first of all, you are loyal to a partner, a king, an idea.

    not a game.

second of all, is there still people that judge the amount of dedication someone has towards a game just by the platform he plays on?

we pay the same amount of money as you do. Not more, not less. Same items, same prices.

So what's your point? We should obtain less shit cause we are not part of the almighty pc master race?

G1 thought they could fuck us over, thinking we all were 12 years old looking for a f2p game to rage on.

I hope LO adresses the situation, along with all the other missing features PS4 presents.

It was a joke, guys. Take it easy. Console fam is separate but equal in all eyes.

I remember I was disappointed with the customization because when I made my first char, I thought I could customize his beard. Cut from here, shape there. Same thing with the hair. But nope, all male chars with beards look the same. I know people say customization is amazing and blah blah but thats the only area I cared about and didnt get it.

To be fair the actual character customization is alright, but the most limited. The rest of the system allowed for people to get creative. I would love to see that piece updated when we're in a new engine. I like the idea of just shaving/cutting my character's beard to my own design, that sounds fun.

As for me, APB is a game with a best clothing designer ever made. I spend most of my time in social, chatting or making something new

That's completely valid. One thing about APB is even though you can clearly draw a line between people who only care about the customization and the people who only care about the 3PS, these people happily coexist in one community w/o issue and blend together perfectly. I am garbage at customization, I always try my hand when I am bored, but mostly I just buy designs from better people and go off to shoot people to fund more purchases which fuels more creatives.

i'd still buy that shizz even with a price tag.

u hear that lil O? $$ do it

Everyone will, monetizing games via cosmetics has been huge for years now. APB has always been the best chance to kill at that, just needs the support of a good team/company, which hopefully is LO.

I gave it a read, but this was the first thing I thought when I saw the pictures

"Oh here we fucking go again, another 'journalist' who failed doing actual journalism talking about 'games' that he/she has no knowledge on, and can barely even use a mouse and keyboard to save their life."

I ranted about this for around an hour on APB Discord when someone brought it up. At this point games journalism at a whole is a complete and absolute joke. There is SO SO much wrong with this article in general, that it would take me way too long to type it all out. But I won't bother, i've already done that once before.

Basically, this guy hoped onto a game that has possibility of having good profit, since it just got acquired. Played it for as little as he could so he could write up some bullshoot, used his 'knowledge' on video games to make assumptions, then interviewed random people he could find, with no warning, and the people he interviewed gave meh answers, and then he shit on their answers for 'controversy' or to 'get his point across'

    sad really.

Very sad, but that's all journalism these days apparently. Game journalists were some of the first & worst though.

I have been amazed the last few days on the forums of people who are still avidly playing this game and been opposed to some of my suggestions to wipe everything clean and start fresh.  Why on earth anyone would stick with this game this long is beyond me.

The amount of sheer time invested is plenty of reason alone to not wipe. Also wiping wouldn't do anything to solve the problems with APB. You can spin up of a fresh character stomp golds immediately.

Apb isn't about good graphics, realistic physics, or intriguing gun play. Apb is about pretending to be cool, and making people think you are cool so you can pretend that you actually think you are cool. Then you stand in social and banter on the mic, until everyone gets sleepy, then all the clans go to there separate spots and draw with crayons.

This journalist clearly has no clue.

Yeah he didn't even mention how cool we are. 🙊

Point of the article: "Games all should be the same, I suck at shooting, and since I don't want to customize--customization is pointless. I just don't want to understand."

He gets an answer to his article's title; however, it doesn't sit right with him because wanted to hear comments that belittled the game (and didn't). In the end, he didn't care for anything anyone said; he just wanted to make a snark comment about the game to say: it's not like anything else but he simply cannot respect that.

    "Gaming journalists" are something else.

Yeah, it's a shining example of journalism. 😶

from the article: " The gunplay, for the record, is crap "

also, from the article: " I’ve only played it a little and can’t properly recall how I felt about the gunplay "

great, a journalist that cant write 1 article without contradicting himself.

sorry, i cant take seriously this guy if he cant tell the difference between GTA and APB, or even worst, if he thinks GTA is a better version of APB.

    RPS, you're dissapointing me.

edit: oh, why i still play apb? because i see no other game to fill my niches as apb does:

    • 3rd person multiplayer shooter: check
    • with lean mechanics instead of all the ridiculous "back on the wall" cover system that gives your enemies all the chances they need to put 7 bullets in your back beafore you turn aaaaaaaaaaaaalll the way arround: check
    • great costumization: check
    • social stuff(social district counts): check
    • not p2w or "player with 2000 hours have a really big advantage over the new char": check
    • no RPG mechanic like grinding bosses to get pieces of a build to finally use it in PVP and/or TTKs and hipfire accuracy so ridiculously high that makes gunfights into chickendances that lasts for several minutes and takes the players in anime fights for a whole block: check (sorry, i got flashbacks of the division for a moment)
    • open map that allows you to attack the objective from multiple angles, with multiple plans, instead of a small, closed map: check
    • fun and meaningful gunplay thats not just cod levels of "aim and shoot": check
    • open voicechat: check
    • cops and robbers theme: check

i used to play other games that filled my niches, but they are really outdated for now.

im a niche gamer, i dont like FPS, battleroyale, mobas, survival games that makes you stay online all day or get your base destroyed when you're sleeping, soccer, easy hack n' slashes or classic MMORPGs, and with that, i've killed almost all popular games.

i love APB's pacing too, not too fast, not too slow, just....RIGHT

First off, I want to say I appreciate you and your polar ways.

I really do appreciate APB as a 3PS, especially back when APB was one of the only if not only 3PS on the market. It was extremely unpopular compared to FPS and I hated the constant stream of F2P FPS. So I will say the contributed heavily to my interest & investment in APB.

Naturally, I am agreement with pretty much everything else, but also wanted to emphasize the open voice chat! Jeez. so many games today just completely not launching w/ voice support expecting people to use Discord or something. And then when they do have it it's exclusive to your team. I understand people can complain about harassment, but you can do that anyway. I love the open voice chat. I love walking around San Paro and hearing random chat haha
