Restricting the purchase of Loot Boxes

'Effective June 20th 2018, we are restricting the purchase of Loot Boxes. This is a short term solution to bring our games into compliance with the rules laid out by the Gaming Authority in your country. In the near future we will be unlocking these purchases, but enforcing trade limits on rewards. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.'

This was done for people from Belgium and The Netherlands, since it's in the legislation there and the bigger companies have also taken similar steps. Armas was changed for that around September 2nd. Sadly I can't legally buy jmb's anymore ... Yay Belgium

It does not mean you can not spend money on these, but being restricted to certain amounts.

would be bit unfair ... seems you dont know frustration when you cant play game or buy something while everyone can cuz your county is black listed or something.

(LO should add option to buy legendary without gambling... u know acc. perm option)

Good. Now hopefully the rest of the world tags along and gets rid of these gambling practices or at the very least restricts them as such to force the hand of the gaming industry to look elsewhere for profit.

Oh, I don't know. Could it be that RL casinos require licenses and that all the machines are "sealed" and controlled by government agencies that inspect casinos regularly? That you know your chances of winning in blackjack, roulette and etc.

I don't like the idea of lootboxes,  I bought a few of them when I first started playing but soon realised they were a bit of a con.

I do wonder though how much of the game's income relies on their sale, I'm guessing it's a pretty hefty chunk. If LO got rid of them
what could they replace them with ? Something would be needed to fill the void, I doubt clothing and weapons sales could
ever make up the shortfall.

That would be a law that needs changing

There's nothing about *cough* going to a different country *cough* and buying them there though.

While it is illegal to use tools to break local laws, they have to catch you first

I believe you get a non tradeable legendary if you do that.

Thats true i tried a proxy got lucky with the new glory, now its stuck on my enforcer its not tradable and i can not send it to other chars at my account to play with looks like i  waste my money so better as character life time it won't get unfair if you ask me,

 

second thing i never enter my country somewhere so for people who think to login on at vacation in the Belgium or Netherlands don't do it there is a chance that all guns you ever get with the boxes got stuck to

Are the legendary's going to be account bounded or only for one char and i have to retry getting it on all my chars ?

That's only an issue for the Dutch players, since your laws are a little different than the one in Belgium.

Belgian players are able to trade recently acquired legendaries

I'm oke with the trade lock at the future all legendary are getting locked but i think they have to make it account bounded not character bounded i would like to hear what Mattscot thinks about this if he have any plans according to the situation.
