    It's in a playable state, but with these factors: asking price + no in-game voice chat + no matchmaking + in-game issues, it's pretty rough. The actual game play needs a lot of polish as well. Shots don't register, guns feel unsatisfactory to fire, enemies hit you randomly, strange lag, etc.

     

    Hope they improve it a lot, cause the game itself is super immersive and will be super good upon release, tbh.

    Is GTFO any good? Is it playable at the moment. This is a game I'm really looking forward to but wasn't sure if I was better off waiting for the final release.

    Lol, was about as interesting to read as any other hyperbolic anecdote. 17 yr old kid telling some old dude he makes thousands by being a leet "cheat hacker" and he's like, "omg no way" and does a magical "survey" saying 1/3 of every player is using cheats in some way to gain advantage.

    All this sounds pretty unbelievable especially with a two month old company buying it. Sounds like a cash grab or bull shoot. I'd say a desperation move with riot falling on it's arse as I'm sure you had high hopes for it. 

     

    It will be interesting to see what happens now with 3.5 and future updates, including communication.

But one has to wonder, is it all too little too late? I mean I understand Little Orbit means well, but they bought a game that already had an expirey date, there was no time to dilly dally, and a few new pay for guns and a game mode people can get in other more widely known and popular games really doesnt help all that much. On the note of that I don't think the engine update will help ether? why? Cus people don't know about APB, the game needs a makeover, a payed for community colaberation with streamers and youtubers to promote the game, advertisements on gaming websites and hell a new trailer. What APB need' is an official relaunch.

     

    Hey you may disagree, but, I feel bleak and sad for APB's future and I really wish Little Orbit the best of luck and hope I am wrong. 😞

    I'm guessing all LO can do now is release 3.5 and hope it brings in a big influx of players.

    This will be totally pointless if they don't address the matchmaking and also the dethraters as new players will still be getting stomped on by veterans.
    I think 3.5 on its own would be the worst thing LO could do without addressing the many issues of the game.

    I've not played for a while so installed the game and went into the district for a few and then went into social to do a few designs on my character.

    I could not believe that social was filled with 99% of Russians. I asked a few questions as I was intrigued and felt like an alien because no one could understand me,
    I used to play Innova a few years ago and I thought I was back in time.

     

    It might be good doing weapon balancing and so on but I would wonder about getting a Russian translator and website and also ask yourself why it is this way
    with so many Russians and not diverse at all.  I am not prejudiced in any way shape or form.

    I have realized this today. 90% of the players are Russian and playing the game and the majority on the forums are trying to look for a positive outcome.

    All I see with the game at the moment it's in a bad state and only LO knows how to sort it out and if it's feasible.

    I'm off to sleep, the beer has run dry 😛I will say this before I go and probably regret it as I'm putting in my 2 cents  again on the apb forum for god knows why.

     

    MATCHMAKING and maybe too late. Who knows.

     

    1 If newbies played against each other they would have fun and bring in more population.

    2 if  bronze, silvers,  golds plus premades group up and played in a decent match making pool it would make for great fights and that's before any content updates.

    All you have now is high level players and newbies getting wrecked and leaving.

     

    At the moment that will not happen and needs some serious work 3.5 or not.

    For me it will either make or break the game.

    ive been over the most likely reasons thats not happening, some are logical assumptions and some are straight from the devs

     

    if you don't trust the devs to tell the truth about why matchmaking is getting pushed until after the engine upgrade, then why would you trust the devs to actually fix matchmaking at all?

    the issue is is the extremely limited pool of people it has to match - there’s no way to increase that pool without either a)bumping the district pop cap up and melting the already shit servers, or b) adding a mechanic (like phasing) that allows the entire population to be used for matchmaking purposes without changing the district pop cap

    as an IT guy shouldn’t you understand how difficult it is to add something new to old code with no documentation?

     

    i’m willing to bet i’ve played and paid more of this game than the guy who account shared in the middle of a bender 

     

    unlike you i haven’t claimed any special insight or knowledge in this thread, just working on the information the community has been given over the years
