I personally don't like riot for the sole purpose that it's not what APB was intended to be and as others mentioned it ignores the lore and just doesn't fit + I'm sick and tired of so many games implementing BR modes because it's popular. If I'll want to play BR I'll go and play a proper BR game like black ops / fortnite / pubg / apex or whatever, not APB riot mode. Another thing is that LO was wasting the time on it instead of focusing on the engine upgrade and other important things like for example the threat problem or cross district matchmaking. We have been literally waiting for over 5 years for the new engine and what we get is some bootleg BR mode. The initial LO's plan was to have the engine upgrade at the end of 2018. Then we were supposed to get it around february / march after it would be tested. Now we will get it god knows when, maybe even in 2020. Yikes.

yeah they generally hide the fact when they're releasing the engine upgrade.

first it was like 'yeah it will be SOOON' and now its like 'ONCE RIOT IS OUT WE WILL DO MARKETING AND SOOOON ENGINE UPGRADE WILL COME OUT'

its like they arent finished with the engine upgrade but think they can make it on time to release it in a decent time frame of this riot shit.

I will play riot for that stupid skin and then stop playing it pretty much.

I won't be surprised if Jericho becomes empty when this riot thing comes out though. Playerbase is already split

    Thanks for the info.

Gonna be a hard pass from me though.

i would be interested but i dont think i'd be a good gm.

i dont think i could stand people crying to me about dumb shit. I can imagine the certain people like shaishai spamming me 'THIS PERSON IS OBVIOUSLY CHEEATING' when theyre not.

now if you could like hide yourself from being a GM, sure y the fuck not. But bro. I don't want a stupid title tag thing that everyone knows I'm  a gm or some shit

TBH when I first heard about RIOT, thats what I thought it was. Some over-glorified extended event.

Then they said it was a new gamemode. I was like "ehhhh not sure how well that'll pan out".

Then the community responded with mass backlash and Im just waiting for it to release and have abysmal player counts and reviews.

I feel like the majority of the community will hop in just to get a skin, and then stop playing and treat it like every other seasonal event. most of the people who play APB don't play for some glorified battle royale, they normally play to kill and insult each other while flexing on who can use the NFAS better or who can outsmart the guy who hides in his car all the fucking time and spams volcanos on the objective sexual chocolate

  4. do u not realise that the districts are hosted on the server itself?

the server is hosted in country X and the district is hosted on that server.

ur dream of having NA/EU districts would require the servers to be placed in the atlantic ocean inbetween both the americas and shitty europe.

    gl with that

Pretty sure any legitimate anti-cheat would have a clause in their contract that would allow for termination delay in cases like this. One of the first things you learn in IT is that "bad stuff happens, no matter how careful you are". So since something went horribly wrong with this patch, it's likely that Little Orbit's contract with BattlEye has triggered such a clause and thus they're given a grace period where they can still use their anti-cheat service for some duration of time while they go about fixing the issue.

That being said, there's also the possibility that Little Orbit just simply paid for an extension, which gives them more time to work on the problem without having to stress out or worry about an imminent deadline.

Corporate America is cancerous, but it isn't always that bad as common public perception would have you believe. It's honestly more akin to a game, and if there's one thing gamers know it's how to beat games.

im pretty sure they just pay the company bi monthly or monthly anyhow

most subscription based services do that, so their 'contract' would basically run out whenever the month ends more than likely. so they probably purchased the service for this month

Hanging out in discord and trash talking there own players, the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen.

i dont bother in that discord because its mostly just a bunch of europeans crying about russians. and i wouldnt be surprised if staff shit talks the playerbase or specific players. this game literally breeds toxicity. I try not to be toxic, but look. I'm a fuzzy bunny and everyone can kiss my patootie over it.

its pretty obvious they dont give as much as a shit as they did in the beginning. their posts in the forums have gotten less and less.

its just g1 all over again

  7. like ye

they need to fix this whole matchmaking issue where grouped players are matched with premades.

fuck the 'alliance' shit, they just need to prevent premades from fighting solos. Fighting the same two or 3-4 people over and over just because you are a solo player and they want to do missions is boring as fuck.

yea blah blah 'but mah population' is a sure win excuse. But at the end of the day, what do you want? more people playing because they aren't fearful of having to fight premade enemy teams all the time? or less retention of players because the premades literally dominate.

Every time I'm solo, you hardly win against grouped opp. Every time I'm grouped, the only time I really lose is against another premade group. Otherwise its a literal massacre.

You can fuzzy bunny and complain about how this is a bad idea because you're afraid of fighting the same group of players over and over, but for fucks sake. This needs to be fixed. Players who play in a group should already be forced to accept the reality they're going to fight the same premade when they all ready up for missions within the same time. Fighting solo players so they can pretend they're good and then post 'mission win streaks' like they accomplished something does nothing but feed some nerd's ego. It doesn't do shit to address the issue this causes.

There needs to a fix in matchmaking to prevent the literal stomp matches because 4 guys get together to group, and 4 randoms are forced together and you have to watch your team take the premade's bait and run after them after they realized their current spot is shit and they're losing.

so here is shitty patootie suggestion

Set some sort of check within the group menu players can check that will prevent solo players from being forced into opposition of grouped players. Obviously if you want to be a bunch of shitbags, leave it unchecked at default, or you can be nice and have it checked at default. I don't care. But this shit needs fixed.

People wanna fuzzy bunny about how X is causing players to quit or Y, but honestly this is the main reason why I don't fucking bother playing half the time unless I got people ready to join me for a group. And I'm sure as shit, majority of the other people who don't play do so because they log in, and end up fighting a group of coordinated players grouped together.
