Anyone know which file to remove in APB folder to disable the clicking noise for UI?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew which file to remove in APB main folder to disable the mouse clicking noise when navigating UI in-game?

Pretty sure it's packed if I remember right? So you'll have to unpack the file then repack it?

That's an oddly specific thing to want to remove. But yeah, it is surely packed in one of the bik files and you'd need to go through the tedious process of unpacking and then repacking. There is only one person around here who ever really bothered with sound replacements in APB and thats the creator of the RTW Vegas sound mod. It is too complicated and time consuming for most people to bother. I don't know what software you need to use even.

It's a high-pitched snappy sound that is played frequently, I can fully understand why someone would want to remove it.

I guess. I always have low-med volume music playing over my game so I barely notice it.

It’s actually not really hard to do. It’s just so time consuming because after unpacking the files there will be thousands of sound files named by a number and only one of them is the right one. Use a part of that tutorial where it describes how to unpack files then try to find that sound

The fact that we still gotta do this shit is pretty funny ngl.

I've said it a thousand times, they need to redesign the whole UI+HUD. It's missing a look that actually fits the style of the game, and customization options for the little things. A colorblind mode too. They seem to really like the 2010 dull blocky interface mess.

Is that the little chirp sound. I've always thought that was a product of the anticheat, I never heard it before LO took over and the various anticheats were installed.

So It sorta ticks me off cuz I'm wondering what I'm doing to get the anticheat to 'Check' me, or is it related to the AFK timer.

That is generally when i hear it, when I'm standing around but not afk yet

Another thing to add post engine update.

Which by the way will break any sort of changes you will try to make before that.
