how to not get angry while playing apb

I play solo all the time myself and enjoy it more.  Groups are just too intense and want to win no matter what.  I'm happy losing games if I blew a few people up.

This hits home, i can totally understand. There's always an atmosphere of forced fun in group gameplay like your not actually having fun but is just pretending that your having fun. You have expectations when you play in a group from others and others have from you too and when you dont do as per expectations thats what creates this uneasiness and tension and rage which i have no idea how some ignore cuz i really cant. Thats why i play solo. i can troll whenever i want, no expectations. you can do whatever the hell you want. Thats what apb is for me.

Dont play in Groups -  Only play in groups if your situation fits either of these - Someone with faith in his/her skills /// someone with a microphone who can voice chat  /// someone who have just started playing /// you dont give a fuck about anything.

The most rage quits ive seen is from my own group mates who quit after getting rekt repeatedly while playing with me. If even one of you suck then theres a high chance that your going to get rekt repeatedly. why repeatedly? cuz your stuck with a not so good teammate and dont have the advantage that random matchmaking gives which is randomly matching you up with someone who plays good.

If you wanna group up anyway then tell your partner(s) in advance that you suck.

This is the hardest one to deal with and probably teach others because I think we've all interacted with those people who "group shop" only for the sole purpose of being carried. It's at the point that I just don't accept any group invites even if I had fun because no matter how clear I make it that I suck and just had a good streak, players still want to group up only to rage quit later on or start throwing abuse because my streak ended or we simply went up against better opponents. The purpose of a good matchmaking system is to put you up against ever more challenging players until you lose, so no group is safe. Even the solid gold "hackers" out there end up losing once in a while, 50% of the game has to lose otherwise no one finishes the missions.

And I'm not just a victim - I do it too I ask too much from my team and although the difference is I keep it to myself the outcome is the same - raging at friendly players.

But the situation is clear - if you find yourself hating on team members the news is - You're the bad team member. It's your fault, not theirs.

If you got 2v1ed it's because you ran into a 2v1 situation, other players aren't there solely to bail you out of your bad decisions.
The enemy stole the item? Because you weren't defending it.

Your team died in a deathmatch? Why didn't you have their backs?

The target vehicle blew up? Why didn't you stop that OSMAW set up across the road?

Team work goes in both directions and I think more people need to realise that before they start raging at fellow greens.

i thought “don’t play in a group” meant “don’t play in a premade group”

but it i can definitely see how playing in a random pug would be frustrating, doesn’t seem much different from soloing at that point

i swear i have developed by far the best technique ever! and that's to not actually give a shit either way. win/lose whatever.

by not caring and not letting things bother you the "zero fucks given" approach was born.

I've tried it.

I've tried it so much.

Someone has probably played with me in Jericho a while back, but last time I was on I basically just gave up midway through the mission because opp was literally steamrolling us.

It's my go to strategy nowadays(yeah, I'll get some negativity for it), but because my skill has depreciated significantly, trying to get it back up after several months against opposition that literally wipes the floor with me on a consistent basis has led me to a conclusion-

Why keep feeding the enemy kills if you can't beat them?

And then the irony of this all that is we end up getting a newbie team who I go easy on or I just leave the match entirely, and at that point I'm wondering why I can't find a battle of "equal" strengths, or at least where the scoreboard isn't double digits in score for one side and deaths for the other(I know why, it's matchmaking).

Oh well, can't win em all.

Gaming sometimes can make people angry or i should say losing in a game can make people angry. Thats where sportsmanship comes into place but not everybody develops it and it takes time to develop. And sometimes even after having sportsmanship people do get mad when they lose due to not their or their teammates but due to the game's own shortcomings like server side lag or bugs which makes everybody mad and its alright to get mad at this. And these problems are very common in apb. As a newbie and till reached i 1500 hours i was kind of a player who used to get mad and pissed of a lot and rage quit but somehow after crossing 1500 hours i developed this godly trait of not giving a fuck. Now this game is my favorite no matter how shitty the game or the community is and ive even learned various ways to reduce or never get mad all together so i thought of sharing these tips. Here you go!

Eat while you play - i munch on dry fruits, vegetable salads or any kind of light and healthy food while i play. Though it kinda sometimes distracts me from gameplay but i become more playful and happy when im playing while eating stuff.

Talk with people - get a good microphone or just use the chatting system and talk with people while playing. i dont think the population is that low that you will fail to find people who can speak or write English. Apb does not have bots so every player on this game is a human behind a screen with his/her own life different then yours. So much to know! just talk!

