  1. Sooo... Basically just turn it into a bootleg GTAV?  No thanks.  Instead of adding 30 new cars, how about just adding a couple of kits for the Growl and Veo?  That Mitsubishi and Subaru look pretty much like the Coywolf and the Growl could easily be twisted into a Mclaren or some other super car.  I don't want APB to be looked at as a game that is blatantly ripping off GTAV.


  2. Favorite sounding are definitely the True Ogre, DMR-AV, Strife

     

    Dislike sounds of the PMG (used to be current snub sound, wish it stayed), any of the Juggernaut weapons, ATAC, Pretty much any silenced weapon.

     

    As far as looks go, I like the Strife the most, Just wish the default skin was a normal looking one.  Default Revelations weapon skins look awful except the Harbinger which isn't even skinnable

     

    Worst looking, Any weapon that starts with VAS-

I love the look of 2011 APB, the current blue color grading looks like shit.  Also really miss the light pollution at night.  G1 killed the light pollution when they turned the night time fog to black instead of orange and now the game just looks dead as hell.  Because you know, cities at night don't emit light, they absorb it.  The game used to have a mood, now it's just "blegh".  Luckily Matt said that when they redo the lighting in the engine upgrade they're going to be leaning more towards the old look of the game.

    The reason it is the way it is now is probably because notes outside the allowed range may sound like shit pitched outside of their intended range, Still don't think it should be off limits though.

    Jokes aside, yes please.  The tax is pointless with the ability to trade and with the added cost of refurbishing items it can be extremely hard to sell something and make a profit at a price someone would actually pay.  20% is kinda ridiculous.  I'd even be cool with 10%

    Don't mean to derail this thread here but Car Surfer shouldn't even be a mod. Staying on the roof of a car should be skill based like it originally was.  Originally you had to constantly walk in the direction the car was moving to not slide off, but G1 said nah and made it so you slid off no matter what and introduced a mod to make you just stick to the roof to force you to have to progress further to get this extremely useful ability.  What was nice about the old way was that it balanced the weapon accuracy of those riding it because they were technically "jogging" to stay on the roof which caused their crosshair to bloom, whereas now they're just standing still.


  7. This is more of a suggestion for the APB Redbubble store, but I didn't feel like it fit in game suggestions.  I'd really like for you guys to expand your T-shirt selection with some more simple designs like just a black T-shirt with the APB Reloaded logo on it like this:

    Also bringing back the E3 shirt designs would be great.  I have the criminal one and I know someone else on this forum has the blue Enforcer one but I can't remember who.  There were also organization themed ones.  The Bloodrose themed one is the ribcage one right above this. There was also a green GKings version.  I outgrew this shirt 😞  Would love to order a bigger size.

  8. Couldn't agree more.  They just need to revert it to how it was before Qwentle's stupid recoil curve system and it'll be fine.  It'll still be outclassed by the OCA and PMG but it'll be leagues better than it is now.

    -Then following with characters, in the selection of emotes (for female at least) the chuckle emote is the only one i have found so far that has a facial emote along side it.

    So seeing some facial expressions during gameplay would be very cool. (I don't think characters even blink outside customization)

    -First person view in cars would be neat, I'd like to see that, though it may require redesigning the interiors of the cars.  They're pretty low poly and are really low res in terms of textures. 

     

    -Jiggle physics aren't something that would be run server-side to begin with.  He means that it would be very heavy on your PC's performance.  Sure it'd be fine for a few characters around, but 100? There would be a draw distance for the physics but what about social where everyone clumps together?  I've ripped the contact models and they do have hair and breast bones that can support this, (You can kind of even see this when you die, if you are using DoubleB's haircut, the bottom of your hair will ragdoll when you die. but like Matt said, with Unreal 3's implementation of that it would probably cause a lot of performance drops.  Maybe they could utilize nVidia PhysX for something like this (if that's not what he was talking about to begin with).  An option to toggle it for those that can handle it would be nice though.  Make it Off by default so players aren't just wondering why they're suddenly lagging.

     

    -Facial animations would be cool, It would even be nice if they would apply the customization studio facial animations to the character's idle animation to make them feel a little more alive.  APB characters just look so cold and dead inside with their constant blank stare.  Might want to dial back the max angles on the eye movement on that though.  Might look creepy if their eyes are moving all over but their head is still.  Also add facial animation to the male /animal emote.  You look like you just stubbed your toe, not like you're howling.

    Thanks, that might be a job for when I go to bed tonight lol.  It took about 2-3 hours to upscale it to 1440p with my 1070.  Used to have a TitanX that would come in handy for this, but it shit the bed a few months ago.

Cool, triggerbots seem to be one of the few remaining cheats that still seem to be present.  Hard to notice unless they slip up and shoot you while they're AFK.  Can't even remember the last time I've seen a speed hacker.  Looking forward to seeing how things have changed with BE since last time we used it.

    The intro didn't fare nearly as well as the loading screen did, which was to be expected.  A lot more movement, faces, blurry filters, static, motion blur etc.  It caused a lot of this:

    A lot of it was recorded to look like it was phone footage from back when it came out so there's a lot of blatant pixelation which caused a lot of artifacts.  Some ghosting on moving text too.

  13. Upscaled the loading screen from its native 720p up to 1440p.  Just wanted to see how well it would work because of something Matt said in the Reddit AMA today.

    I think it turned out pretty good except for a few little artifacts. I converted LoadingMovieV1.bik to MP4 and used the upscaling application.  To be usable it'll have to be converted back into a .bik.  AI upscaling may be the way to go for those old background movies if the source projects don't exist anymore.   @MattScott

     

     

    I would have tried the main menu background movies but I couldn't find them in an older client's files.  Gonna try the intro next which is also 720p and see how it handles all those TV static transitions and blur.  Will post back here when that's done.
