questions about the possible future of the game
MICFILLER replied to Aroa Croft's topic in General Discussion Archive
Ahh gonna tell me about how the game was when I was most active while you were still busy drooling on the floor? There was no real 'KOS' on omni players. Omni players back when exile and wolves were allied and still active were considered general enemies that players of single faction clans would fight together against(even when it broke faction rules) due to omni number advantages. This was a rule mainly around when capstones were still a thing but was dropped prob around 1.9 as it had little meaning. This was merely a way to focus on particular clans and differentiate them...as well as a 'reason' to fight. The biggest being to neutralize their advantage. Nah the only time that existed really was back after patch 2.5 was when esproc came back after gore had come back. He proceeded to drool and shit his pants. That was the only time you had dictated 'kos' to traveller chat and people getting anal about having fought with other factions. Thanks for talking about that 1 month of time though. That was a sick 2013 month though. It was a fantastic train crash where they proceeded to ruin their reputation and piss off general travellers in a mere month. I enjoyed laughing at them as they tried to squawk out koses that no one cared to follow, and burned their clan down due to people associating with 'enemy' factions over the ego of a couple incompetents. The 'alliance' against omni was before this video and that idiotic kos shit was long after hollywood had stopped being properly active. A reroll to an older patch is likely far more difficult due to how these devs operated it is unlikely they actually kept the setup for old patches. Even then all the old patches had their own issues. Even if you went to everyones 'perfect' patch you would have a mountain of fixing and tweaking that would need to do. -
questions about the possible future of the game
MICFILLER replied to Aroa Croft's topic in General Discussion Archive
Ehh what advantages? The only 'advantages' is 3rd party cheating. This isn't a gacha game or asian f2p game where you either swipe or no-life to compete(even no-lifing falling behind super hard). This is a game where it takes a week of moderate playing to cap a character in everything outside crafting. Even crafting though isn't a concern as you can likely find someone who maxed it and buy your 3/4 consumes you need and to max your final gear. Ehh people typically don't like combining factions in general, but the bigger issue here is that factions have little to any meaning(especially since shoulder factions are a 'lel wtv you want' and they have nothing really useful). Also pvp zone would have have pvers raging. Crafted stuff has always been better than quest stuff...to an obscene degree. Yes but the general idea of factions within the game(even for pvp) has always been that alliances can change and aren't hard set. Factions are more of a suggestion than a hard system. This isn't balancing 6 wow factions that are hardlocked and requires balance to make it all equal. This is a game where you can have 3/4 factions gang up on the other 2for short term gains and then fracture into a 2v1v1 and still later switch up depending on clan interactions. The issue with factions isn't even really the number it's that it has no real supporting system behind it so they are shallow and are more akin to when you choose a zodiac sign or some other inane shit for character history. Ehh a fresh start would have some more potential to bring in new people due to the appearance of more people, but that would be all. The only things people would lose are cosmetic items removed from the game and stacks of mats due to either duping or just as likely the game being stuck at level cap 55 for the last 6 years. Although what people wouldn't want to do again is some of the crafting grind really. FE in general would need marketing...hell browser games in 2018 get better marketing than fe ever got. No one is acting like band-aid fixing a game is good, what they don't want is a new server start WITHOUT the required changes(and losing nostalgic things). They don't want LO to upgrade the graphics slightly and go 'all done now reset'. @Viscera Factions were rarely evenly populated, but in terms of pvp if groups became far too dominant alliances between other clans would be formed to deal with said clan for short terms. Or in those cases(typically omni clans) it was 'ally against omni and fight when they aren't around'. -
Nope because if you remember icarus forums pvp drama would bury threads and increase the workload for mods. So the pvp section was a place to have the banter and drama and not burn every active thread on the forum. It was good for the general forum environment.

Yeah the FFXIV way is vastly superior. Then again it's as much the players working with the devs. From how it seems it just looks like TSW players being whiney(even assuming it wasn't a downgrade they were getting). Then again it seems to be far too early to even get into this discussion. The graphics are prob just 1 of the things they are doing to see how feasible it would be in another engine and to what extent they can do things. FE for what it is wouldn't be an easy transfer even just map setup...nevermind the plethora of other things they would have to(or well should) address. -
Death of a Game... Fallen Earth
MICFILLER replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
Yeah was put on the old g1 forums i believe. From what I remember I found it to be fairly mediocre, generic and rambling. Was more about fallout 76 or wtv. -
The fact Tiggs made a pvp forum and kept mods away from it was probably the 1 thing that g1 accomplished without completely screwing it up. Typical apb mods were screwups who tried to step in but got sorted out. Can we go back to that with only putting the hammer down when it get's batshit crazy? It's a forum meant for banter so it doesn't burn every active thread down around it(well if pvp ever starts breathing again). When pvp rivalries start it's better to contain the shitshow in a quarantine(this area) than to let it go around and burn threads down forcing mass cleaning/anal temp bans.

