  1. This game had so much potential.

LO please sell the PC version of the game to someone or release the code for people to make their own servers

You clearly don't care as evidenced by your actions.

Disappearing once...fine.....disappearing over and over is simply bad management

    Calm down cowboy 😂

I kind of agree with him, but I would have worded it slightly differently.

Rather than come back every few months and apologize, which frankly has gotten old, Matt should have someone communicate with us on a regular basis.

A lot of people have spent a great deal of money on this game and have been promised big plans multiple times, so they buy things to help support the game they love. It simply isn't right to not communicate like that

It is hard to hear honest feedback sometimes, but many of the people giving the feedback have been around since day 1 and actually care

    Merged.

    No release dates for anything?

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

    I agree

We need a roadmap and weekly (not monthly) updates

We should also not wait for the update to release the new content

Lets get the new contact added please

  3. I held out hope for many years and supported the game by spending several thousand dollars

I believe this game has no equal and want(ed) it to keep going

Early on I was happy with the way Little Orbit seemed to be working to add new content and finish the game, but now I realize they were over their head

Correct me if I am wrong but Matt Scott hasn't communicated in around 6 mos

Sadly, I think its too late

  4. There was so much promise when LO took over. But you cant have your CEO run the company and be the developer

Should have improved bad weapons instead of nerfing existing weapons. This would have pissed less people off and more people would want to play different stuff

Removal of Joker boxes removed the excitement of trying to acquire a cool unique item. They could have taken it out of the RL cash store and placed it in the game as something to buy with in game gold

Too many players at max level with nothing to do. They needed to up the level max and add in those new contacts. They should have done that while attempting the failed EU,

This game still has a ton of potential, but the lack of communication, followed by some reason why there was none has gotten old. Sorry truth hurts

Spent thousands in Arma's on this game. I loved it and wanted it to succeed,  wanted to support it. At some point you realize that the people running the game don't care about it anymore

I agree, make it open source and lets let some people resurrect this game

    Agreed

Also, can we start getting some dates and start seeing some movement?

I need you to hurry up and get back to nerfing every single weapon I bought /or use

For the past 11 years, the first 5 spent playing the game. I have been lurking on the APB forums, reading updates from Matt, following blog posts, all in the vain hope of finally seeing that the engine update is released.

Three years after Little Orbit has taken over this still hasn't happened.

I do not understand why these game devs think they could reverse engineer APB's code into NOT EVEN the newest engine of Unreal. It is painfully apparent that Real Time Worlds coded the game in a way that would only work with the Unreal Engine it was built in. Every week I read Matt's engine tracker updates and all I see is problem after problem in regards to making this game work. It's too old, it was never built properly to begin with, and I think Little Orbit is wasting time trying to make this game work.

The amount of time invested into upgrading the engine should have been spent rebuilding APB from scratch with the Unreal 4 codebase or a different engine altogether.

The code was not built correctly, plain and simple. If it were built correctly, then APB would be in the same boat as Grand Theft Auto Online which is using the RAGE engine version built during GTA IV. Their engine is not perfect and it certainly has a lot of limitations, but the code to upgrade it and continue to develop it is on a solid foundation. That same GTA IV engine was used to develop Red Dead Redemption 2. Funnily enough, I believe horses were listed under vehicles and there was still some code for airplanes that weren't used in RDR2.

My concern now is that I fear Little Orbit will now run into the investors fallacy. Where they've spent so much money on trying to make something work they will continue throwing money into it even though it's never going to pan out. This is how I feel about APB.

Instead of trying to glue together a broken egg shell, Little Orbit should consider transferring their resources into developing APB 2 and just put APB 1 on maintenance mode.

Reasons why Little Orbit should focus on developing APB 2 instead:

1.) Good will with APB is already tarnished. The terrible launch on consoles already left a bitter taste in most gamers mouths who didn't know anything about APB.

2.) The engine update isn't even going to dramatically increase graphic fidelity. The screenshots that were released with the "engine update" is the equivalent of an HD remaster of a game. And with the way development has been going, stability won't be improved due to spaghetti code.

3.) Veteran players have been playing the same maps for 11 years. There's no freaking way new players will stand a chance against the vets. When I was matched against a new player, I was dominating the poor kid without even trying. So rather than let him get discouraged, I change my guns (nerfed myself) and played less competitively. I heard him get excited over voice chat when he was finally able to beat me. I shouldn't have to play worse so that new players don't leave.

4.) With all the experience Little Orbit has gained in the development of APB, all that experience can be transferred over into developing an engine that is stable, clean, modable, and offer better performance than the current one. Leave the original APB in maintenance mode, continue to run your events, and build a competent codebase that can be upgraded in the same way as Rockstar's RAGE engine.

    100% agree

  8. Plenty of games have better car customization....but then when your done customizing it you get to.......race.....on a set track,,,,,blah

I know GTA V has some stuff, but driving in that game sucks butt

I also know that some games have insane customization, Sims, or even City of Heroes was pretty good back in the day....but with APB you can take decals and make anything you can dream up

    Time.

It's a miracle that this game is still alive after all this time. Even if everything that people complain about or say is bad about the game was fixed it would still be time for it to die.  Games die as they get older. Comparing APB to other games of the same time/starting population/genre you can see that it's certainly outlived what it was meant to.

agree that time does kill games, especially as more newer games come out, however, the one thing that keeps APB going is simply that there is no other game like it, especially with regard to customization

  10. I chose other

As max rank, there are no new contacts to work on, or levels to achieve

The next thing would be content. I need a cool story with things to unlock or achieve

Maps never change, rather than make a half baked event, I would just like to see random changes to the map to keep it fresh

Perhaps with each update we move or add a ladder somewhere without saying anything. Maybe add a air conditioner to the side of the building to allow access to a new roof top. Maybe remove a door or fence somewhere. This would change the usual way in which a mission would be ran.  I don't think it would be difficult to do either

Make finishing roles a bit easier. I don't want it to be easy peasy, but I have been playing for over 6 years (casual, no fight club) and have only completed two weapons roles. Maybe consider lowering the total count by one level, this may generate some excitement in trying to finish more roles because they are slightly more attainable

Need to do something to build an economy. Maybe allow us to trade joker tickets, or accept them in auction, make more items auction able (think WOW auction house)

Social District deployables, you can start with existing items, like boom box and that sign that some people got with refer a friend. add more unique ones that would be cool to bring out while in social. Like pets, but static

Shooting range in social, where you can try out any weapon, or a rotating selection of weapons,

    Ok will stop now.

can I refund the 7 joker boxes I bought yesterday?

Only if I can get a refund on the over $200.00 I spent to get the Thunder just to have it get nerfed a few months later. It was my main secondary and now it sits unused with half a dozen other nerfed guns

Now all legendaries will be devalued due to too many of them being available, further making the money I have spent on them more worthless

    man I’m negative
