well honestly i dont want to be doing a ton of these to the point of mass production. lol
and @ kevin, i think you are talking about the inkbox guy? his thread is actually what motivated me to make my own, since his work is simply mixer-brushing over screenshots and stock photos as well. i was like, "hey if that guy is making money on doing that, then why not"
what people dont seem to realize is that having a mastery of photoshop and an eye for design and detail is artistery in itself.

also, i highly encourage people who think they could do this themselves to give it a shot and share your results in the "show me your photoshop skills" thread, like i did. i am always open to constructive criticism. keyword, "constructive".

I like your stuff still. Even though it's not 100% digital painting. It's still a nice little style.

lol, I was thinking of selling commissions for APB characters a long time ago but honestly I'm in a slump right now. I'm embarrassed to even look at anything I drew recently and I'd be embarrassed to show anybody anything. I've had artblock for about 4 months and still going atm.

I completely understand the time and work this takes but just saying that 60$ is a bit overpriced, lowering the price might get you more buyers.

maybe, but the above pictures are a totally different tier of quality in my opinion. compared to the other guys pictures.
And whenever I gonna spend RL money for somthing that is kinda unique, I gonna spend a god bunch of money for some good quality instead of half the money for some half decent quality.

It's just sad whenpeople never made this stuff on their own and do not understand what effort really means.

i agree,

most people don't understand the work it takes to draw something unless they're an artist themselves.

I used to charge £100+ for commissions and it worked out pretty well
I stopped taking commissions because i don't like to be pushed on what to draw, I like to be free :P

Thats why I am rather poor in APB. I could make easily any request people demand on Symbols, but then dedicating my time for stuff I actually don't like just for some APB $ is kinda forcing me to "work" But i am not in apb to "work" I btter waste another 10k APB$ for blowing people up in baylan with remote detonator.

I got you, but if you are self-employed freelance artists, you simply have no other option. :(

what people dont seem to realize is that having a mastery of photoshop and an eye for design and detail is artistery in itself.

Not really. Photoshop is a working tool, not artistic instrument. Unless you are capable of brilliant button pressing or smooth slider motion, consider it a hammer, not sword or violin.
As for 'eye for design and detail' being artistry, that is just subjective opinion on set of talents, that don't determine an artist by themselves.
When it comes to art, final outcome is what matters.

Going to post my result in 'Show me your Photoshop skills' thread.

It's pretty obvious that ink guy is the one who inspired you.

Exactly. Doesn't matter if Rembrandt or Picasso had created their work with Photoshop. It's a working tool just like a easel, canvas, paint and brushes.

Maybe a little off center? Not straight?

I think this one is better. More colour.

Her face still looks yellow-like. You might've also soften shadow gradient between chin and neck.

Yep... In fact his portraits are be best detailed, with flow between objects as well as a balance b/w mediums....

I wanted to order a portrait... But I also wanted to save up for The Crew..

Eh.. I will attempt to draw it myself, how bad could it go.

Here's my attempt with few tips I found out during making of, in case you are interested. It's not an actual walkthrough, just pointed out steps, as I deleted original psd file. :(

Spoiler

(And yes, it looks weird when you turn it verticaly)
