  1. This is supposed to launch at OTW first, right? so all those issues should not be a worry since only a margin of interested players will play the beta and will go through the process of downloading it manually etc , meaning they know what they're signing up for, besides, a much bigger issue which cannot be addressed is the fact that most likely the beta will have few players, if they're bothered by something it's most likely that, not the bugs in beta.

So yes, my opinion, release and put a clear message that it's beta and issues found will be fixed.

  2. This is becoming very silly, it's been nerfed 100 times, go ahead, nerf it another 100, personally I don't care anymore because I don't use it anymore, there are many better choices, sad the iconic AK-47 is no longer a choice

If you want to add something to the game, look at Oscar first, it breaks multiple weapons, then buff other weapons to make PMG not the only viable option for that range (OCA, C9, Norseman), then there is SBSR & Oblivion don't stand a chance vs other snipers.

Misery doesn't stand a chance against anything, maybe not even against some secondaries.

Lastly RFP pistol, it certainly needed a nerf back then, it was a primary weapon not secondary, and even excelled at long & close range, but now it's way too weak & innacurate

I think it could use an accuracy buff, maybe even a damage one, as long as it drops off quickly not to allow it to be that effective long range

i guess it depends on how strict they are on macros/software - someone earlier mentioned rebinding keys, and if that’s something that won’t be allowed i can’t say i’ll be playing much apb

Rebinding keys? like mapping a mouse button for an action that is not allowed in the options menu? is there such limitation? or rebinding as in changing "profiles" of mapping presets?

  4. Does the current EAC use any degree of server side measures? if not, EAC client side only is not a choice? I'm saying this since I find a lot less cheaters since EAC was used and it'd be a shame to lose that.

On the other hand, I understand that it might be controversial to suddenly disallow all macros, but to be honest, I can't think of a macro someone needs in APB that has a legitimate use, so in my opinion it's a huge advantage if we get rid of all the macros

can you gamerfirst Disable *sex* and *pornhub* and *some bad rude symbols* so anyone get reported by this please remove his vechcile this game is dying becouse of these and thanks

and give money for anyone report a hacker or bad guy

Though I personally dislike all this hentai and porn addiction in APB and I think it ruins the game's idea of gang wars and urban chaos, it still is a part of the game, I would love to see it limited by the players themselves not by action by LO, though I don't mind the latter either, even if the game is for mature audiences, it seems like 80% of the symbols on the walls, cars and character outfits fall under that category.

Then no, I don't agree with the money part, I don't think it's healthy to incentivise people to report things for money in general, I don't think reporting cheaters should give money either, people should report because they disagree with it, not because they want some virtual currency

  6. Yes, of course, credit to LO, they're to thank that APB is still running, and doing far better than G1 did, they're on the right track and their work is appreciated, even the toxic community gives them a ton more praise, and honest praise (not a*s kissing), we can see people complaining too, but unlike G1's time (especially their last 2-3years), you don't see bans left and right to everyone who complains, and you don't see a troop of boot lickers.

But if we're to be more realistic and more productive, apart from the appreciation, we need to help with what little we can, be friendly towards the community, get out of your way to help new players, guide them, play with them, if someone flames you don't reply with the same, a /ignore is still far less toxic than a quarrel.

    Don't abuse mechanics / missions / guns, don't tease, don't cheat, don't use macro.

And for those of us with more artistic talent, make more creations, share them in game especially with new players, share them online, not just on this forum but on your steam or on other content websites.

  7. Would be cool, and simple implementation, game design could also add more details and play around this to make it refreshing though simple.

A technical issue, though obviously I have no insight to APB systems, might be that they have a fixed number of vehicles per district, the servers probably have only those models loaded, idk if APB went 64 bit, and if it did, if it'd be feasible for the server side, atm the implementation would mean all dump trucks are replaced with the Gas version.

You probably noticed that a district only has Dolton or Han Veo as taxi, Kurai or Sentinel, Vegas or Cisco, I don't think this is meant only for variety as their combined variety would be better, it's probably a system limitation

Am I missing something here? Surely changing location after gunfights is a sensible way to play?

Unless it's a target they're supposed be doing and are just farming the defending team for kills.

Nah, I didn't put it to words properly, everyone camps around target and protects, and the game is designed around not being able to camp in a single spot, but it's one thing to go around and protect actively, and another thing to backstab once, then run 130m+ to the opposite direction to hide at another spot, and refuse to make a noise or shoot unless the enemy starts doing the target (with Obeya long range), and repeat, and to make it worse, if you get off target and shoot back he hides entirely, no sustained fight, no holding ground, just hide, and shoot when the player touches the target, you can't do the target in 2 min like that unless you have WH and go to the hiding spot directly.

fucking Inappropriate language removed.    - Azukii

Makes me curious how inappropriate it was, seeing you kept "fucking" right there :))

Regarding the subject, I think it's more the play style than the items they use, I don't mind people playing with detonator or PMG or rocket launchers the slightest, or yields for the matter, but then I know a certain player who plays deto differently, just intentional spam of it forcing you either to die with him or to avoid the fight, or a user who hides 60+m from open target and changes location entirely after every fight, not even kill..

