As someone whose experience with APB Lore is deleting those fluff emails you get from time-to-time. Are Lucas Van Rooyen and Lynette Casey finally being brought forward after laying dormant in the game's files for years, or are they new creations?

 

But most importantly: What will their Joker Daily Tasks be?

 

Also, I'm guessing Red Hill is a Japanese corp. by the look of all these skins.

While I may not agree with all of these changes, I am very excited to see the meta shaken up. 

 

This game either changes, or dies. (IMO)

van rooyen and casey were created by g1 and were to be the next 20 level specialist contacts, but g1 either couldn’t or wouldn’t develop enough content for them (or at least that was what we were told)

 

lore wise they don’t really fit as specialist contacts (lynette casey is just a random prentiss tiger and van rooyen is the bodyguard for the bloodrose faction leader) so i guess it’s nice that little orbit has decided to insert them as mid tier contacts instead 

 

considering they’re going to be tier 3 contacts, joker ticket dailies will probably reward 15(?) joker tickets at best

does this really change the meta?

 

aside from the oca and rfp changes there’s a single shotgun that isn’t marginalized, and now that’s being nerfed as well

 

change is not always positive

I would love another 15JT daily those are my bread and butter bae. 

 

I knew I saw them from somewhere - they're in the character selection screen scenes! Finally a name to the faces for a lore-poor noob like me. I'm glad LO did they're homework and slotted them in at tier 3.

I'd love to see the traffic lights work again in financial district. Aswell as the possibilty for more light patterns of police cars. Also The ability to create a blue only light setup. Would be awesome if you just could ''change'' the lightbulbs out for blue, red or maybe even an amber option. This game has alot of customization and i'd love to see that still being added! Thanks for listening to us !!

Nicely done Orbit!

I am looking forward to anything that'll shed some light into the current game-play. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, playing it when I can but it's getting repetitive fighting the same people and the same players every single day.

As for shotguns, I see a red flag in the fact that you're nerfing everything except the shredder, which nearly no one uses.

I personally don't care because CQC weapons are unviable in high level play because of their poor range, but really when balancing shotguns please consider the fact that assault rifles can be just as effective as shotguns in CQC.

 

Also what you can't fix corner popping by nerfing shotguns, it's the only reason why semi-auto shotguns exist.

It's like trying to fix crouchspamming by nerfing the OBIR or something.

APB has various terrains, and if you attack a in a tight area, you should EXPECT to be demolished by shotguns and prepare accordingly with grenades or something (or I dunno, your own shotguns?)

Great news overall. I'm really happy that something is finally happening and the communication is back.

 

EMP sounds amazing but the questions are:

 

- how many EMP nades will we have

- how long will their effect last

- will they be instant like percs or do we have to cook them

 

All of this is very important since EMP would only cause a temporary effect unlike normal grenades which can fully kill people or destroy the cars.

EMP in this case would be only useful against cars which puts you at a very high disadvantage against normal players.

Since EMP is an electric field it should affect the human body too so why not make players get shocked too and affect them with one of the effects below:

 

-confusing controls,

-inability to move

-switching weapons

-dropping weapons

 

Shotgun rework is very needed and about the corner popping thing, just force people to expose themselves more to be able to shoot from behind the corners.

As it is right now, if you are good at corner camping you can expose yourself in such a way that you will be nearly impossible to hit but you will be able to shoot at the other person no problem.

Make people have to come out more to actually be able to shoot and problem solved.

 

If you are thinking about OCA nerf then you should also look at PMG if you don't want everyone to simply go back to playing PMG like it was in the past.
PMG can be ridiculously strong. Many people will say "oh it's rng so it's ok" but it's not really the case, you can be very very consistent with killing people at even 30-40 meters.

That's why some people including me call it PMG sniper rifle.

yeah with IR3 PMG can become a literal sniper smg since it will have 40m+ dropoff , shoots a little slow so it's up to you if you wanna swap it with CJ but overall despite the rng claims PMG can be accurate AF over long ranges. Can't count how many whispers I have received in the past of people being like wtf bro because I was sniping them with just few shots using a PMG at around 35 meters or more with IR3.

 

It was one of the main smgs everyone played with in the past for a reason. So if we don't wanna see another PMG season LO should definitely pay attention to it too if they are going to nerf OCA.

And still you (or others) judge without actually first having the experience. I'd say to not sabotage something that potentially could improve the experience. And it wouldn't be just you saying something that you don't like, but I mean the people that right off the bat disregard these changes by just vaguely understanding what would happen. You can imagine your likely results, but there's a big possibility that it may be different. Only by a small margin or fully different, it's not 'likely' that you're capable of fully predicting the outcome.

If you can predict absolutely everything, kudos and 'hang the witch'.

A lot of kids use them with macro and kill instantly from long distance.

OCA is not fine. Non meta smgs can't compete with it.
I mean yeah I've seen some obeya macros but macroing ntec or obir ???? they are literally one of the simplest weapons to use.

Obir and Obeya just got a range nerf though.

Can't you just play the game and try it yourself instead of trying to disprove people simply because they didn't record a video for you ?

Here a random video from 2014. I'm sure you can find what you are looking for. PMG works the same way today:
