11/21 Bug Reports

This is a thread for bugs related to the 11/21 open beta playtest.

 

When submitting bugs, we ask that you do your best to format them in the following way. This will give us the best chance of finding the issue you came across and making sure it gets fixed! Be sure to check out our known issues list and skim this thread before posting so we don't get a bunch of duplicate issues. Here is the structure we would prefer:

 

Summary: A short description of the bug – think of it as similar to a newspaper headline.

Game Version: This is important for tracking reasons. Including the version number lets us see how long a bug has been present within the game and where it was first spotted.

Description: A detailed description of the issue that you’ve found. Try to stay concise and clear in your information while being specific.

Steps to Reproduce: This part can be the most important part of a bug report. The steps that you took to reproduce this issue.

Reproduceability: If you find the reproduction of an issue, how many times are you able to reproduce it following these steps you wrote above? You can use a percentage or a fraction (ie. 2/5 or 5/5 times. 25% of the time or 100% of the time, for example).

Results: What’s actually happening when you follow these steps.

Expected Results: What should have happened instead of the bug.

Summary: Ammo resupply issue

Game Version: 1.19.5.789497

Description: Ammo is currently not being re-supplied to the end user during a mission under any circumstance. This happens for weapon changes, and for weapons equipped before missions

 

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the game.
2. Enter any district, and either change weapon, or shoot some bullets and attempt to resupply ammo
3. Notice that it does not do this.
 

How many times have you recreated this bug: 3/3

Expected results: This shouldn't be happening.

Summary: Graphics options are not displayed properly in the UI

Game Version: (Where do we find this?)

Description: The graphics options are not displayed properly when you launch APB.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the game.
2. Open the options menu.
3. Uncheck Support Variable Refresh rate. Click OK.

4. Close APB, Launch APB.

5. Open the options menu.

6. The box is checked in again.
 
How many times have you recreated this bug: 3/3
 

Results: The box you unchecked is still checked in.

 

Expected results: The graphics options should be properly displayed. The box you unchecked should be unchecked after restarting APB.

please whitelist DXVK https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk during Betas so we can experiment using APB under Vulkan

My hardware, if it's relevant:

AMD 3900X 3.8 GHz

32 GB RAM

2080 TI

M.2 SSD

 

1. Weird graffiti duplication

 

When spray painting this location:

2. Car engine audio 

While driving, the car engine audio is messed up.

First of all, it's crackling, like there's some bitrate issue.

Second, it jumps between the right and left speaker/headphone when turning the camera.

 

3. Whistle emote

The /whistle emote isn't whistling. It just plays the animation without the sound.

 

4. Lag spikes

Sometimes it seems that the server stops sending data and everything just keeps on moving in whatever direction it was going. 

This lasts for like a second, then the game syncs up with the server again.

 

5. Song playback UI widget is stuck on screen

When you start playing a song (I've been using the hotkeys for cycling songs and pausing/resuming playback), the little UI widget on the right side gets stuck on screen and never fades away.

 

6. The objective/resupply progress circle in the center of the screen is stretched

Not much to say about it. It's an oval now for some reason. Looks weird.

 

7. Mailbox is broken

a) I have Unread Mail notifications even though all my mail is read

b) It's impossible to delete mails, the button is greyed out and does nothing

c) When selecting a mail, it gets automatically deselected

Summary: All controls are unbound by default, and i can't bind any key

Game Version: idk, the current one during this beta

Description:

Everything is unbound, except very few controls like in the image. I tried copy/pasting the config files from Live to Beta, nothing changed. Also tried deleting the config files and repair game files through the launcher, still nothing. 

Steps to reproduce: just log in and open the Controls option page

Summary: Collision box flag missing for players and cars.

 

Game Version: 2.1 BETA (Nov 21.  4th TEST)

 

Description: Collision box / Flag Missing for a contact building at Justin Tang.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the game.
2. Enter any district.
3. Spawn at Justin Tang as Enforcer or go there as crim.
4. Go to the front corner at the building and see that all three doors are missing a collision box/ flag for cars and players.

How many times have you recreated this bug: 100% always since there's no flag or collision box.

 

Expected results: This shouldn't be happening. There should be a collision box with a flag that block the player from doing it.

System: 

Ryzen 7 3700x

AMD R9 280 3G

16GB DDR4

Game installed on SSD

 

Issues:

- Constant disconnects, after a disconnect can't join a district, sometimes still locked out after 15-30 mins.

- Game crashes

- Surround sound isn't working properly, certain audio is misplaced and not outputting on the correct channel.

Remove the center Armas button from the gamepad menu. During an active game, you can accidentally launch Armas. The center of the menu should be empty.

