04/27 EAC Patch!

Hi everyone,

I'm going to make tomorrow's patch announcement. A patch is going up on the Live servers for PC. This patch will be happening on Thursday 4/27/2023. The patch is scheduled to start at 2am PT / 9AM UTC and will last 4-6 hours.

 

GENERAL CHANGES:

  • Easy Anti Cheat is now fully implemented in APB! Launching the game will install EAC automatically. Please continue to use the /report command to report cheaters, as always!
  • Players can now choose to disable fog. This option can be found in the Advanced Video settings (note that keeping fog enabled slightly impacts performance)
  • Day/Night cycle added back to Asylum
  • Added the ability to disable Muzzle Flash and Magazine Casings. These options are in DefaultGame.ini, under APBGame.cVisualFX_Weapon called:
    • m_bEnableMuzzleFlash=true
    • m_bEnableMagazineCasings=true

 

BALANCE CHANGES:

  • Previously when nerfing the Colby .45, an extra 5m was accidentally taken off the range. After testing we’ve decided to keep this, meaning the Colby .45’s range will stay at 45m.
  • Vaquero Gear 5 Topspeed increased: 1700 -> 2200
  • Coywolf VIP torque slowdown adjusted: 0.8 -> 0.94 (fixes ineffective modifier)
  • FAR jump modifier changed: 20 -> 15

 

BUG FIXES:

  • Implemented a fix for the ‘car bug' (the issue where exiting a car while drifting caused players to visually desync for everyone else)
  • Fixed an exploit involving objectives and crouching at the same time

 

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The achievement “Kind of a Big Deal” does not increment if you are already gold threat and your character existed after your account achieved gold threat
  • Stalls can occur upon entering the Clothing Kiosk with “NEW!” items
  • Tattoo layers are inversed, meaning tattoos lower on the list will cover ones above

The Colby 45 range was 40m base before nerf....typo in 45m. Should be 40m

 

The equip time of 0.45 needs to be 0.8 cause the Colby 45 uses heavier bullets . I still think.

Previous balance change reduced the 45AP to 35m effective range, falling off to min damage range of 45m. I'm assuming you're referring to the min damage range, which had been intended to be 50m instead? Or is the effective range change being reverted (originally the gun had 40m effective range) and then buffed further?

Genuinely amazing news! Also like every change here, especially the jumpshot buff! The more movement we get back into the game the better, especially since jumpshooting was never an overperforming tactic that shouldn't have ever been nerfed. GJ! =D

  • The weapon now starts at 35m (fRampDistance 3500) range dropoff, and the value refers to the range in which the weapon's damage will decrease. So effectively, the weapon will have a drop off until 45m (1000 more than 3500)
  • We intended to make the range 35m + 15m (fMinDamageRange 1500) at first, making the range 35m to 50m (3500 + 1500).
  • During deployment, an experimental change that was being tested on OTW was not reverted and made it to live that made the range 35m + 10m (fMinDamageRange 1000)
  • However, due to how the pistol actually performed with a fMinDamageRange of 1000, we intended to keep the Colby .45 in the state it ended up in, as it was actually more in line with how we intended the dropoff range to function with our nerf.

does it really matters to much? when your own helpers or whatever the f*ck they are blatanly aimbotting in your game i dont think adding EAC will change anything lol

If they're blatantly cheating then EAC has a much better chance of banning them than BE ever had, not to mention that they also talked about possibly returning FairFight in the future on top of EAC.

 

Overall happy to see EAC return and actually having meaningful patch notes along with it, hopefully this milestone patch is the first of many.

Hello, tattoo issue is much bigger than inversed layers. Changing order of the layers causes deletion or duplication of other tattoos. Inversing layer list will help, but it wont fix this bigger and very frustrating issue that is in this great game since first release.

yea i mean fairfight shouldnt be ditched anyway it was working at least unlike BE but the thing is that LO will disable the broadcasting of a ban which will be stupid af! they can rather disable comments on bans instead of disabling the broadcast,so at least anyone who gets banned will be on the wall of shame where they belong! stupid idea you may say? dont thinks so! facepunch doing the same thing with rust players,publishing every single banned account on twitter! 😉 but hey looks like LO still have stuff to hide that includes cheating helpers...

All Helpers are members from SPCT, myself included, if you think someone is cheating the /report functionality should be a lot more effective in combination with EAC so I'll advise you to use it for any player you think may be cheating.
