Tunner 9 Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM (edited) Its good to see the game is still around and is also getting new content along the way, but even the newest addition to matchmaking (that works rather well) cannot compensate for extremely low playerbase. As much as I like the game, its mostly just unplayable for me and many others as the only players that are still around already have like 10+ years of playing this game under their belt, making all matches very boring, predictable, and unwinnable. Can we perhaps get some PVE content, so that we can grind the game without the need to go to PVP? Ramraids are already pretty fun and worthwhile, but it only works for criminals cause enforces need the criminals to start ramraiding first to start their own version. In other words, you can only PVE grind when you are a criminal. And it only really works with money, as contact standing is very slow to grind this way. Besides, we could use some PVE missions with bots anyway (or even without, for example detective cases or spray painting), so that both crims and enfs can grind when there are no people playing or the matchmaking is out of whack. It will surely help the game survive better and keep some of the playerbase playing, as opposed to quitting after taking enough boredom and abuse and just waiting for this game to be good and populated again. Spoler alert, it will never get populated unless people have a reason to stay in the first place, thats why we need a PVE safety net, so anyone at any point of any skill can start the game up and have fun in this game world without reserve. koenyboy500 81 Posted 20 hours ago I love exploring the idea of opening the world of APB:R up to something BEYOND just walking to objectives and going "Keep the change" on other players. PVE could give the game a lot of depth, personality, lore and could open up entire systems. Imagine not only getting slight advantages in combat (for example a succesful Enforcer Spray Over Enemy Tags time mission awards you with a consumable of your choice), but also gaining upgrades (equipment?) to boost yourself into getting more PvE missions done. You could have roles for it with interesting unlucks. You could gain XP in a videogame where currently: The grind to R290 is L-O-N-G and only available in PvP. Maybe we could bring items like ammoboxes from contact to contact, with a chance of other players interfering (kinda like GTA V business style). Investigations with clues and randomised missionspots. (The entertainment value will eventually decrease as people will memorise but alright). Spraying over tags like you said, along with the investigations. Maybe in those investigations/theft you can have elements of ShadowsOfDoubt in there. Where you have to gather clues by tapping into satalitedisks or see a list of phonecalls made previously. Connecting the dots. Enforcers could maybe try to locaste a specific only-for-them-visible NPC where they get a photo and a clue of the right direction. Or be assiged to a ShadowStrike team to do something like breaking into a facility and spawning into a smol, smol, SMOL area the size of a house in a seperate 'disctrict' and engage on NPC's or make choices. Maybe pick up an ambulance and rescue NPC's? Criminals could 'intimidate' stores by creating destruction in surrounding areas. Or set up 'ambushes'. Possibly a bigger misison where they gather an item, uncover an email or phonenumber and distort/blackmail important political figures. There's a lot of potential. All very hopeful ideas for now of course. But it's a very fun idea to think about.

There is no reason not to go this route. Every game that wants to stay relevant no matter what does this, even GTA Online does this, and thats a super popular game that doesnt have problems with its player numbers to begin with. Funnily enough, they have recently toned down the toxicity of the game (griefing) and no longer require public sessions to do business things on your own or with your crew. Some inspiration to be had here too. This game can only profit from this. And I would love to see more lore and perhaps the factions and stuff.
Tunner 9 Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Here are some of my thoughts what PVE activities could be like: Enforcers: Money transport (security van), terrorism prevention (bug-planting), arresting suspicious individuals (same thing as mugging for crims now, except they get arrested instead of mugged) Criminals: Drug transport, car customization and export, working for a collector (ramraiding targets from a list and delivering a full list of items desired by the client) These are really easy to do and code, so they wont require much manpower or time to implement.
