Its protect only from high speed.

Incorrect. The mod increases the threshold of relative speed at which point a car colliding with you will start causing damage. In other words, a car has to travel faster (relative to your own movement) before it will actually run you down. The difference is significant, and will save you from being run down in most situations (other than just being blindsided).

Besides, I still see players blow themselves up. You can't fix human error.

That isn't actually human error. The compensation system (which is what causes projectiles, such as rockets and grenades) to behave strangely when near edges of geometry (be it vehicle hitboxes or terrain features like walls) has a very limited angle of operation depending on what projectile and what geometry is involved. You can have fully cleared angles (from any player's PoV) on both the OSMAW and your crosshair, yet still suffer self-destruction, because of this. Speaking from extensive experience here.

There's an easy fix as far as the OSMAW and Volcano are concerned. Give them a minimum range to simulate the "arming range" that these kinds of weapons have IRL. This would allow removing that compensation system, since the player would no longer be able to catastrophically misfire their weapon. The rocket would simply hit their car/wall/whatever and drop to the ground harmlessly. The cost would be a lost round of ammunition, which is a fair cost for unskilled play. It would also nerf the abuse case these weapons have, which is point blank suicide shots (or near-suicide if smart and equipped with Flak), potentially allowing the removal of the wind-up timer that was implemented to counter this abuse case.

Given the amount of veterans and dethreaters who ran rampant in bronze district, I have a hard time believing things have gotten much worse for newbies. Really its more of the same.

I have personally observed many of the higher level players are in fact holding back against the lower level players (whenever they can, anyways). Honestly kinda surprised. Lower level players still just stand no chance though. While many of the dethreaters have stopped playing due to to the segregation removal (and thus no longer get their free farm), there's more than enough high level returnees to cover the "curbstomping the lowbies quota".

Generally speaking people who can unmistakably distinguish a hacker from a really good player do not hackusate. You need a lot of expirience to do that, and when you get to this point you don't really care anymore. So I never had a feeling that whiners in chat treat themselves as a gamegods.

That apathy is one of the core reasons cheating is so prevalent in modern multiplayer gaming. Congrats, you're part of the problem.

Makes it all the more frustrating for older gamers like myself who know how good things were before.

i'd imagine orbit is responsible for both charge and chargeback processing fees

and too many chargebacks might have certain banks declining further business with orbit

Both are correct. Those fees are significant, just like any other bank fee. On the second point however, LO would just need to speak with the bank and show proof of the abuse to get their account reactivated. Which circles back to "LO would have to put in even the bare minimum effort" again, of course.

I'm not familiar with the source material

It's about traditional Japanese biker gangs. Nothing inherently racist or objectionable at all.

    Quote

Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of middle school was the highest point in his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today, he’s a nobody: a washed-up nonentity made fun of by children and always forced to apologize to his younger boss. A sudden news report on the Tokyo Manji Gang’s cruel murder of the only girlfriend he ever had alongside her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends his pitiful life for good, Takemichi flashes back to that same day twelve years ago, when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana.

After being forced to relive the very same day that began his downward spiral, Takemichi meets Hinata’s younger brother. Without thinking, he admits to his seeming death before flashing back to the past. Takemichi urges him to protect his sister before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he isn’t dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems as though Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the chance to prevent his ex-girlfriend’s tragic death at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.

    Quote

Bōsōzoku (暴走族, literally "running-out-of-control (as of a vehicle) tribe") is a Japanese youth subculture associated with customized motorcycles. The first appearance of these types of biker gangs was in the 1950s. Popularity climbed throughout the 1980s and 1990s, peaking at an estimated 42,510 members in 1982. Their numbers dropped dramatically in the 2000s with a reported number of under 7,297 members in 2012.

Bōsōzoku style traditionally involves boilersuits similar to those of manual laborers or leather military jackets with baggy pants, and tall boots. This uniform became known as the tokkō-fuku (特攻服, "special attack clothing") and is often adorned with kanji slogans. Typical accessories to this uniform are hachimaki, surgical masks, and patches displaying the Japanese Imperial Flag. Bōsōzoku members are known for taking a Japanese Road Bike and adding modifications such as over-sized fairings, lifted handle bars shifted inwards, large seat backs, extravagant paint jobs, and modified mufflers. Bōsōzoku styles take inspiration from choppers, greasers, and Teddy boys.

I must admit that, until today, I was convinced schadenfreude is a German word with no one-word English equivalent, but I was wrong, the English word for schadenfreude is epicaricacy. We learn something new every day.

Neat, thanks for the info. We do indeed learn something new every day.

so basically you're laughing at the company that "saved" apb by putting keeping it on life support? why are you still playing the game lol

I mean, the game's quite fun (when you get decent matches). That fact isn't mutually exclusive with the facts that Little Orbit is just another rebranding of K2 (with extra steps), and MattScott is a scumbag who's openly lying to the community to get people to spend more money on the game (this is known as "predatory marketing" and is both morally and ethically disgusting).

lol why does that even matter?

Because the entire literal point of the video is showing proof that he doesn't macro by showing his mouse cam while firing ingame. If the two don't line up, it completely nullifies any credibility on that point, while also substantially increasing the legitimacy of any accusations. If you can't understand something that basic and simple, then you completely incapable of holding a legitimate discussion on serious topics like this.

reaction times are irrelevant here because you arent reacting to the next shot, youre predicting it, consciously or unconsciously

thats why such a small time discrepancy is so easily noticeable during actual play
