I understand your frustration. Please know that we did a lot of analytics against the banned accounts to try and figure out a better way, but in the end it was impossible to make any 100% determination on whether someone actually cheated or not. We are not wiping progress, lowering rank, or taking away G1C / purchased items. This was the best I could do to equalize the economy and create a level playing field for returning players who may have abused the game.

I believe you made the right decision.

And you forgot the others i mentioned. You are quick to forget...

The other day ive been facing a guy that could sprint and very quick fire while sprinting with his duck, he was probably using that famous dot in the center.

The whole point is that you can aim while sprinting, it gives you the advantage to have placed your crosshair on the enemy when there should be nothing there. People that uses this has the advantage to aim first over the ones that do not have it... its an advantage it doesnt matter how much you try to say otherwise.

It is an advantage in the right hands. Just like any other tool. If you want something like crosshair dots to be illegal, how will you enforce it? What program will allow LO to enforce someone drawing a dot in the middle of their monitor with a marker?

Everyone wants a fair game, we can all agree fairness is great. But a crosshair dot is not a cheat or a hack, it is a tool. If we decided to have a competition to see who could screw in a bolt the quickest. If I bring out a drill, am I cheating or am I being smart. Maybe you should have forseen this and brought your own drill. And if you wanted to set rules, how would you enforce them? In this example it is simple because you can physically see my efforts. If you see me using a drill, you could disqualify me. But in an online game, things are not so simple. No one is stopping you from using a dot on your monitor except yourself.

The point is, you should realize that players who use crosshair overlays are not cheating, they are utilizing their tools. They are not injecting programs into the game or modifying the memory of the game in any way. It is functionally equivalent to drawing a dot on the monitor with a marker. And if you chose not to use one, you will have to live with the fact that most other players will not care about what you think about their drawn on crosshair dot.

  3. Do you read through this thread and seriously think LO have not considered their options? I am pretty sure they have given this more thought and consideration than any of us could. I think we need to sit back and let them handle their own business while we wait patiently for them to show progress on the game.

  4. The APB name has a bad reputation, but I think this can be use to the advantage of the game. Instead of trying to hide the game's past, I think people would respect seeing the new developers own up to this shaky past in an effort to show serious improvement to the game. We don't want another WarZ situation where they rebranded the exact same game in an effort to cash grab consumers. Get rid of the Reloaded tag. "All Points Bulletin" is about as fitting of a name as this game could ever have.

  5. Try to find footage or streams of players who are good at the game; Pay attention to how they play and try to learn from it. Otherwise, it is a matter of time and consistently learning from mistakes. Fight club can help you with aim and awareness, but playing missions will make you a much better player in the long run. A lot of APB is strategy, knowing what to expect, and planning accordingly. This could mean using the proper gun setup for a particular objective location, knowing when to get out of your car, where to position yourself to give yourself an advantage over the enemy, etc... Lots of this will become second nature with time, but only if you pay attention to your game and actively try to get better.

Honestly I am very worried...they should not have community players have GM/Mod roles...we all saw what happened with the forum's Mod Squad members.

It started off okay, but slowly devolved into blind power abuse. Half of the forum goers got banned who had no warning and never even broke TOS.

Let us hope they are able to make good decisions on who exactly to put into those positions of power.
