  1. Greetings, I just finished building a new PC and I wanted to see how APB performance improved over the years. As outlined in the update 1.3 blogpost, I edited the MaxClientFrameRate variable to both 240 and 0. https://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/news/2023/2/8/apb-130-patch-notes I doesn't work on my end. Anyone managed to make this work properly as of the current patch?
  2. So, after looking at the number of players over the last three years there has been a steady decline. We're getting just over 200 players now every month where there used to be 2000+ in the early days of APB. There was a nice jump up to 1000+ when Little Orbit took over development it seems, but since then a steady decline. Apart from the maintenance patches and holiday events, what is Little Orbit going to do to change the state of the game? Myself, and I'm sure the entire APB community, would like to know what the future of APB will be. Will any new mechanics be implemented? i.e., new objectives in missions? New zones? New contacts? As a player that played back in CBT, I appreciated seeing the 2021 Roadmap. It was a nice and seemingly fresh engagement with the community. I think we need more of that from Matthew Scott and other developers at Little Orbit in regards to what the future plans for APB are. I think there should be more of a dialogue between the devs and players in regards to these future plans as well. I would love to see a revival of this game because the game and gameplay have always been great. I would hate to see another team mismanage this game and let it die....again. Here is the population of players through Steam across APB's lifetime. https://steamcharts.com/app/113400
  3. Lethal weapons are better almost in any situation when comparing them with LTL weapons, the reasoning for this is slightly understandable. Obviously they have been made slightly harder to play due to the arrest timer. However with the limited amount of people playing it, it explains that the weapon is not the right pick if you want to win. When facing someone 1 vs 1, you can often outplay your enemy by playing smart. However, in a full-frontal fight with both having the same chances and same cover and all shots hitting, Lethal will always win. When fighting in missions, you'll often find another enemy being there to help out. This means you have to stun two people and avoid getting shot meanwhile. While stunning the second person, the first person probably has the time to escape already and cannot be stunned again. In order to balance this, it would already require your team mate to also play LTL to help spread the stamina damage. Here's a small list of the current stock LTL Weapons: Stabba CCG: Gets outplayed by literally any CQC and midrange weapon. The TTK on lethal weapons is far shorter than the TTS. -> Could use a small buff 6 or 7 shots to stun instead of 8. Time to stun: 1.05s | OCA TTK: 0.7s | Joker SR15: 0.75s | Star: 0.75s Stabba TG-8: Feels slow and inaccurate if you use it while moving. -> Could use a little extra ammo per magazine. Time to stun: 1s | FBW: 1s | PDW: 0.84s Stabba NL9: Gets outplayed by any CQC weapon. Requires you to land 3 perfect shots on the enemy with (close to) zero spread. Time to stun:1.56s | JG-840: 0.84s | CSG: 0.7s -> Could use 2 shots to stun (again) or a little spread to make it easier to hit people with it. Stabba PIG I haven't had a chance to test it yet since the nerf so I don't have any opinion on this yet. Stabba PFTG (OPGL-CD) In my opinion doesn't require any buff. This weapon is super powerful for clearing out areas.
  4. I'm not sure if this post is going to be heard by the devs, but here it goes... I did some research in regards to the legality of using the same art style as Yoshida in the creation of the game, including the models and such. Have to go through reddit and discord to ask people who knew of such laws in Japan in regards to copyright law on whether or not is it alright for you (little orbit) to create a similar art style as Yoshida's for the game. What I have found out is that you may be able to use the same art style, or at least, an imitation of the art style, since according to copyright laws in Japan, it is allowed for you to create the derivation of the art style even if it's for commercial use. Just don't say that this is Yoshida's art, since he hasn't worked on the art in the first place, so that you'll be in the clear with Square Enix. It's a common art style that is being used on most medieval themed games in Japan, so it isn't far-fetched for you to do the same. Now the decision is up to you. I just hope that it is possible to delay the game deadline by 4 months (time since you put out the first models, not sure exactly when did the art concept started) or maybe take some effort to remake the models and environments so that you may be able to deliver the kind of style that the backers wanted. Maybe hire or offshore some work to people who have the knowledge of the Medieval Anime (I don't know what that art style used in FFT is called, was it that?) art style for them to work on the concepts and eventually the models for characters and environments. Just don't rush through the process, lest it would lead to a low quality product. Lile I said, the decision is up to you. I'm just a guy who hasn't backed this project, but I have seen the potential that this game has to offer and I don't want to see it go to waste. Ever since you stepped into the picture after the malicious schemes that Playdek did, everyone saw hope in the fact that this game could finally become the game that everyone was waiting for, the game that could reinnovate the Tactical RPG genre, the one that could make Square Enix rethink of the potential that this genre might hold. By the very act of stepping in to the development of this game, you have inspired both backers and developers. That a dead project that has been forgotten, lost, and was heavily criticized by people for being underdeveloped could have the greatest potential for success in every aspect of its design, and that there is still hope for that potential to be unleashed into the world in a way that could inspire more people that would allow them to dream again, even after a failure. I could only hope for the best for the finished product, that it would be inspiring and that it would share a similar hero's journey in its road to development. I do hope that I would be able to inspire the team in this regard. Good luck and God Bless! it_master