Basically people who abuse a specific mechanic intentionally.

If I am to mention one specific item that irritates me however, it'd be oscar, that thing is extremely mobile, accurate, good for hip fire, has long range, has a ton of ammo considering how many bullets you need to kill and the gun's accuracy

  10. Wait a couple of weeks for the ticket, support is at 12 days reply delay atm, a lot of returning players are sending similar tickets.

If I was to threw a wild guess, and confirm to me if I'm correct, have you bought those RT packs from another person and not from a store? if so, it is possible that player, refunded them (either via G1 or via the store / paypal) that means he gets his money back, and the RT pack is gone, possibly banning your account, and LO decided to unban almost everyone when they took over, that would explain why you can access your account.

On a positive side, LO have put a large variety of weapons on Joker store, and made it so much easier to gain Joker tickets, now you can purchase more guns & cars.

    Welcome back & goodluck.

  11. This is very impressive work, regarding the models / BSP issue, it doesn't have to be done manually, I am certain that surfaces can be extracted and recreated as BSP with automatic UV mapping, it only needs a good programmer to write a tool for it, they also have divide it to sublevels anyway, texture it... so on, it needs work to be seen in game, but most certainly, this is a huge part of it, and an impressive one.

In my opinion, APB needs new districts more than anything, we have tons of guns, tons of ranks, tons of clothing and kits, decent amount of cars, but only 2 mission districts, I think it'd multiply the variety in gameplay, with new uses and strategies for everything that's already in the game.

We really need to push this to LO, give them our feedback, maybe it'll help them decide.

    @MattScott

Is this something to be scratched as impossible or can the work be completed and integrated?

Give the game more hours and you'll delete some of your points.

    - The launchers counter many situations apart from car delivery, and they're a lot of fun, with that in mind, they're also balanced in my opinion, the volcano could use a slight buff on damage.

    - Toxic yes, they used to be a lot more toxic, so hopefully whatever started changing them keeps happening (or did they just grow up?), still, the community is one of the most toxic, so that should be addressed.

    - Let's see when we get the engine.

    - The civilians are intended, they make the fights more dynamic sometimes, it's an urban environment, However I agree with you regarding the vehicles, they do drive to you directly in intersections and even speed up into you in curved roads (they seem to be spline walkers, and when the spline is curved/stretched they maintain their point travel speed)

    - ????

    - The matchmaking is very bad though the logic behind it is probably very sound. It's due to the tiny population to choose from in districts, when it's a 40v40, the system probably has 10 or 8 enemies ready at most at a time, it's not that it's not implemented, it has nothing to choose from, the solution (Matt at some point said it will be used when upgrading the engine, not sure to 3.5 or 4) is to have dynamic migration of players, so the matchmaking system looks for enemies across all the districts, when finding them, you and them are moved to one district where you play, seamlessly (no loading world etc).

    - I honestly think this game is not P2W at all, most of the weapons are well balanced, there are a few exceptions, and those exceptions are mostly non Armas/Joker store weapons.

Haven't seen you this enthusiastic, especially when you post on 3 different matters regarding APB, and all 3 turn out exceedingly positive.

This honestly got me excited, LO's patience finally starting to pay off, hopefully those population spikes will last and increase permanently, maybe we'll be playing on that new engine with a large population, laughing at how people used to say the game is dead 😄

Thanks, everyone at LO, keep up the good work, the game may not be as famous as Fortnite or whatever else, but there are certainly people who appreciate your work a lot.

    Hi everyone,

I'm sure by now that everyone has seen the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on their city, work, schools, and entertainment.

Starting Monday the 16th until the foreseeable future, all Little Orbit employees will be working remotely until we get different guidance from health officials. We prepped all week to make sure teams had hardware and instructions on how to check in during the day with their leads for tasks and updates.

Come hell or high water, the team is dedicated to shipping the Engine Upgrade, and we didn't get this close to be sidelined by a little virus.

I know this may be a little scary right now. And APB is just a game. But since many of you will be temporarily home due to work or supporting family members, we want to insure that the game is online and available for all our players to distract themselves with some missions, fight club, or a little virtual socialization in Breakwater.

I'm also going to be turning on Free Premium for all players across all platforms.

NOTE: We will be snapshotting the active Premium days for everyone, and we'll extend those days once everything goes back to normal.

Hopefully that will make Social a little more fun for the time being.

I'm also going to ask for everyone's patience with us.

We are going to do our best to make this as smooth as possible.

And most of all, wash your hands. Don't touch your face. Avoid large gatherings.

    Stay safe.

    Thanks,
    Matt

That's a very nice giveaway, thanks LO.

