How does everyone feel about them? Are they ok? Would you be fine with them being banned or regulated?

With this topic coming up more now legally I'm sure there will be some type of regulation or ban like other countries. There are rumors spreading of regulation even in the U.S. with Esports and loot items becoming more popular...

I personally feel for APB its ok. As it' was easy to still obtain guns as a f2p player myself. For some companies, its flat out abused as a more p2w/progress faster feature. Let's see what happens in the upcoming years and how it will change these games...

Maybe if it was banned or something.. It would make companies push out more content to sell regularly. Or just sell things for a higher price that would have been in the boxes. But at least it is guaranteed. LOL

dont care one way or another tbh, if i had to make one change it would be a requirement to post official odds for any loot box

that way people at least know how stupid they are for purchasing

Despite any regulations it's gonna take a long while before gacha mechanics will have to make room for something else.

I don'y mind gacha mechanics as long as the drop rates for something good aren't horrible. Most loot boxes have piss poor drop rates though.

I don't have any problems with them. Joker Boxes are totally fine. It's up to everyone if you wanna spend the money for it or not. If you say: No, I don't wanna buy boxes... then fine, you just don't buy them. In APB you are still able to get this jokerbox weapons because people can sell them on marktplace.

I just hate when some one try to control games / internet.. sure loot boxes are gambling ,but if government wants to ban them ... i dont know why they dont ban "Kinder Surprises" too. Its same gambling for kinder toys .... First we got feminists that try to make all female characters ugly in games, now this , whats gonna be next ?

I'm fine with them in APB or games like ESO. Whales can spend $100+ every month on them and keep the business running without harming anyone.

I rather see them go.

But we got peanut adults throwing money at it and a lot of incompetent parents not watching what their kiddies buy online so guess the only way to see them go is if government extends the anti-gambling laws on the interwebs more then just the online casino's.

Lootboxes make developers lazy I want the devs to sweat and hear their brain crack on ways to make the game better to make their revenue instead of throwing a lootbox were the peanuts and kiddies dig into.

Either ban them already or regulate them the same as gambling. Both would force the gaming industry to step back from them and look at alternative means of profit like micro transactions (Micro transactions were fine, lets go back to that being the primary).
