APB Splash screens, posters'n stuff

@Word2 uhh hello there! -
And separately i wanna talk about cc. "Explanations and excuses" I get complains like this here, on youtube, and even personally. That's kinda weird as I've always been adjusting colors extremely, and no one was ever complaining. But I know this time it has some problems. There are two reasons: Firstly - i do all color correction on my gaming benq monitor, not some proffestional IPS. Obviosly, for others video may look not like i intended. But it's always been like that, i use the same monitor for 6 years now. Secondly, and more inportantly - i installed all the software from scratch, all my presets are gone and i complete forgot how to cc apb footages (again, my last video came out in 2017 !!), i was even whining to my friends with these quotes. It was painful. I know sometimes its too blurred, sometimes it's too dark, sometimes its overbrighted. But this video aint even first try, it was my 4th time rendring it, and i got as close to the result i wanted as i could. it was necessary to try i few more times, but after 5 days of working on it i was so exausted that i gave up. Each time rendering, by the way, took 2 hours. 8 hours only on rendering in common. This one is actually interesting, i never though that each apb area has its color, i was thinking it depends only on global in-game time and weather. I understand your point. But apb is not best looking game, shaders and fog are awful. Actually work i've done is a little depper than just "cold filter added on" Each footage was adjusted separately, but generally video separates on a few segnments: 1. The beggining and pikachu meme. I was trying to get the same image as here, and obviosly didn't even get close. Again, that's because all my presets are gone, and i'm using advanced cc tools, so this is not easy to copy old effects at all. And i was so exausted that i decided not to continue trying. 2. 3:30-4:49 segment. C'mon, it's explosives/bugs montage on freakin smokepurpp track. It was intented to be acidly looking. Original idea was to paint it red, but obviosly red fitler is painful to watch, so i went with acid blue and oversaturated synch. I'm not completely satisfied with this one, but it gets the job done, 3. 5:13-9:00 segment. This one is done in my old style, and I love it. That pink/blue scheme does not look like apb, bit imho it looks good. Its vibing, would not change anything here. 4. "Senpai" segment. It's pinky and that, again, how i wanted it to look. Interface is blurriend and it overbrighted in some moments i know that, that's the problem. But the color scheme is not. Above I gave a link on my old FC footage, where both game and UI look good. Check it out. That's the level I got on after 3 years of apb videos, and that's the level I'm trying to get back on. As you can see, there was no "warmer/colder", it was about the colors itself. But being completely honest, i hate warm colors, dunno why.

This video is almost 15 minutes long, it contains both me trying new things/having fun and old style of montage. For example, segment from 5:13 to to 9:00 was built entirely on my old formulas. It's still me, aint betraying my routes, I'm just not as into APB as i was before, so making the same montage all over again would be boring. I did quit tho, but now I'm most likely coming back as well as my oldstyled videos That's sad to hear that you didnt enjoy it, but i wanna ask you to watch the entire video from side to side, there is more in it than it seems at first. Everyone was using this thing back in the times, but not me. Since this video is completely experimental (which is obvious), I decided to throw this effect on. For me, as man who havent played for a long time, stock apb footage look boring. But oki, i will not be using that anymore. Can i get more details? I tried to play i few missions today, and from what i see shotguns are dead, n-tek acts weird too. I'm not a 420 ambassador (even tho i may look like one), but Halloween themed symbols are cool, they will save me a lot of time and customisation limit

I wonder if anyone still remembers me, like... It's been 3 years of silence, more than enough for anything to change. Anyway, in the past i've been making apb montages, and lately quarantine kicked me mentally so hard that i spent 5 full days on an apb video (kind of) I have enough old footage on my harddrive to keep on going, but I'm actually thinking about coming back to APB. So the question is, what's the news? i'm lazyass and trying to funfill everything I missed in these 2 years is nearly impossible. Any changes? Buffs/nerfs? What about engine? I saw streams with upgraded engine, but aint feeling like it gave me any useful info. And the biggest question is, does comeback worth it?

