Also yes @Goldtiger you should be dealt with for dethreating. If you enable them you're just as responsible for the loss of potential players so YOU can get the fuck over it.

In no way was I "enabling" them. All I was saying was that I am capable of understanding where they're coming from, and that I appreciate that this guy in particular is wanting change rather than being fine with how things are (which I make the claim that others should be too). And no, I shouldn't be "dealt with" for dethreating cause 1. I have never fucking dethreated EVER and 2. I dislike dethreating just as much as the next person. If you've ever played with or near me in action districts, you'll know I don't like dethreaters. But being an empath, I don't cut off any form understanding, cause that's unfair on all grounds. People like you in this community are just as guilty for the game dying as these dethreaters are, so get off your damn high horse.

  2. TBH, LO has done a lot of QoL things, mainly to try to clear G1 of the whole "MoneysFirst" title, haha. But other than that, a lot of the big features are kinda in the Soon™ state, as they've always been. I feel like the first year was more like a prep phase, and the 2nd year will be where things start to come together. LO has been very generous over the past year and I think we just need to give them a bit more time to solidify the engine upgrade so that we can get more balance and stability changes. So like, you're not wrong to criticize them...after all the game is still very unfun since people use the same weapons due to poor balance...but at the same time you can't just invalidate all the things they have done.

EDIT: wanted to respond to this bullshoot

They announced a new weapon balance pass

OK but it isn't here right now. We're talking about things that are in the live servers right now, not what is to come. (Cause in that case, lets include the fucking engine upgrade in there). And for another thing, the upcoming weapon balance pass could be as big of a failure as the shotgun balance that got released in the past.

Old Engine which is overloaded with badly optimized features

And the community has been waiting how long for a new engine? lmao. Sure, LO has only been working on it for a year, but G1 took multiple years and made so many bullshoot promises to the community.

Too big to be considered something they could do before 3.5

This is impossible to argue against; I agree. The only thing though is that 3.5 should've really been out a long time ago (but G1 pre-LO decided to develop console versions for some reason).

Hitboxes are fine the way they are.

Lol, no they aren't if you're telling me hitboxes like these are fine in 2019, you're crazy. For one thing, you can still hit above someone's head and nowhere near someone's arm and still hit them. The hitboxes do need changes, I don't think you can convince me otherwise.

  3. The one thing I don't understand about this community is how they think that all gold players deserve to be in gold. Like do you guys have any idea how easy it is to be gold?

If there was a diamond threat level, I would probably be a gold ranked player only because I don't play well enough to play against the no-life meta-running veteran players that make up the top-tier gold rank. Me wanting to play against low-tier golds is not me...

wanting easy wins against new players

and neither is it for someone who's a high-tier silver wanting to play against high-tier silvers. The threat system has way too small of a pool and the way the MMR (or whatever the term for it would be in this game) is affected after each game is terrible and needs change. Like threat would just be better if it was shown numerically and matched up players with the goal of getting nearly equal average values. Adding a new threat or two would further seggregate the community, yes, but I feel like it would only make sense to do that if matchmaking occured across districts..but we don't have that yet.

So if you don't understand where I'm standing in this topic, I think the idea of adding a diamond threat level is not a bad one, but it is not the time to do this. Rather, showing threat numerically and using gold/silver/bronze/green as a way to show generally where you are at in those values is a much better system. I'm sure the current threat works in a numerical way, but the way it is changed after each match should be more drastic and it should always be able to be seen by players in the tab/character info menu.

Also, to the dumbasses saying this guy should be temp banned for admitting to dethreating: get the fuck over yourselves. I don't like dethreaters but you have to realize that this guy is wanting change to the system and no changes have come to it in years. And quite frankly, getting stomped by the no-life meta-running veteran players (that probably make up a lot of these forums) in not fun at all for them either. IK it isn't fun for me, so I can only imagine how unfun it is for someone who's less skilled than me. But my point is, can't we show a bit of empathy, please? IK this community is full of big-headed people but that doesn't mean you can't try to imagine why people dethreat, and furthermore try to appreciate a dethreater wanting change. But that's just my thoughts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

popping max notoriety and immediately getting gunned down by a random that just happened to be 3 feet away (and probably the same faction as you) is not fun, especially if it costs you the stage/match

Getting gunned down in general is not fun. I think you mean that it's not fair for you. But the only fix i could suggest is a period of invulenrability to randoms until you can actually be shot.

I think that would effect wins and losses just as much, because the final stage is the ultimate decider of whether or not you win.  I think the bounty system is good as it currently is.  Not being stubborn here, I genuinely think altering it will only lead to more problems and frustration.

Agreed. The bounty system is annoying, but nerfing it down to not effect missions at all will most likely lead to more issues. And after all, I feel like having to worry about everyone in the district coming to kill you is an interesting way to spice up missions.

But with scout is Jump shots still able?

I highkey miss this feature, it made the scout like 10x as fun as it is right now. And i didn't really mind playing against it personally. But maybe I'm in the minority. (I just like fun features, ok?)

