Updater crashes/closes after trying to update

Recommended Posts

So I am trying to launch the game from the download available on the site.

I have installed the game at the default location.

I have admin access on that location.

When I start and login into the updater app, that is successful.

I have selected the option to defrag successfully.

I have selected the option to do full scan of file.

When I click on the next button, I see the scans and also there is an update.  The music starts to play and I see the word closing and the updater app disappears.

Any idea on how I can successfully launch the game?

There are no logs available, no error messages are displayed on the screen.

I was able to figure out my issue.  The password I was using was 32 characters long.  Which the website is fine with, the updater when initially logging in worked, but when trying to patch the updater, it just closed and never reopened and updated.  I changed my password to have less than 14 characters, and the updater no longer crashes and it updates successfully and I can now launch the game.

So two takeaways from this experience:

Do not have special characters in your password (I have seen this mentioned multiple places)

Keep your password length on the shorter side.