questions about the possible future of the game
MICFILLER replied to Aroa Croft's topic in General Discussion Archive
Gore was definitely meant for pvp as it was meant to earn then some money aka why it has a fail chance and the only way to get the item to prevent downgrading is to buy from the marketplace or get it from a red box(key drops being incredibly rare even for green ones). This is also why it had insane stats was to force pvpers into having to get them to compete. This isn't the case for pve because all pve content could still be done with level 45 weapons(yes even alpha). This earned them money in the short term and pissed off players so they lost them much quicker. This was also probably also partly due to their screw up in 2.4 where they messed with crafting queues for legacy accounts which also pissed off a good amount of people. Dome was targeted at pvers and meant to be a challenge. This isn't for pvpers for gear because pvpers could get dt faster at this point than it would take to grind out dome. There's also the fact there is no real worthwhile consume for this(i think...maybe premium?). It wasn't for pvers because most active ones were casuals who had difficulty with citadel with a full raid(aka their paranoia about any new buildings and keeping it to as few as possible) due to never bothering to learn how to coordinate in a team or make a build due to pve not requiring it. There's also the issue of all pve content could be done with lower weapons. The power creep was solely gore and their not understanding of what people liked. They thought always better is the way to go rather than choices(aka why ap weapons are a direct upgrade rather than a side grade). Also the issue of max level being 55 for like 5/6 years and their general gear plan seem to be based off of increased levels. Well it's more it was the only real way to input a renewable form of money for them(FE's money issue up to that point) as you can only sell the same pair of jeans a different color to pvers for so long. In all fairness pvp has to be reworked as a whole. So as there is some desire/goal for it. Factions should be figured out and expanded more for pve and pvp(add in penalties so you can have rogues/betrayals and not stupid immunity). 1 zone with expanded mechanics and maybe objectives would do a lot more for pvp than 3/4 different zones for cap level with nothing worth a damn in them. Gear and gain and other stuff would have to evened out as well. You should still have some early pvp zones but have them on the outskirts of maps in each sector(have it be an event for gear a bit below the level around there). Then again like any upgrades in pve it would require population. -
questions about the possible future of the game
MICFILLER replied to Aroa Croft's topic in General Discussion Archive
Actually most pvpers were burned in the big patches, boredom or the system being poorly setup so it pissed people off...as well as poor dev decisions in relation to this stuff. Big one being boredom as FE pvp has never really had goals so you just played it till you got bored or the drama died off(main reason people stuck around) and the next would be poor decisions by devs and an early killer would be poor information on the combat system. There's also the fact this game is nearly 10 years old and always had a low population and people drift away. Gore was a money grab (this has been confirmed aka why it mirrored asian games with their upgrade systems). It pissed off pvpers and forever damaged a good portion of the appeal to fe pvp...choices. Dome didn't really affect pvp but due to how it worked most pvers naturally wouldn't do it because they aren't your grinding pvers but the lazy types who like to just kill easy mobs and have issues with that(aka citadel). -
Here I'll quote the last anniversary event announced which was back in 2016: https://forums-old.gamersfirst.com/topic/400136-happy-anniversary/ Wow look at that sale! I mean there were some free stuff so let's call that an event! 2017 was nadda, well maybe tiggs spawned some mobs so that's prob an event even if it wasn't scheduled or announced!(isnt actually but lets say it happened) 2015 was a box pickup event(no devs/gms and recycled props) with some new op buildings and SALES! 2014 was SALES! 2013 was that patch where they fixed primal, they talked to people over a couple days and SALES(ohh yeah new items in the black box...come on buy some keys)! 2012 was an advertisement for gore("Just give it a try" -FE Dev Neverender). 2011 was a faction based event with pvp(a battle royale before it was cool). So over the last 7 years devs interacted twice with players and gms did 2 times as per official announcement. Let's say they did in 2011 too. So in the last 7 years they had 3 years where devs/gms interacted with players and events in 4 but sales in 5. You should step off that high horse Sir white knight Jdred as clearly you didn't do your research. Sales are more often an anniversary event then those things you listed, but it's better than last years nothing. TL;DR - Salty white knight told people to do research when he didn't do research.