Take care and stay safe, everyone, better safe than sorry with all these hindering procedures.

I still don't understand the intention with the Strife's extremely low fire rate.. JG has about the same damage, can easily 2 shot kill, at the same range, but it can shoot almost 3 times by the time the strife shoots the second time..

Basically, more or less, you can expect to receive 3 hits before you are allowed to fire your second shot, overkill.. I think 1 second or 0.9 would be more fair

    • Modifying the Bounty system to keep you from getting "Heat 5" in missions

Meh. I know some people dislike this mechanic, but it's there for challenging players who perform excessively well in a mission. It's one of the remaining mechanics that remind you of the open world, open conflict nature that the game tried to create.

Though I agree with how it's frustrating to lose a mission due to bounty, I still agree more with how you put it, as balancing punishment in addition to open world feel, hopefully there will be a better solution than to remove it

    seems pretty contradictory

There is a difference between adding more cars and ruining them, and the speed boost is not a "buff" or balance, by that I meant a more realistic speed than 80km/h top speed for sports cars, which is not possible due to the latency and the tick rate mainly.

I'm with you on this , Dont touch cars ~

and bring back the features that the ammo box used to have , its totally ruined after this nerf ~

This... every orange mode is useless now that you have to keep a field supplier on, or if you think you'll keep your vehicle next to you this often, then all blue vehicle mods are useless.

Cars just need the lower tiers slightly tweaked to bring them more in line with the high end, but to mess with them before getting player feedback on the upcoming emp grenades would be shortsighted.

This is what I disagree with honestly, I don't see how making low and high end cars equal makes sense, I don't see vehicles the same as weapons in term of "balancing".

And since I'm posting anyway, I hate the balance of "low yields", they're useless now, they explode in a radius and damage of a popcorn, and I get bored of how many nades I have to toss under parked cars for them to explode. or how you can't flush people out of cover with them now, as covers usually are big enough, and damage is low enough..

  17.

    Opinions?

I got 3 comments on this..

    - Don't touch the cars pls........ you'll ruin our fun, the only thing we ever wanted regarding cars was more speed if possible, and certainly more variety.

    - This isn't a road map, I support LO but this had no effort put into it, what sort of road map doesn't mention order of events and when to expect them, or any events for the matter, balance was last year's news which people were hoping you would abandon, engine upgrade is being delayed forever it's not a new event, and there is no mention of a date..

    - Thank you, for postponing work on events, those feel like a chore to play, and I think other areas of the game are a priority.

I understand you're probably hesitant to make promises, but it'd be better to wait and give news when you can confirm it.

    - If the engine is still far from done, can we get those contacts and you make some other contacts along with some other unlockables for the future? no? kthxbye

  18. I'm sorry, I only read the summary, but I disagree, the game has a lot of meta strategy, unlike CS in my opinion, part of the mission is forcing the map positioning to your advantage, this is probably the main reason why I can't play CS anymore, IMO you get no more fun once you learn a map. Another thing in the game that supports this part of the meta strategy is that the teams don't always start in this or that position, missions may send you to the same area from different directions and timings (reaching first or last), thus the advantage of a location can turn to a disadvantage, instead you should rely on some plan to thwart that.

  19. You make some valid points, I agree with the nerf part, the events were buggy, can't argue, but though I hate anything battle royal, Matt defended it saying it barely took time, and that most of the effort is reusable for future content (which can be true, just learning the code base while doing RIOT then throwing it away is still progress).

However, on the other hand, the new guns, they're all fun, and balanced, which could not be said about any of G1's legendaries when they first appear, you remember the classic money grab then nerf by G1.

Lastly about LO, the management, I think, they had many issues because they made many changes, servers went offline, for an extended duration, multiple times, but it was to move it to better equipment, to use better ISP, to setup some anti DDOS measures, G1 ignored every issue of those, and if you remember, we had DDOS way too often at G1's times, we also had the districts spiking to 50ms just due to players playing regularly.

But then, you didn't mention much about G1 to show comparison, for instance, promising the engine upgrade for years, when in reality they had... 1 guy? if any, working on it, LO are actually showing their progress on the engine, and it's a lot of progress, though slower than they promised, but it's there.

Then there is the issue with G1's pricing, which relied purely on whales to fund the game intentionally.

Then lastly, the bans and cheaters, you probably remember that if you had posted something like this about G1, you'd end up banned, either by Tiggs or by an "automatic ban by Fairfight" many of which were actually manual GM bans using the system to pretend you were cheating, and besides that, the whole system was really broken, so many people were banned randomly, and we had a lot more cheaters than now.

Which gives another point for LO, for both providing a much better anti cheat, and for unbanning a large number of players who were banned unfairly.

you see, shotguns are super accurate and have long range so allowing them to be superior when corner popping against SMG users is unfair...

Besides, it's not like it's their intended design, specifically made to be good behind cover and weaker than SMGs in the open.
