this game's lifespan is a perfect metaphor for my depression

this game was developed by real time worlds, the devs of crackdown, and it killed their studio in a couple months after launch, if that, because they dumped all their funding into incredible customization and ridiculously stupid advertising leaving them with extremely subpar gameplay with a terrible monetization structure. since then, no other game has come anywhere close to its customization and yet no one even remembers it or knows about it to begin with to call back to it. 

 

it was then purchased two or three times by different freemium milking companies that for some reason decided to fake that anything was happening when they fully planned on just milking it as much as they could until it died and they got another decent game to milk knowing full well they'd never be able to make any improvements or even content for the game. they would add more and more loot boxes for minimal content that was in the original game files from forever ago and call it new when it was just undeveloped or unreleased content from 12 years ago.

 

just pull the life support already, it's only more depressing every time i look up this game and see it still limping on with nothing happening to it. just let it die.
