Dear Mr. Matthew Patrick Scott and the Developers, The McDonalds Family and Friends (MCD) clan writes this message on behalf of all players who have long lost the use of their radars. Six years ago, the Mobile Radar Tower (MRT) vehicle modification was vaulted without much notice. We believe this decision has left a lingering effect on players and server stability. Our top team of scholars at Hamburger University (HBU) in Hamburg, Germany has determined after extensive research that solutions exist to reintroduce MRT into the game. The following letter will describe three key areas in which we believe MRT to be a boon. Player counts in online multiplayer video games have often been referred to as the heartbeat of their communities. Since MRT was vaulted, the player count of APB Reloaded (APB) has been in decline as seen in Figure . Figure : APB Player count over the past decade. We have devised an integrodifferential equation to model the player count as a function of player density n, player flux ϕ, game direction Ω, time t, player scattering Σs, and MRT vaulting status v as seen in Equation . Equation : APB player transport. Through direct numerical simulation of Equation , we have found that if MRT were to be reintroduced, the player count for APB would increase by 10% over the next decade. This may be enough to ensure the future of APB. Server stability has been a longstanding point of contention within the community. Since demands have yet to be met, the recent influx of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks have hindered the ability of MCD operatives to combat malicious users. We believe that MRT may be instrumental to this end by decreasing overall packet loss. During normal play, players using MRT may need to receive extra information from the server every game tick regarding enemy positions and velocities revealed by MRT. We believe these “heavier” packets may reduce the likelihood of packets being lost by at least 5%, decreasing ϕ overall. Perhaps the greatest point of concern amongst the community would be the protections APB has against computer-enhanced play. Most recent efforts involved the deployment of MCD agents to begin anti-hacker operations (AHO). The successful execution of these operations (see operation BIG MACK), in collaboration with notable figures, earned MCD the title of “anti-cheat” amongst onlookers. Reintroducing MRT would provide another tool for our brave agents in their ongoing war against modified clients. While a bug was the driving factor that vaulted MRT in the first place, we know that a balance pass is necessary before any reintegration may commence. To that end, we recommend changing MRT from a blue modification to an orange one and moving its position from the trunk of the vehicle to the engine compartment. With the evidence and reasoning provided, we hope to see MRT unvaulted soon and the game returned to greatness. We appreciate all the support we receive from the community and hope to see you at one of our locations soon! Thank you for eating with your local McDonalds! -
