: Leave it on While the rest of us who really don't like them: Turn it off For the last group, they probably already have their Music folder renamed, so the only difference would be a less hassle in-game option. Putting aside that some themes are made just to make people's ears bleed, I would turn it off just to be more immersive. I think a volume slider would be the best option.
  6. This isn't a new suggestion, but it's something I would really like to see added to the engine upgrade since you guys are already coding stuff. There are a couple workarounds to disable death themes, but they all have major drawbacks. Blocking the player: This isn't really an option IMO. You only fit about 50 people in the block list and once blocked you can no longer talk to them. Renaming the "Music" folder: This stops all custom made music from playing including music used in cars, social district and boom boxes. When updating APB, it will re-download the Music folder unless it's renamed back before updating which is a hassle. If you dig through the forums, you can find a few suggestions on how to make the death themes less obnoxious. One practical method is just to have the MVP's death theme play at the end of the mission. But considering how loud, annoying and obnoxious most people death themes are, I would prefer to not hear them at all. But... I would like to be able to hear custom made music that can be used in cars and boom boxes. I really like the idea of making my own music, but if I have the choice between (death themes and music) or (no death themes and no music), I'll take the latter hands down. Suggestion: I think ideally, there would be a separate volume control for death themes that doesn't affect custom made music. Although the easiest way would probably be just adding a check box in the audio section like: Play Death Themes ([default] Yes / No) If a user selects not to play death themes, their death themes won't play for other people either. If they want their death themes to be heard, they would have to leave it on Enabled and be able to hear others. I know some people put a lot of time and effort into making their death themes and want other people to hear them, but they are far out numbered by the people with the "RIIIING HELLO HELLO HELLO RIIIIING HELLO RIIING" themes. When I rename the Music folder effectively disabling death themes, nobody is the wiser. They have no clue their super annoying theme isn't blasting into my headphones. All I'm asking is for a built in option to disable them or adjust their volume to 0%.
