    Sounds like you just wanna play GTA?

    GTA sucks. It does everything that APB does poorly. Of the many things that it does that APB doesn't, yes I'd like to see several in a game with the lore and customizability of APB. But you are wrong in your conclusion that I want to play GTA. GTA's pvp is fundamentally flawed. Now I suppose they could turn that into the APB system and add in APB levels of customizability. That might change things. It would still miss the APB lore though. Bit of a toss up if it would be good enough without it. How about I worry about it after GTA gets APB style combat and customization. That seems safe enough.

  2. Just my 2 cents.

    1. NTEC seems a little too good. Though I don't like ttk extensions, short ttk is one of the main apb attractions for me, so maybe just (even) less accuracy. At least make sure it isn't better than everything else.

    2. I hate bunny hopping. Make people put away their guns to jump high or something. It's such a stupid, immersion breaking mechanic.

    3. I'd like to see the lore of APB worked out further in some PvE stuff. Hell I'd like to see alot of GTA like mechanics added with the customizability of APB to make it more of a criminal world where the pvp is a central pillar of the game, just not the only pillar.

    4. Let us buy (lots more) inventory slots for everything. APB's customizability, another fundamental characteristic, should not be limited by something as banal as slots.

    5. More destructability.

    6. Building interiors, subways. Perhaps merge the district maps so that player pool is bigger and matchmaking is easier.

    7. Faster vehicles, make vehicles better in general but make it possible to shoot ppl in vehicles.

    8. New vehicle types: motorcycles, helicopters (though not massively weaponized ones like in GTA), boats

    9. Traversal: swimming, base jumping, absailing off buildings, climb almost anything, though slowly,

    10. Animations: more (configurable) idle animations. Possibly make it possble to choose between different types of weapon reload anims

    I guess I could go on for ages. I've always felt that APB had oodles of untapped potential. I've been playing alot more since the 64-bit update and even now I still find the game impressive, the customizations system most of all. Sure, it could use some updates. to textures and 3D, maybe use some more polygons here and there. But, in basis the game, particularly the customization system still impresses me and I struggle to think of another game that allows such massive freedom through a relatively simple interface.

    Anyhoo, I hope apb has a bright future post 64 bit update.

  3. Well I continued counting, new cumulatives, based on 126 login attempts:

    62,70% login success rate

    49,37% from login screen to district select screen succes rate

    54,00% district select to actually spawning in a district success rate

    16,71% chance of succesful login procedure in one go

    So that's improved fairly significantly from the last post.

    Also, some observations. Failure to get from the login screen to the initial district select screen is almost invariably followed by a failure to login. The second login attempt (almost) always works.

    What going from district select to spawning in a district fails, it requires restarting the whole game as this is so far always indicated by an infinite loading screen.

    I have experienced the opposite. Windowed Fullscreen worsens over time. Switching to Fullscreen fixes it. At some point my framerate will go from 150fps average to 70fps. It remains stuck there until I switch to Fullscreen.

    Exact same here. Windowed fullscreen is unplayable, actual fullscreen keeps on running consistently well.

    Merged.

    -Disable heavy item missions

    -Disable VIP missions

    -Disable unopposed missions

    This is the only one on this list that really would be an improvement. Missions don't have to be balanced as long as you get both sides of a mission in the rotation enough times.

    -Disable 1v1 missions

    -Disable red crosshair

    Why? I find it hard enough to see the target at all in 4k.

    -Add the option to remove crosshair but keep hitmarks

    some people have  tried it and told me they like it but they don't use because of no hitmarks. They are WAY more important than red crosshair, I am sure decent amount of people would be using it.

    I kinda like the idea of no crosshairs for anyone. Hitmarks seem a necessity though.

    -Add the option for custom time of day

    currently the best way to do it is set

    m_nLengthOfDayHours=0
    m_nLengthOfDayMins=1

    and when u find the time of day u like type /time and then start with the values

    m_nLengthOfDayHours=999900000
    m_nLengthOfDayMins=999990000
    to get that permament time of the day. Just having the option for it would be a lot simpler.

    Why? I'd prefer people don't get to mess with it an make night time meaningful. Why should environmental conditions always be the same? It's a city, remember. Oh and add weapon lights and short range lasers... and subways... and motorcycles... if we can diverge for a moment.

    -Add the option for sprinting/jogging not to cancel out ADS

    Why should people get to use ADS while sprinting? The jumping is jarring enough nonsense.

    -Fix getting stuck in crouch

    Since u plan on adding stuff like hold crouch in the game, u should fix the main problems with it first.

    This would be nice.

    -Finally do something about shotguns

    U have said that u were mainly focusing on 64 bit and that it would be a lot easier to do weapon changes once it happens. Now that it did u can finally do something about them.

    What's wrong with shotguns? I don't like them, but they ought to rule the shortest of ranges.

  5. So I kept count across my login attempts yesterday. I had to login 67 times. 55% of those logins got me to the character list, displaying it 37 times. Of those 37 times I was able to get to the district select screen after clicking 'next' 35% of the time (13/37 times). Then getting into a district is a little tricky. For one, it seems more likely to succeed if you're logging into social or a quiet district than into a busy district. I also counted district changes in the same tally. So in total I changed district either from the district select screen immediately after login or from another district, 22x. Of those, 12x was succesful or 55%.

    Putting all this together makes the chance of succesfully completing the login process in one go about 10.6%.

    That is rather annoying. Am I the only one with this problem?

    Now I'm behind a load balancer, which could contribute the problem (though only if someone has explicitly written code to make it a problem), but there is do direct indication that it's related.

    Anyone else had similar experiences?

  6. I'm really happy that there has finally been a substantial update and hope for the future.

    That said, it's a rather a chore to actually log in to the game. I generally need four or five attempts before I actually get into a district. Here's hoping that that's high on the list of future fixes.

    Keep up the good work LO! APB still has so much unrealized potential.
