    you seems to be defending  deeper config edits further than what Advance APB Launcher provides. It is considered cheating if those edits are giving advantage over regular players who plays apb. Streaming with it seems to rub off the fact that LO doesn't bat an eye  since "those skills"  seems to grab some viewers and all they care about is marketing , yet except some new players every old player out there knows this is a clear cut advantage over when playing apb. So they should take action against these "skilled players" if not they should implement scans of config files if the edits mismatches from  the allowed configs out there. 

    Using an actual cheat is even worse but this is no better lol.

    when  you  balance out the reports , its evident that LO priorities banning griefers, violation of terms of service with  names/symbols . Yet the closets wont even get checked  , this includes custom configs for apb reloaded which eliminates grenade effects, custom environmental edits I am not gonna mention details of it since its not my job to find  exploits , all they need to do a quick inevitable scan of all the files with line by line  to find the edits and ban'em. Yet this is excused and misused by so called "skilled players", you are definitely editing further than what advance APB Launcher provides and seems like its a good  closet spot for these cheaters. As Long as they exist , none of the reports matter and you are not getting rid of cheaters.

    The whole point of the engine upgrade is to create a solid foundation for further development with modern technologies that doesn't involve digging in terrible code that is more than a century old.

     

    Better performance, more graphical options, plenty of optimizations and locking down several engine files that prevents players from getting an advantage over others by removing fog, particles or modifying shaders.

     

    Multi threaded rendering which completely removes stuttering. Modern DirectX. Better server performance. Potentially larger districts with more players.

     

    And the big one: 64 bit architecture which significantly improves the anti-cheat, betters performance, allows for more detailed models and textures and improves the usability of the backend development tools (especially the level design ones, judging by the struggles experienced during RIOT).

     

    A solid foundation for faster and more stable further developments.

    nice to hear them words , I like to see that in practical. Also should not call it an engine upgrade, that is a false term for it, from your words I would rename it to foundation update.

    The whole point was this upgrade should not be called Engine Upgrade. Again except some veteran players and some newbies hopefully not  discouraged by the present poor matchmaking system would only stick around  that long for an actual EU if its gonna be delayed further. And you must be blind if you only see gif.

    The engine upgrade was pushed back and RIOT mode was released initially caused the super delay. But let us move that aside , Matt wants to get out what ?  what are we gonna get with 3.5 EU basically "POOP" what they call is hardwork but in reality poor prioritization of tasks. Starting point of what ? More delays ? lol . This is not even an EU upgrade then , should not call it EU if they are just patching up G1 trash. So to summarize this is just patch that is over hyped and nothing else. Starting point more delays and unrealistic goals. If they have chunk to spend with nothing in return  this is the best way to go. I seriously doubt except some streamers and veteran players that stick on to this garbage would be enough to pay for their coders LOL.

This is patched up G1 material. In other words LO did nothing to change except work on some aspect of performance which I seriously doubt considering the fact that none of the demos shows an actual mission video of performance rather some screenshots of console version UIs lol and of course social LOL.

    Console version is a failure . So in other words they are trying to patch that failure and call it EU. oh yeah big upgrade from 3 to 3.5. or its just

    i'm loyal to no one but they show gradual progress with the engine upgrade, which is what this thread was about.

     

    not about shotgun changes or anything.

     

    but if you wanna argue about that:

    reverting if something goes badly is now a bad thing? they tried something and learned their lessons. that's progress. not nothing.

     

    they employed a bunch of fixes (e.g. yukon) and released a bunch of content for joker and armas already - no reverts.

     

    plus - they had valid reasons for riot: content drought means no one is happy but first and foremost it got their developers good experience with the engine without messing up the main project, the engine upgrade.

     

    lo isn't perfect by any means. i'd wish for more too. but saying they are doing nothing or not making progress is plainly false.

    The false hope is they started with the ad "Engine Upgrade Project" and still stuck , in between they diverted and brought huge budget loss with RIOT mode. The valid reasons made them at loss and I believe still is lol. 
    The weapon balance is a joke , Anti- cheat  still fails but better than what we used to have  and matchmaking is  still bad. Oh yeah . the server still lags  even with the population dying lol .

    LO is nothing but failure in all aspects so far till now but loyal people like you can blindly claim  and cling on the hopes. The game is still dead and  all is left will be people like  you, who cannot  move on from a sinking ship.

    lo is "notoriously" rarely releasing dates or making promises since they are aware of what promises and not delivering on them do. you still having false hopes is your own damn fault then.

    I  respect  that you are being loyal to LO. But  nothing to show other than some updates  that in a week you see a leap and next week you see that is reversed, this has been going on since the start when LO took over . The worst  idea behind launching  RIOT mode prior to release of EU  , the failure to balance weapons etc.

    There is no assumptions , I only believe in results and so far its mostly failures.

    it's just not that easy, they've been releasing (pretty honest sounding) updates and actually have players testing it already (that also released a bunch of screenshots)

    There's different type of people in this world, if you are not competitive or do not want to go trough the frustration of improving you can always:

     

    A. Wait till the matchmaking is able to pair you with players of same skill set.

    B. Play something else.

     

    Maybe you it could be related on where you are located? or on what servers you play?

     Currently my game is always over 100ms, most times 150ms to 200ms and yet, I don't see the "Yellows" teleporting.

    you cannot improve on a broken game. If you think you have improved , then you are definitely delusional. It is only fun because you are used to this shit hole. If you look through a newbie perspective, they have to play in  this shit hole with experienced players that group up ( mostly premade gold try harders) who thinks farming on these newbies is "fun". Currently there is no threat divided districts nor a fair matchmaking system to make the match fair lol .  This is one of the main reason APB is dead , no new players who have enjoyed other games would be wiling to sacrifice  their time being  a tryhard farm victim. 

    Congrats to LO , this game has no hope of population going up nor being able to resuscitate apb.