The keyboard and mouse stop working after playing with the controller for a short time. Restarting the game doesn't help, keyboard and mouse don't work since launch. If you minimize the game, the mouse and keyboard stop working. Visually, the game is terrible. Color temperature, fog color and lack of light make San Paro a colony of Mars. When moving, textures, shadows, light sources, objects stand out sharply.

 

The ship in the port area was made by an uninterested person. Animated texture of glare from water, rivets on the body, palms in concrete ... Terrible, tasteless, unprofessional.

Summary: Non-playable area accessible

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

 

Description: You can reach the rooftops close to Chiro and camp there indefinetely.

 

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the game.
2. Enter any waterfront instance, go close to Chiro (Criminal Contact).
3. Jump with the vegas on the stairs using nitro 3 to push you.

4. Leave the vehicle while in air and land on the roof, this should be the result > Click here

Description: You can see through walls because of this wrongly places building in height.

Summary: Sad death

Description: You can die while standing still on a wood small bridge that connects the upper part of Justing Teng and the right side of the other zone.

1. Launch the game.
2. Enter any financial instance, go close to Justin Teng.
3. Follow the path i take in this clip > Click here

Summary: Character moves without turning

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

 

Description: You can move without seeing your character moving, even others see that and you kinda seems like those speedhackers back then who flies and has Air Control.

 

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the game.
2. Enter any instance (except Social).
3. Go to any car spawner.

4. Spawn your car and set it up the way your driver seat is blocked so when the char will enter the animation will skip.

5. Exit, come back to the spawn machine.

6. (skip this step if alredy done) Remove both primary and granades.

7. Put any primary.

8. In the middle of the first mag reloading animation hit the key to put the gun away.

9. Instantly after, open the inventory again and put granades, frag/concussion are same.

10. Wait for the circle to complete.

11. Hold LMB and stay close to your car while moving (WASD).

12. When you hear the last sound before the granade explosion enter into the car.

13. If you see a random bullet hole hitting the wall/ground or even the sound, you done it.

14. Hold S to go backward with the car and while do that jump out.

15. While ju,ping out spam the key to put the gun away and move instantly always backward.

16. If you done everything right the result should be this > Click here

I get the feeling that at some point in time, some of the map collision models have been changed. Or perhaps there is a new collision system entirely. Either way, there were quite a few strange collision behaviours found in this test that probably shouldn't be the case if it was still using the Live collision model behaviour.

 

Summary: Incorrect Collision - North Havalynd Bus Depot

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

Description: The buildings collision model does not accurately reflect the current live build which allows players to walk through certain doorways and collide with individual stairs

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Join Financial District
2. Go to roughly X:1688 Y:1027
3. Walk into one of the static doors
4. End up inside the building

Reproduceability: 100%

Results: Player moves through doors that are normally blocked off in Live Build 1.20.0.835088
Players will also collide with every stair going up the nearby staircase

Expected Results: Player should be unable to move through the door objects and collide with the staircase like a ramp like current Live Client Build

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

Description: The buildings collision model does not accurately reflect the current live build which allows players to walk through certain doorways

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Join Financial District
2. Go to roughly X:1439 Y:1284
3. Walk into one of the static doors
4. End up inside the building

3. Walk into one of the static doors
4. End up inside the building

Summary: Odd Collision - The Needles - Haverall Plaza

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

Description: When colliding with the new placed Cafe A-Frame sign and metal table they can teleport through them by trying to run through them. May have been due to a client-server desync

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Join Financial District
2. Go to roughly X:1422 Y:928
3. Try to walk into or jump onto the newly placed Cafe a-frame sign, or metal table
4. "Teleport" through both

Reproduceability: 90%

Results: Player teleports through object collision as if they're not there

Expected Results: Player properly collides with Cafe Sign and Table

Summary: 'Forbidden area' in a normal location of map

 

Game Version: 2.1.0.835612

Description: Instant death while walking and driving in the Grand Warf PDSP area of Waterfront, along the tracks, receiving the message  "you were killed for being in a forbidden area"

 

Steps to Reproduce: Drive or walk on the ground near the short railroad track strip in the Grand Warf PDSP area of Waterfront, the exact areas to find that are 'forbidden' is a bit hard, I died five times trying to work out where exactly was "forbidden" but didn't quite work it out. The track does not kill you, but the area between the two parallel fences do at various spots, reference pics and vids below

 

Reproduceability: 100%

 

Results: Instant death for the player/car


Expected Results: being able to traverse this part of the map as you should be able to

Game doesn't work in multiple monitors (3 monitors), resolution 5840x1080

After the LittleOrbit logo the game crashes, but you can still hear the music, also it loads on the left monitor instead of the middle one like all other games, even the regular APB.

Game works if I change my resolution to 1 monitor, BUT performance is not great, I saw the FPS dropping under 50fps and the GPU utilization was under 40%.