Customize your character/cars /// make symbols/themes - A huge reason why im still playing apb is cus of this. Customization in apb is unparalleled. Theres so much you can do. i especially love dressing up my character the most. there is so much cool clothing on citadel. Though i play on jericho but im still able to find cool outfits by talking with people or whispering designers from marketplace. changing how my character's looks makes me feel refreshed and anew. First thing i do after logging in apb is checkout social for new clothes.

Dont play more than 3 hours straight - take a break. do something else like watch porn and masturbate,read a manga/novel,watch anime,browse apb forums or myanimelist do your your homework, talk with your parents/friends, hang outside, do house chores, grocery shopping, take a stroll outside or just go to work. whatever the fq.

Theres also one more point that i would like to share but have mixed feeling about it.

shit talk - when i was a newbie i used to shit talk on distract chat and insult everybody who used to rekt me by whispering them insults/hackusating them and then ignoring them. i just wanted to let it all out cuz it helped me lift off my rage Though i swear that i didnt mean anything i said to them and a lot of times i even apologized to them. Do you guys think that letting it all out by shit talking is a good way to reduce rage? i personally dont feel its a good way even though it helped me.

Dont play in Groups -  Only play in groups if your someone who have faith in his/her skills /// someone with a microphone who can use voice chat  /// someone who have just started playing /// someone who dont give a fuck about anything.

If you wanna group up anyway then tell your partner(s) in advance that you suck.

These are all the points that i can think of at this moment. do you peeps have more to add?

Do you agree or disagree with any of these?

Do you think one should play a game even if it makes you angry?

Why do people play games if that makes them angry?

lemme know whatever you think!

peace~

Yes dad, I'll be sure to turn off n brush my teeth and be ready for bed so i get a good night sleep, NOW WHERE'S MY BEDTIME STORY DAMMIT!?

Oh I've had the same experiences with both. Unless your premades have some sort of indentured servitude to you or are literal saints with the patience of the gods they can end up rage quitting too if they're the type. Then they play the game of not grouping up ever again which isn't too bad but what's the point of being in a guild if you can't group with the members and yes I've even been kicked from a guild after a particular losing streak.

Giving up doesn't equal don't giving a shit whether you win or lose. I don't really care if I win or lose, but I never give up. I just don't get upset if I don't win.

This is what drives all of us forward.

"gitten gud"

Probably the best advise I have received over the last few months.

Although I did follow up with questions and any tips they might suggest.

I was told to uninstall.

Yup as said in the main post , play with friends, playing alone is very irritating, and if you can use voice chat, it really changes everything .

The ''git gud'' can be interpreted in many ways. Mostly it's just becoming adaptable and finding fun in what you're currently doing what prevents bitching.

Or, you know, maybe you have to find something else to do, a breath of fresh air, a change of pace. This case just means the game is simply annoying, just play another one for a few days before coming back. Moving on can be a solid option too, but maybe too straight forward for some people.

Oh. I'm fine.

I wasn't angry or anything.

In fact, I killed him 3 or 4 times in a row afterwards.

(we were in FC)

I whispered him after to thank him for the advice.

He ignored me.

Sometimes, even when you win, you still lose.

I have said it before that half of the problem is that APB isn't the most social of games with player's interactions normally being via written text. beyond that there isn't much to ground people down and make them feel like their fellow players are actually people who they can relate with.

The secondary issue is that with a questionable matchmaking/threat system which doesn't prevent dethreating or give a fair representation of skills of players, it gives a steep learning curve for new players and over competitiveness for older players.

Now changing one's mindset and outlook on how they approach and conduct themselves in game can help but a overhaul of how the game handles it's players is also needed.

* Have a purpose in real life and grind on and towards it, not making APB your main focus while sinking even deeper in life.

Congrats to you if you found a purpose on in life that makes you feel whole and complete.

Even with the most ideal of job which you love and enjoy, there are good and bad days and that one prat that just has to cause drama. For decades, games have been an escapsim for adults from the stresses of responsibilities and obligations.

Granted APB is an addiction and not a good one, but it sure beats the potential risk of over dosing and waking up to find out you've done something regretful.

...It's on par with smoking!

Личные цели:

Общественные цели:

Долгосрочные цели;

Краткосрочные цели;

Усложненные цели;

Облегченные цели;

Заведомо невыполнимые цели;

Цели, которые не зависят от нас;

какова ваша цель ?

mutual understanding , equal competition and partnership remain the only solution .