  7. While I enjoy using the nano, and honestly main that weapon, the RFP does every secondary's job better and is a good all around weapon. If you use the Fang version, though, expect rage whispers and shame brought your way, lol. Otherwise, .45 and FBW are clearly better than everything else, and there's no point in using the other weapons since they're too situational. The main reason I use the nano is because I enjoy the look and feel of the gun, and it serves as a very reliable finisher (unless you have the chrome or unsilenced connoisseur version).

  8. I find it hilarious that the oblivious members of our community can't tell that OP is trolling 😂😂 He literally said he JUST found out about PIG+Perc combo when he is cop 15, and his name is fucking "Dofus" 💀💀 like yikes why so serious??

  9. I partially agree; nerfing too often can be unhealthy for a game but at the same time, if something is too powerful it should be nerfed. For instance, since there's no reason to choose any other AR over the ntec, the ntec should recieve an adjustment to make it on par with the other ARs. Sometimes, changing popular weapons isn't the correct thing to do; perhaps it's better to change weapons that are weaker in comparison to make them more on par with the popular gun. It all just really depends on the situations, but with the ntec example I used, it's clear dominance in every factor, for instance, is the reason why that would be toned down. The FBW and so on were clearly toned down because the TTK was too low on the weapons, especially with how people were starting to familiarize themselves with the fire pattern and completely shred people with the guns.

I have a feeling EMP grenades will easily be the best grenade in the game, and this could be an easy way to buff low health vehicles, and nerf pio/espacio. Maybe Steel Plating could also increase the EMP timer.

You should also remember that using EMP Grenades means that you can't use any grenades for player damage purposes, which will be a huge detrement to using EMP grenades... And imagine getting a team of randoms who all use EMP Grenades... Huge disadvantage. I feel like they need to be powerful with how much you really lose by using them. But that's just my opinion. I don't think some vehicles will need specific adjustments because of this addition, but that's just me.

  11. All the changes sound great! I don't really understand the whole "limit inventory access thing" as changing weapons in this game is a pretty essential part of the game, but I think what really should be limited is the amount of ammo you can restock if you switch weapons. Likewise, you should only be able to restock 2 grenades per ammo box (whether it be mobile supply unit, field supplier, etc).

Also, you guys should really look at reworking grenades pretty soon. The meta has, for years, been centered around spamming nades around corners to greatly weaken the enemy, and in some cases just to get easy kills on enemies. Nade spam shouldn't be so rewarding imo.. Perhaps you could start with nerfing the number of grenades you can carry globally by -1 (ignoring 8 ball and brick obviously). Then from there, maybe adjusting damages slightly? IDK but they definitely should be looked into.

Otherwise, I'm really excited for the update. I'll definitely be coming back to the game when that releases. 🙂

I don't think rebalance patch takes more resources than developing RIOT. But it's not only about rebalance, there were many other good ideas on forums that could be implemented.

Very good point. But just imagine the number of good rebalances that could've taken place if all the resouces put into RIOT were put into that. I'm sure things would be going much better for the game right now if that was the case.

And yeah, there's a lot more that could be added than just simple rebalances; I've read a number of awesome ideas on the forums that I really hope LO will consider adding in!

They started adding permament weapons for JT and it's an insanely good idea that people asked for. Not that hard and doesn't take a lot of dev resources, isn't it?

This feature is definitely the feature I was most excited for since LO took over. Even though the options are very limited right now, I'm just happy they're even adding this in because this is a feature I and many others have wanted for years. It's not at all hard to implement, I'm sure. It just has to be given time to be considered, much like many other ideas that have been posted.

It's good that Matt is acknowledging this! I hope that LO will start to really focus on rebalances and minor additions alongside their work on the engine upgrade.

You got banned and rushed to let everyone know?

Speaking from experience, this is actually a normal and justified thing to do, especially when you believe/know the ban is false. Though it is against forum rules, usually this is the best way to get a response, especially since back then G1 would close off all communications from you and you'd never know the true reason why you were banned. And of course, nowadays, support takes literal months to respond, so yeah.

Anyways, just wanted to put that out there. On the topic of OP's temp ban:

If you want to use game mechanics to fuck with people ingame, then unfortunately, APB is not for you. IDK why the dump truck is in the game since it is literally a griefing tool, and why you can even get banned for griefing in it, but I don't make the rules. In reality, dumptruck griefing does ruin the game for a lot of people, and its a scummy thing to do. But if you really enjoy griefing by using game mechanics, you could easily drop a sum of cash into GTA Online. You'll probably have more fun griefing in that game than in this one, anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  14. I do agree to some extent; LO should've focused on adding more QoL changes/features to the game rather than adding RIOT to the game. Things would most definitely be much better right now if they went a different way about things. To my understanding, though, the engine upgrade has been in works since they took over, and they're no longer trying to work on RIOT, at least till the engine upgrade is complete? (can't remember where I read something like that but I'm too lazy to go look omegalol). Part of the reason why I don't play the game anymore is because the RFP is still as broken as ever, the radar tower does not work, and the ntec is still way too powerful and clearly better than any other AR (terrible balance). I can't help but be scared that the game won't even be alive long enough for the engine upgrade to release.. so yeah it is strange. 🤔