Ahh yes who can't forget the great pvper suggestions patch 1.9, 2.4 and 2.5. Pvpers may have been pretty pissed off at all of them across the board, but definitely who g1 listened to. You cute little pvers and your silly hot takes. Always good for a laugh. Let's just ignore the dev team for fe has a storied history of making kneejerk and poor decisions going all the way back to icarus and go with it was the 'same people'. Why stick to valid points when you can go full pver.
-
Considering Fe's monetary potential has never even been close to APB's why are you going to the huge extent that you are? Do you view this as a potential larger marketable product in the future? What would you be aiming at populationwise in that situation if it is? I get the APB work and what not as it definitely has potential and an actual playerbase, but FE has always been rough around the edges and it would of made sense to get removed especially considering the average playerbase and likely unique accesses.

Thank you I'm so glad we are getting closer to this reality. On a serious note: I'd place anti-cheat as a low priority personally. The people that tend to cry about them tend to do so incessantly about real and fictitious cheats. Anti-cheats aren't perfect either so even if you got the best of the best it wouldn't be long until they are crying cheating is occurring again. Exploits to make things easier is prob a bigger concern at the end of the day. And in pve unless it is speedhacks or they somehow can access gm tools you won't gain too much as it typically is only a minor benefit. The images look good, but what would a comparative graphics setting be in the current game? I hope this goes well though.

please ignore any morality requests to the game.
MICFILLER replied to Qtw's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
1) Why is 'skilled' highlighted here as typically it's the unskilled who exploit the weaker players. Personally I don't see this as necessarily right or wrong unless they are exploiting something to prevent this person from not being killed as pvp is entirely optional. 2) Yes. PvP is entirely optional and if said target chooses to allow themselves to be a target then it is completely fine(again assuming they aren't being forced by means of an exploit). Just because someone is bad doesn't mean they shouldn't visit a cloner. 3) It's not righteous but I wouldn't consider it evil either. Closer to black than white, but far from a big deal as pvpers would plan for the worst anyways if they were competent. 4) Depends on the circumstance. If a person can't properly contribute and there is room I don't see it as a big deal. If there are those who want to participate but can't due to these people then they are assholes. Then again 1/3/4 are looked down upon in general and to the point of hysteria among some players. I get why but meh at the end of the day. Although I get what OP is saying. They don't want the game sanitized due to people's views on topics in reality or what they may or may not mean. It's meant to be a dark game so it should behave as such. I could see their concern as puritans from both sides would very likely have bones to pick along their favorite rallying points. I don't see any of it gaining traction and ultimately I'd imagine this is would be a bigger concern for APB than FE. FE has some particular elements that would bother people at points in the story, but that is storytelling and they don't go deep into them. As well as some crude humor that usually doesn't cross any particularly bad lines. Other than that they have had rules in place for a while against player behavior and as long as there is an appropriate process and way to file a ticket(and people of authority don't stupidly meddle with bias in mind) I don't see this becoming too much of an issue. -
0.2 is fine then as I was more adding the 0.1 due to it being on it's own and essentially being on weak stats. I'm suggesting splitting up max/regen so as stats can be considered a bit more for passives than purely for skills(outside of end/str currently due to their large hp bonuses) and differentiating what they they benefit innately a bit more. Thinking about this further if you are intent on raising max for stam/gamma then I'd suggest a 4/2 split for max. Then again this is due to my dislike of the 'some of everything' approach that is far too common post 1.9 in terms of how items and what not are(obviously builds before this suffered this far more). This is also in the mindset of how weapons compare against each other and how strong particular lines are versus others(gamma for example was first aid vs empathy and both are almost always invested in but to different lengths...first aid will garner intelligence investment in nearly every build where as empathy typically is only invested into where stat investment isn't needed or minimally). The 50/50 change isn't that great of an idea on second thought. I don't think outright removing willpower would really address much so rather than remove it make it a stat dedicated to endgame mutations. So have them scale to 180 regularly but for all rank 9 skills they would instead all be situated at 195(75 main stat/25 willpower). At 195 every skill would receive a secondary effect of some kind or the line just gets 1 strong skill for the mutation based around it's theme. Well stopping for an extra tick isn't even remotely a common tactic outside of pve(where most people stand still) but if it's something requiring mobility it isn't widely used as based upon how you are with the server you have to give extra berth and maintain the count in your head. For saves it would just be a general mechanic without differentiating between reflex/body/mind. So it would be basically be 'chance to save' and it'd just be a check versus the persons level(therefor their tier). Yeah just something I remember reading in later 1.x patch notes but was not noted to be changed to my knowledge.

