Game freezes on district load, process cannot be killed

Hello,

I am having a severe issue with APB Reloaded and require assistance. The game freezes on the district loading screen, and I am unable to terminate the process without restarting my PC.

I have already attempted all common troubleshooting steps:

I have performed a complete manual reinstallation of the GFAC system, including deleting all folders and registry entries.

Crucially, the APB.exe process cannot be terminated, even by using a taskkill /F /IM APB.exe command as an administrator. The command returns an "Access denied" error.

The game files have been repaired via the launcher.

The graphics card drivers have been cleanly reinstalled.

All background applications and overlays were disabled.

Since all these steps have failed, I suspect there is a deeper conflict with the GFAC driver itself that is causing this issue. I hope you can provide a solution.
