That includes story line, new maps, and in alot of cases new items and ships (if not all). And these events are to continue the story line, that's not including regular holiday events.

     

    Granted comparing these two games is like comparing apples and oranges, one is pvp the other is pve. But I do think the mechanics for creating new content and events do follow similar protocols (even with different engines).

     

    And yes they did take a risk making this event in such short time but if I can ham it up a bit I will quote from a famous Captain and say "Risk is our business" and sometimes that business can be good.

    Clearly there are things we need to continue tweaking, but we have just put another patch up to fix some of the more frustrating items:

     

    •    Barrel stacks can no longer be damaged by friendly fire.
    •    Reduced the damage taken in enemy controlled zones.
    •    Fixed the "Win Epidemic Matches" daily activity.

     

    We’ll figure out the balance (or lack there of) with Daily Activities and needing to log in most days to cap out the event.

    its a bit of a bummer that nobody can see anything positive in anything u guys do. I commend u for staying positive in the face of an unappreciative community that doesn't even realize if it wasn't for your company apb would no longer exist. I appreciate the effort and even though the event wasnt as expected it still fun and good to see you haven't lost your desire to improve the game despite the way u and your company are treated by the community..... hell looking at how anything u say or do is responded too I could see y g1 eventually just stopped developing or saying anything to the community

    I agree 3 months to make an event is pretty damn impressive. I think it takes 6 months for Cryptic Studios to make an event from planning, testing, to finally launch and even with that there are bugs from time to time. 

     

    I commend Matt Scott and his team for putting out this event and appreciate the efforts to fix any flaws (bugs) that may have occurred. I am enjoying this event and look forward to any future events or projects. 

    If I remember right it took g1 a year and a half for the asylum event(granted they made a new zone for it )

    well one way to make ultra customized things with out premium is u layout all the design in a single symbol in the symbol editor then over lay it as a large tile. I know a couple people that used to make rad custom cars doing this they would basically do the whole car design with 3 overly detailed symbols and blow them up 


  5. to be fair I was a bit disappointed with the event as well but they took a risk and listened to all the people crying and pushed "new Content"(I will never understand that argument in a game that is completely based around pvp) and all any1 can do is piss and moan about how they hate it.

     

    I like the fact they removed name plates unless in combat I like the fog(I also hate it for the same reasons I like it) removing out of bounds even tho highly requested by the community instantly abused. my personal issues with the event back capping is next to impossible, u die to the gas before u can even get near the barrel point then it takes 2 full resupplies to kill one. the barrels used to cap have more hp then a damn pioneer and the spawns are kind of a hot mess but honestly the event is more fun then the asylum event from years ago. 

     

    and im so sick of people crying about shotguns they were actually viable for the first time in 3 years except a single outlier over reaching and the entire gun class was gutted and forced back into only being usable to camp corners at 5m instead of actually being a viable weapon in combat

    a shader and an over lay are the same thing and shaders don't show bloom wither good shaders like what I used before they were banned had custom color codes multiple reticle styles multiple reticle sizes and could be set as always on, and frankly an overlay is the same thing as a shader, the only difference being shaders are in game files overlays are overlays

    I didn't use any black or red, but the shading is close, I admit that. I posted color codes in the original submission thread. I was gonna jump ingame and show you colors of the actual items, but servers are down atm. Here are the color codes again:

     

    DARK PURPLE (25, 4, 2)

    ACCENT PURPLE (24, 5, 5)

    ORANGE (1, 6, 7)

    MUTED YELLOW (3, 7, 13)

    ACCENT YELLOW (4, 7, 11)

     

    Also, here is the post where I asked Lixil for clarification whether shading to darker/brighter hues was allowed:

     

    I also have a suspicion the base color of the item is how u are getting away with using "purple" but it showing as black, meaning if the symbol starts as a color it will retain those color properties when a lighter color is applied to it to make a purple actually show as black even tho the color used to reshade the symbol from its designed color is clearly purple...… I feel like thats hard to understand so basically u make a design in the symbol editor color it black and no matter what color u put over it it will still be a shade of black

    but u can clearly see on the left arm a patch that is very clearly orange then the color overlaying the top of it is red and purple at 2 brightness is black

    Such in cs:go, where you can choose between static or dynamic.

    I don't play cs:go but I also agree shaders should be an option in game, since clearly any try hard will use a work around so any advantage they were trying to prevent still exists

    or a piece of tape with a marker dot, I don't like rubbing my screen to get ink off. again I know the work arounds im just waiting for the admin post stating flat out they are bannable so the next time I see the offenders ill link the post. we already have a small and dwindling player base the last thing we need is new players getting banned from something some idiot told them to do.....

    edit: is there a daily event to where you have to kill ops in their captured areas?

    I  know there's one for defending but no idea if there's one for killing ops in theirs.

    the kill 3 barrel carriers seems difficult for most to do without spamming rockets at a spawn point killing noobs....and id feel bad from that

    or someone like me that straight despises explosive weapons and refuses to ever use one no matter the circumstances I mean the whole event is a osmaw/volcano players wet dream with no out of bounds and poor long distance visibility aside from large objects(vehicles)

    come to forums to confirm what I already knew told not to trust people that clearly I didn't trust.... frankly I know they are bannable and just trying to create a sort of awareness because when I mentioned them being bannable in d to the offenders they shrugged it off and didn't believe me 


  13. its not pay to win and you have a valid point I can repair my car every minute instead of every 2 minutes there is a very very minor advantage for premium but guess what having extra field resupply (really who the fuck that isn't a noob actually use these) or torch on a minute cd instead of 2. isn't going to be the difference between getting smashed on or smashing out the enemy. hell it wouldn't even determine individual combat with that player since the majority of your perks are used ooc. pay 2 win would be doing 30% extra dmg to player because I have premium or in old wow private server terms having 71 talents while every1 else has 41.

    I think, they should make small changes like hvr nerf without accidentally making mistakes by implementing big patches at the same week it was implemented on otw.

    actually people like myself did ask for the shot gun buff when lo first purchased apb my self and others were very adamant about reverting the shot gun changes g1 last did because they ruined the gun and made many people like myself quit. and they are also trying to shake up the meta so all the "no content" comments go away because it wont feel so stale fighting an n-tech oca nvr every match