How to reach maximum framerate in our loved game
Nerima replied to Nerima's topic in General Discussion Archive
@SKay whoa, that's actually quite a lot of useful knowledge! Thank you for taking your time, took me a while to digest all the information. But I have one last (i hope so at least) question If at the end we got into "help me to choose hardware" anyway, then i want to clarify something: 1)You're perceptive, i'm actually a graphics and clothes designer, so my pc is not a toy, but tool. 2)I'm a hardware geek, "building future-proof PC with opportunity for easy upgrade" is not about me. I do enjoy rebuilding my whole pc at least once a year. At least it was so. 3)I'm not on tight budget, but as any other man, i don't want to pay more than i have to. As a mentioned in my first post, i have a chance to hook new 7700k + strix z270e for 300$ and overclock the hell out of it. This is cheaper than 3800x alone, and even cheaper than 3700x. But the old excitement of hunting for framerates makes me doubt. And this was the reason of creating this topic. To know what specs are ultimate in the current apb state. And this is the question you did not answer. What's your PC specs? And what results it shows in a current apb version? If Cookie was right and you got as far as it gets. -

Any updates? I was supposed to buy myself new CPU today, but decided to wait for SKay's advice before. -

How to reach maximum framerate in our loved game

I wouldn't "waste", but yet I dont see any advantages of team red. lets be honest, before ryzen amd cpus were pretty outdated and had nothing to oppose to intel. And if something has changed with ryzen (directly in apb), I will be happy If anyone would share it. Merged. We're suffering from it for 7 years now, cmon dude, g1 wasn't different. God knows how possibly both graphics and performance would get worse at the same time, but it happens again and again. Yet, this does not devalue information I'm looking for in this topic. -
How to reach maximum framerate in our loved game

Why shall I on i7 and top-of-the-line gpu make manipulations with resolution? This is not the case here. Especially with the fact that I'm making videos and my goal is to make the game look as good as possible. I do use advanced launcher to adjust explosions and particles, to reduces framerate drops. But now I want to discuss hardware side of performance. Talking about overclocking, when i had 4790k going from 4.0 to 4.8 increased fps by like 15% -
How to reach maximum framerate in our loved game

Hello! I would like to disqus quite interested topic that i haven't yet seen raised on the forums And first of all I want to metion that this is not "help me to choose hardware", this is more of a research "which configurations are best for apb, and which not so much", and which not-so-obvious things, tips and tricks have an impact on performance. We all know that APB has pretty poor optimization, but there always been the ways to achieve the cherished 120fps (or even more) I personally went in this direction quite a long way which began in 2012 in parallel with the beginning of my passion for PC hardware Two things I learned for sure - APB need a SSD and single-core performance Because of the second, I never even looked in the direction of AMD cpus (ryzen was not even a thing at that time) Then in 2017 I sold my PC and moved to Mac due to the work and forgot about APB and hardware market for 2 years And now when I decided to return I realized that the market has changed a lot I've already purchased all the hardware for my new build except the CPU and motherboard. Now i'm choosing between 6700k 7700k and 8700k, of course, many will say "just buy 8700k", but I'm afraid that quad-core processors can show a better result in the APB than the six-core + I have a chance to hook 7700k for $200, of course cpu will be watercooled and overclocked, goal is 5.0ghz, but im not sure if its possible (especially on 8700k). I'm also considering 2th and 3th gen ryzen, but, of course, it is not possble to find any test with ryzen in apb. So, the question and main purpose of this topic is to know everyone's opinion and own experience about how to get maximum out of APB (of course without resorting to cfgs with destroyed graphics) On what builds did you manage to squeeze more than 100fps? What builds perform well in other games but don't reach 100fps in APB? Is Ryzen relevant for apb? My last build in 2017 had 16gb ram, i7 4790k watercooled and overclocked to 4,7ghz and gtx980, apb was installed on samsung 850 evo ssd, and guess what? Even then i wasn't able to enjoy my stable 120fps, more like 90fps average with drops below 60s and sometimes maxing out on 120 And something interesting for all folks living in a bunker and having no idea why I care about overclocking so much. Pretty old but still relevant video from Lilu, showing how cpu frequency affects actual in-game performance:
