  1. Whilst this is a good option considering the population, the ping for a decent amount of NA players is simply too high to play EU.

Yeah, NA is mostly Americans who complain about having to play EU at 120-250 ping, but for us Oceania players we've been doing that since the Joker/Colby merge as well as the Han shutdown.

Then again given the numbers, there might not be a choice.

Once upon a time, bloom/spread were client-side though. The cheats back then are where the SHAWcopter meme originated, because it was the go-to being the lowest TTK weapon in the game (and was a literal laser beam due to zero bullet spread). Those were wild times, for the relatively short time that lasted before G1/RG fixed it.

I think we should fix the game by allowing mrepicgoat to balance all the weapons from here on out

Jokes aside, people who are dethreat with ease aren't really top players to begin with. The process takes too long if your elo is at least moderately high, and most people who play at a higher skill don't want to play people who they can easily beat. Of course, there's plenty that do enjoy this, but that's an issue that exists outside of threat because there will always be toxic people who want to play purely to irritate and beat others at every level of play.

Online gaming is frustrating regardless of your composure, but it's a good idea to start considering whether getting so heated up about things that are outside of your control is actually worth your energy, even if this isn't always an easy task.

Do that and that only (bronze) district populated would die in a matter of days, basically becuase bronze/silvers would get owned every mission and they will ragequit and golds would stop playing eventually becuase the op is too ez,u just have to go to the silver district of Citadel and see how "healthy" is the relationship between threats.

I would argue that quitting because of hard opp is a universal experience. Some days you just hit four premade groups in a row and you just have to say 'not today' and come back another time. But yes, you're still right, and whilst I think the matchmaking system as a whole is busted that leads to the issues you described (not an uncommon opinion I know), there's no merit to killing off a significant portion of the already small playerbase that's left.

I guess if there's one district everyone can access, at least we are all able to play the game: in situations where there's a district that's inaccessible to most, not only do they choose not to play in another district (because none are active) but they actually cannot play at all. It's a lesser of two evils type of thing, not a fix.

  4. So the population of NA is pretty dead, nothing new here.

Yet for some reason, there's still threat segregation stopping a significant portion of remaining players from playing.

At an estimate I'd say 30-40% of players are gold (this could be wildly off I know), yet only bronze districts are being populated lately meaning the usual cycle is:

    - Log in to see if you can play

    - See only a bronze district populated

    - Log off and do something else, go to EU (if your ping allows it), or spend hours dethreating to actually play

I can't quite see the purpose in having threat segregation when the player count is not even high enough to populate a single district.

Wouldn't it make more sense to allow everyone to play at all times?

Also hello forums, it's been a few years; I'm guessing a civil discussion is still a rarity but prove me wrong here alright?

Yep, no advantage at all to have a crosshair while running.
You are so right my little average gold scrub.
To me using a crosshair is like putting training wheels on your bike when you're a kid.
It's fine initially and it'll help you out when you're new to things but eventually you take it off.

In my opinion any player worth their salt aims just-as-well if not better without needing a crosshair overlay.

I don't see how anything would have played out much differently if that video example were to take place before the shotgun buffs. Everyone got mowed down because they ran face first into the shotgun at point blank range like an idiot lol.
Agreed, this clip is fine. All it shows is someone who knows how to aim kicking the butts of people who don't.

  7. Shotguns have always been a weapon that have rewarded mastery and skill with relatively consistent two-shotting within their effective range.
With this patch it doesn't matter whether you are actually good at 'centre-ing' your shots as the overdamage is so obscene you can 2-shot most of the time even if your shot is totally off.
Alongside this you can now 2-shot up to ~10m-15m which is quite dumb, you can also pick up kills and decent assists anywhere up to ~30m which is incredibly stupid.

tl;dr - shotguns were fine before the patch, now their range and damage is bust

  8. So what's everyone's thoughts on the new sidearm?

I'm personally having a blast with it, slightly disappointed it isn't an unrealistically weak sawed-off BUT I'll take what I can get.
It's a great counter-part to any long range gun I'm running with and whilst it still isn't as reliable as an FBW/.45 it's really fun.

I will say I feel as though it needs SLIGHTLY more over-damage so that it hits a 3-shot kill more reliably, but other than that it's fine.

  9. I honestly find all of these changes fine.

The IR3 change is also fine because you should be controlling your fire at longer ranges anyway.
It makes sense that the weapons are less viable in CQC - the whole idea of improving your rifling means you should be better at longer ranges and worse at shorter ones.
Makes perfect sense to me and I can't say I even notice the difference on most of the guns.

Easiest solution of all: The longer you drive with the item, the slower you go. So, after 30s of non-stop driving with an item, you car comes to a halt. You might be able to exploit that by 'hot potatoing' the item between cars, but maybe throw a cooldown (of 5-10 sec) on being able to pull the item out of the trunk / touch it (if you currently 'control' it).

I actually like this idea a lot.

I've always thought 'just give task items the VIP vehicle speed' but then I realised just how often a task item spawns in a real crap spot.
This would make driving around the map in a pioneer much less appealing and would still allow for item relocation.

Medusa, it's reliable in every situation you can throw at it and will manage to beat hvr on Waterfront and Ntec anywhere
It's beyond amazing and it should be much more expensive than 1-1.5m on Market, it's basically an Ntec with bigger clips and better car stopping power

I use my Euryale a LOT.

It's basically made the shaw completely redundant. You never see too many people using LMGs but I would argue it's the best one.
    - pinpoint accuracy.
    - tap-fire'able
    - full-auto'able
    - actually mobile
The only thing that hurts it is that it suffers from more RNG than most guns. Sometimes your recoil will just screw you over. Nothing you can do.

    Other non-meta guns I enjoy a lot:
    - ACES Rifle; nice for when I don't want to think too much
    - ISSR-A; people REALLY don't know how to play against this gun
    - NSSW; basically an LMG ntec, honestly its easier to full-auto as well
