No but it warrants a look by LO staff.

If that was an actual DDoS, you would be seeing massive and fluctuating packet loss as well.

We were seeing that, until the servers crashed.

We can't help you on that matter tho.

The best and quickest way to reach out to a GM for issues like that, is by using the support. click me.

DDoS attacks are punishable by law?

Instead of spending a lot of money on anti-ddos protections.
Why they dont spend money to find who is behind those attacks?
And put them in jail.

Agreed. There comes a time where you gota go to the next step. Obv preventing the attacks isnt working so the next step must be taken.

Probably because they just pay botnet owners and even if they would launch attack themselves they would hide behind 100s proxies Edited by Clandestine

depending where, but ye.

"In the US, denial-of-service attacks may be considered a federal crime under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act with penalties that include years of imprisonment. The Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the US Department of Justice handles cases of (D)DoS."

Monetary reasons, it's far more expensive to actually figure out who is behind the attacks, and near impossible unless they make a stupid mistake, most CNC servers are hosted off-shore on Ukrainian/Russian server hosting companies who don't care about legal problems and won't hand over server logs because they're not required to (usually), it'd also take far longer to figure out who is behind the attacks and prosecute them than just waiting them out.

TL;DR Money and time.

It really is not easy to find who is responsible for the attacks. Pretty sure it would be much better if they focused on better mitigation instead. And who is to say it is just one person? It could easily be multiple people in various locations attacking the servers.

I hope these kids get to jail already... and theyll get ddos in their asses.

Maybe you joke, but I think this is a good idea much like what Fortnite had done, some of these hackers need to experience some real world consequences to knock some sense into them.

And spending money on constant mitigation, hardware, and lost revenue isnt money? Down servers cause of attacks and broken hardware isnt time? Either way its money and time and there comes a time where more serious action is required, we have reached that time.

Agreed, when attacks are on a daily basis its far more then just random and the only way to stop it is with action that will perm remove them.

You're kidding yourselves if you think LO is going to take this to the relevant authorities.

You never know. But the attacker needs to be taken care of so this way we arent in mitigation 24/7

Because (getting tired of explaining it, so here goes the short version) it is close to impossible to identify exactly who initiated a dDoS attack. Almost as hard as filtering and blocking involved addresses.

Literally he can just launch a DDoS from a online stresser network and you can never prove its him.

or he can go to a darkweb and use a advanced stresser and u still wont find him.
