Hello everyone, as the title suggests: I wanted to get back into APB after many years and, for the occasion, I decided to start fresh. So I created a new account and downloaded the game launcher from the official website.
When attempting to launch the game, the launcher opens briefly for a few seconds, displaying an half-loaded screen before closing automatically (I tested the Steam version and this also happens there).
Initially I thought that the problem was within the launcher itself (as others reported similar issues in various forums), so I attempted to use the Advanced APB Launcher first, however it wouldn't open at all despite following the instructions in the included .txt file. Then I tried launching the game directly from the APB.exe located in the Binaries folder, and the game actually started and seemed to work, but when I try to log in I consistently receive the error code 8, so I can't even create my new character.
Despite spending half of my day trying various solutions and workarounds found across this forum and internet (such as deleting the clientfiles.xml and re-open the launcher, changing the content in the EnvironmentGame.ini file, re-installing the VC2012_Redsit etc..), none seem to resolve this issues. I am genuinely losing hope - is there any other way to resolve this problem?
