  1. Baking the lighting on the maps apb has must take an insane amount of time even with decent computers. Knowning G1 at the time they probably couldn't afford to do that. Little Orbit, though not initially, might bake the lighting to fix the shadows, given that they are much more well equiped than G1. Also you're absolutely right about oversaturation. In the current apb the oversaturation makes grey/neutral color concrete turn yellow, but in the engine upgrade it's a more neutral color that's still being oversaturated. They fix a few visual things with the engine upgrade and it's pretty much perfect.
  2. I thought that RTW did their bloom perfectly. Mainly because they got things to bloom without clipping to white. The sky had a nice bloom, but still retained 100% detail. If you look at the engine upgrade and current APB, the bloom in the sky comes at the cost of losing detail. I think right now RTW and engine 3.5 are at the same level, but if engine 3.5 had the saturation fixed so things wouldn't clip to white, and changed the circle bloom to the cross shaped anamorphic bloom RTW used, it would be perfect.
  3. I'm running an I5-4440, a GTX 760 with 2gb video ram, the game is installed on a hard drive, and I have 8gb of ram. My framerate is constantly running smooth in the 80fps range and I never have any stutters. The only instance where I lag is when I have at least 4 or 5 cars blown up beside me. The flames from 4 or more blown up cars make my fps go down a bit, but not by much and the framerate is still consistent. The only reason I can think of why people can't run the game with good hardware is optimization or something in their system is slowing it down. Optimization is more likely because I can run APB perfectly on max settings, but my system struggles to run Garry's Mod ,which is a basic patootie game.
  4. It looks like you set your game to fucking potato graphics. I don't think the GPU is the problem since the GTX 1050 is slightly better than the GTX 760(which can run max settings) so you should be able to run the game perfectly on max settings
  5. I have a neutral opinion because the Realtime Worlds artstyle of apb and the artstyle for G1's engine upgrade both look visually pleasing and I would be perfectly fine with one or the other. It would be interesting to see what you guys think.
  6. when driving cars in apb there used to be this subtle tilting of the camera when steering. It looked really cool, but for whatever reason it was removed from the game. It would be cool if that was added back as a gameplay option in the menu. And along with that I think the visual style of the game should be changed to something closer to RTW's artstyle(this is shown in a video below about the Machina/Balkan cars) Something else I want to bring up is the fact that a while ago G1 broke the car audio so that many cars are missing sound components in their engine sounds. One of the most noticable ones are from the Machina/Balkan, and the Morai(the issue is not isolated to only these cars, but affects every car in the game). The Machina/Balkan cars used to have a component that added engine bay noise with the revs alongside the exhaust noise. Now it's just exhaust noise, which sound incomplete and kinda like crap on its own. The same goes for the Moirai which also had this sound from the engine bay combined with exhaust. Now it's just exhaust and for some reason they lowered the pitch too which makes it sound like you're leisurely driving when you're pushing to max rpm. One more problem with the car audio is that the sound for turbo chargers is broken in the sense that instead of hearing the turbo spool while pushing the gas, you only hear the turbo spool at the beginning of the gear, then it remains silent the rest of the way. I don't know how this broke, but it leaves the turbo sound useless because you basically can't even hear it. I suggest a rollback or fix on the audio for the vehicles, as the original sound design for them was much more pleasing. Also one change made to the vegas in particular was that it had the pitch of its engine lowered drastically(The morai had this, but not as low). Some people like the lowered pitch, but others including myself like the old higher pitched vegas engine. I suggest adding a free exhaust kit in customization to switch between. Once they have their bigger projects completed like "Unification" they might actually consider fixing stuff like this. At least fixing the car audio and re-adding camera tilt when steering would be more likely.
