    Having randoms affect a mission they're not in while also punishing a player for doing well is beyond ridiculous game design. There are still a few instances of poor game design in APB, but this was one of the most annoying but easiest to fix and I'm glad LO listened.

    The fact that you can "speedhack" in APB using a program to delay packets says a lot. I have literally never seen this happen in other games.


  3. I think the main issue is progression, it needs a major rework. I'm talking about guns, vehicles, modifications and equipment being much easier to obtain for new players to, at least, level the playing field.

    Knowledge and skill, are impossible to fix from a gamedev point of view only, the one thing that can be done is introducing better matchmaking, but that will only actually make the game playable for everyone if we have a much bigger playerbase (several thousands of players online).

     

    Sadly, this discussion will never lead to a fix since the game is severely unpopulated. You either face people of your skill level and you barely get a match or you face people of lower/higher skill levels and you get matches constantly, those are the only options on the table right now and none of them are good for the game in terms of player retention.

    No, buddy, I'm just saying it's literally a stress test. There's no such thing as an open beta that only lasts a few hours. You won't find that many bugs that aren't related to stress testing that the SPCT didn't already report. Sure, it's still a valid testing method but my point still stands, hit me up once I can properly play the game for more than a few hours.

    Well, You had me until I heard you are going to be able to buy JT and when you buy JT you have a 1% chance to get a legendary fundamentally making them just a lootbox. Both of those things are an issue as you have made a NEW CASH SHOP CURRENCY and now also made anything exclusive to the JT store such as the Vegas Firebomb a from of P2W... 

     

    You have not removed the lootbox problem just tried to hide it while making it worse when anyone sits and thinks about it.

    The sad thing about all this is that if you just made it so you could not buy JT from the store you would HAVE fixed the problem.

     

     

    Maybe you should read the post instead of jumping on here immediately. You have a 5% chance for every 2500 JT (500 G1C) spent activating a 7 day trial on a legendary. It's not gambling, if you have the possibility to get it when the progress bar reaches 100% (at approximately 20 trials).

    FAR also doesn't have the same midrange TTK as the NTEC because its slower recovery. It's called a trade-off.

    The mid-range trade-off is nowhere near as good as you think it is. Overall, the FAR is superior to the N-TEC. It has a way lower skill ceiling and shreds in CQC which is where most action is played anyway. In the early mid-range you can still pull off some "hold LMB to kill" type kills based on favorable RNG that is not possible with the N-TEC.

    Anything you throw at this argument is just pure stat comparisons that you do not correlate with actual gameplay, and that's not how you discuss game balance in 2020. Feel > Stats, any day.

  9. @GhosT FAR is so much better in CQC than the N-TEC ever was, you can literally just hold LMB, consistently.

    1 shot of OBIR in CQC puts you at 500hp, so you switch to your secondary and finish the kill.

    You can literally just spray the Obeya in CQC without ADSing and get a kill in a last resort situation.

     

    Are you sure you're playing the same game as everyone else, or just coming on the forums without even touching the game for years and formulating an opinion?


  10. Anyone that thinks BE is remotely better than EAC really need to get their facts together. BE isn't even catching triggerbots or macros like Matt said. I'm even inclined to say that BE is on manual mode for the time being, but can't be sure without actually testing (which I'm not going to do for obvious reasons).

     

    Anyways, we are back to having semi-private cheats running rampant very shortly.

    And that's why it's going on OTW before LIVE. It will only get bad press if LO starts marketing.

     

    I don't think we need to wait another 2 months for these issues to be fixed before we're allowed to test the game. Plus a lot more issues will be found when you got more than 20 testers playing the game.

    I don't understand why the cqc abilities were touched on the NTEC while the midrange were left untouched. However it seems clear that the intent was to make the NTEC worse in CQC to open up the niche more for STAR/FAR while leaving NTEC better at midrange. Giving players a choice between "good at 0-40m" vs "5/10-60"m

     

     

    Yes, the FAR feels more like the STAR, except its TTK is exactly the same as the N-TEC, but I don't recall saying the opposite. However, that doesn't mean that the jumpshotting nerf shouldn't be applied to these guns too.

     

    Also, like RespectThis said, you don't choose an AR based on its CQC abilities, well, actually, now you do.

    Except no one is saying otherwise, most of us are just "trying to explain" that the FAR and other ARs are actually better than the N-TEC now, while having a much lower skill ceiling. It's literally all about holding LMB in close range, even while jumping, the very thing that was nerfed on the N-TEC was and still is much more reliable on the FAR and other guns.

     

    I hope this concept is not hard to understand, and if it is, I'm terribly sorry.