5 years isn't almost a decade. 1.9 was what reduced the worth of willpower due to the removal of alpha mutations and a change to how their buff system worked. If anything it should be changed to a 50/50 setup for mutations and it should be given the passive of gamma regen. Health should sit at 7 due to where damage sits, but the other stats should sit at 5. Cha should be 3 with no regen and intelligence should be 2 with no regen. This is due to the important skills/muts intelligence sits at versus charisma(every build invests into intelligence for first aid and it is a stat for passive offense where as charisma is seen as a more proper support stat due to empathy and 2 aura lines under it's control). Willpower would then receive 0.3 gamma regen. Dex and coordination should stay the same for stat cap changes and lose all regen. Perception should receive 0.3 stam regen. Health is a strange one due to it being a main stat for a weapon and a general all purpose stat. It should stay the same for max and maybe move health regen to strength(and increase it to 0.3) due to the correction of range of melee. Willpower should be moved to 50/50 due to the heavy influence main stats have over mutations in general while also controlling skills. Although this would make it a good investment over a particular stat for a build using multiple mutation lines it would still be weaker than investing into a particular stat for lower ranks and still be a high investment for high/midhigh ranks. I don't think stat maxes for stam/gamma should be increased due to regen seemingly being reduced. Yes it does reduce overall regen but the removal of movement affecting it makes it so regen has effectively been increased and standardized. Saves should be a system to make lower rank skills not as desirable. So skill have some effectiveness at lower ranges but also aren't easy low ap investments at higher levels. Make it so every 10 levels is a tier. Rules would be something like: If a skill is 3 tiers+ above or below a character it is always resisted If it is 2 tiers within their range it has a 50% chance of resisting. If it is 1 tier it has a 25% chance of resisting. If it is the same tier it always hits. This would be for offensive skills exclusively. This would incentivize the highest skill tiers and put a down side to low ap investment and potentially deter as much skimming. Also a weaker system for lowbie greifing. You would want to standardize melee damage as well, because unless they adjusted it melee has reduced penalties to limb shots, but also reduced benefits from headshots I believe.

Tents/npcs only prevent shooting if you would of hit said tent/npc if you are on your target you will still hit them. This doesn't lock guns up nor has this ever turned pvp into 'who can abuse this the most'. At worst this is used by an individual and incompetent people playing on toasters can't kill them. The mutation thing with pistols is that it will prioritize the main gun over the secondary so if you wait longer than 1 pistol shot it skips the other one. Tab and player model thing doesn't actually seem that real because the game doesn't correct based off of how the character facing(aka why kiting pistols sometimes fire their pistols from their patootie while only running from you). The wasd thing is merely due to inputs not being spaced apart enough and as actions aren't queued it just does what is then available. Warp is likely server to client communication but it's allowed to continue on client or what not. It'd be why people's warp is typically inconsistent. Forced timesync would be a decent idea, but I'd be curious about the repercussions would be for forced timesync on a timer would be. I'll pass on adding more. I'll pass on making pvp even more aids as publicly going on about 8x6 did and other exploits. No one knows so people who would be concerned about it will cry foul unless you record and perform exactly as expected, and even then it varies.

Wrong Account Lifetime Weapon "General Question"
MICFILLER replied to Shinix's topic in General Discussion Archive
This is the fallen earth section. Try their support ticket system and/or the apb help section here: https://forums.gamersfirst.com/forum/34-pc/ The support ticket would likely be your best bet. -
To be fair it seems to be Adiosa with sand in his vagina. Sad I missed this though.

Suggestion Missing AP Weapons / Fallen Earth
MICFILLER replied to Kinksta's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
Except its an aoe weapon which means it will be inherently weaker by nature. Which is the case with basically anything AOE. Making it comparable to the other weapons in a single setting would either force it to randomize on 1 target or make everything heavy weapons. As it is now I think it takes 4/5 targets to be similar to other weapons. -
Umm pvp events were always rare and this type of events didn't occur often. Even then they only usually occurred if there was a guaranteed 'guard' group or it was a bait for pvp. This wasn't why FE died. 2.4 damaged the game more than 'crashing' an event that was assumed was going to be crashed.
-
So easy and yet no game has accomplished this easy feat...lol. Also how does one 'no aim target' and 'hit'? Do you mean they don't track or they tend to appear to overflick? You still seem very clueless on the things you try to talk about, but that's no surprise.
-
'a lot' seems like an exaggeration? What will it do though? Imbalance the economy that was destroyed within a month of original launch? Will undercut all the excessive prices on AH due to no one crafting? Add money to a circulation where the majority is due to exploits? lol Hell the main reason duping caused damage is by screwing the server up not the economy damage(economy has been fucked for like 10 years lol).

50 Rothium Harvesters Operation Center Keep Sunday July 1
MICFILLER replied to Crow Bennett's topic in PvP
Ehh it's not hard being a pve triad clan though.
